Pride at RPGX

Figured I'd contribute what little I have to say. I will admit that I am unpleasantly surprised at the bigotry of certain people brought up by others here. I figured this community was a lot better than that, but I suppose I'm proven painfully wrong. I now understand why Wodine is running that CACE thing. Sorry. :x

I will also admit I'm a bit bitter about Pride this year. I've been having trouble with gender transitioning, I'm probably aromantic or asexual so my bisexuality means little to me, and I'm still pissed that some politicians are recycling homophobic rhetoric into transphobic rhetoric. I'm not in a good position to transition right now, and I was even kicked off my informed consent HRT because of my mental health problems that've been getting worse and worse as the months go by. In a blue state, of all things. :v

Still, Pride is meant to be celebrated. So I'm almost two months late, but here we are.

I'm glad you're here, Seeks. I like your observation about "recycling homophobic rhetoric into transphobic rhetoric" -- I mean I don't *like* it but I appreciate how you've stated/identified it. It's true, and I hadn't thought about it in those terms but you're right.

My heart breaks for you and all my trans siblings who are enduring the hardship that they are facing right now. You don't deserve any of it. None of you do. But we are a fierce and loving community, and no matter how many times they punch down on us, they try to turn us into villains, or even against us each other, they'll lose. It is a tough fight, but it is one that our community won't back down from. Like you said, we've faced this nonsense before so we will never stop fighting for a chance to live and be our true selves.

You are seen, girl, and you are beautiful, and I hope your journey towards self-discovery and transitioning gives you more moments of joy than sadness as you walk down it. And of course, know you have allies here, within the queer community and within RPGX itself. You are not alone.

God I hate how willing some medical professionals are to hold essential care hostage. Because being kicked off HRT is a sure fire way to improve mental health /s

I’m not sure if it’s possible or helpful, but maybe check if you’re able to access HRT through Folx or Plume instead.

But hey, Mara. I’ve been there, ‘not in a good position to transition’ could sum up a big chunk of my life. But it gets easier and better and you’ll get there!

And you’re right Strange! It’s a long, exhausting fight that’s done a number to my sense of security, but we’re going to get there. We’re all in this together.
