Legionaries of the PRIMA LEGIO will be equipped with Marius' choices, which, in this game, will be:
  • A TVNICA (a tunic) as a uniform beneath the armor, plus sandals
  • A piece of LORICA HAMATA (essentially a chain shirt) armor to cover the torso and a helmet to the head
  • An early form of SCVTVM (in this case, a large wooden shield)
  • A GLADIVS (a short sword that cuts and pierces, instead of only piercing)
  • A PVGIO (a dagger that can be used for two-weapon fighting, as a sidearm or as a tool)
  • A MANTICA (a backpack)
  • A sack of standard rations for 15 days
  • A waterskin
  • Cooking equipment (including a PATERA, a pan that could also be used for drinking)
  • A shovel, a mattock, a turf cutter or a wicker basket as tool for creating encampments
  • Ten SVDES (stakes for defending encampments), weighting as much as two spears
  • His own personal belongings

CUSTOM TRAITSTactical Prodigy
You find the dance of troops in the battlefield to be intuitive and that can grant you an edge over your enemy.

Effects: Once per day, as the commander of an army or unit, you can re-roll a Knowledge (Tactics) check and take the best of the results. The use of this trait must be declared after the roll is made, but before its consequences are described to you.


SKILLSClass skill distribution
It is clear that the Pathfinder system has not been designed for us to play with regular professionals, but rather with adventurers... even less designed for mass combat, indeed! For that, Knowledge (Tactics) and Profession (Soldier) have no formal class skill assignments and they will remain class skills only for classes where profession and knowledge skills are class skills, which will create distortions such as wizards being far better professionals in the barracks then fighters!

Well, in order to recompose that structure, I decided to maintain the normal class skill assignments (we will have very few magic-deprived wizards around...), but to consider that those assignments will extend to whatever classes have structural connection to the skills and professions.

So, in the end, Knowledge (Tactics) and Profession (Soldier) are now class skills for all martial classes (Fighter, Cavalier, Warlord, etc.)

The Sestertius, one of the many units of account in the Republic and the basic currency of the later empire, will be used here and one sestertius will be equal to one copper piece.

The progression goes as usual:

1 sestertius = 1 cp
10 sestertii = 1 denarius = 1 sp
100 sestertii = 10 denarii = 1 aureus = 1 gp
