At last, you find yourself standing at the entrance to the cultists' lair. Day after day, goon after goon, interrogation after interrogation, it's all led to this as you moved down the Chilean border. Thus sun shines down on the back of your neck as you stare into the depths of the cave, knowing that somewhere back there dwells the one responsible for all of this, and that between you and he may lurk several more of his dark acolytes. Even now they could very well be staring back at you, sharp eyes and sharper teeth scared of the sun.

To say it had been an eventful past couple of months would be an understatement. For the typical college student, an "eventful couple of months" would involve a wild trip to Cancun, a whirlwind romance, that one post-game party that got out of control, or a series of frantic misadventures in an attempt to avoid failing a class you'd been skipping and neglecting all semester. They certainly wouldn't involve trailing a coven of vampire cultists from Minnesota to Chile, yet ever since New Year's Day that's what Natalia Araújo has been doing. The first thing she did after the first came was to drop out of school and try to get her younger sister to leave with her, but that wasn't happening. The second one came after her in an alley on the way home to the small apartment she was renting, with more ranting about taking her to the "master". Poor choice of tactics, that one ended up as dead as the first. The third though she kept alive, or at least as close to "alive" as an undead bloodsucker can be, and got some answers. Vague ones, most of which were rantings and ravings, but it set her on a course. If hiding from these fanged freaks wasn't an option, that left only one other.

And now it would seem she's reached the end of that course, the location of the one she assumes to be this "master". Hopefully this would end it. Hopefully there wouldn't be any more surprises, she's had enough of those already. Hopefully with this last one exterminated she could get back to having a normal life. As normal as it could be, anyway, knowing what she does now. Could she even go back to a "normal life"? There were vampires in the world, actual real vampires, who would even believe her if she said anything? What did they even want with her? She had an assumption, and though it was a stretch, it was all she had. She hadn't even really had time to think of such things, such as what she would do when she was done. But now wasn't the time to think about it either. Pulling a hood over her head, a pair of goggles with dark gray lenses over her eyes, and settling a black and dark red mask over her nose and mouth, she With a 29 stealthsilently slips into the cave, leaving wilted grass beneath her feet as she looks for this cult leader and any remaining cultists he may be commanding.

Almost immediately, the dark, dank confines of the cave begin to close in as you leave behind the dry and bright outside world; you almost trip and fall over an unseen rock, but catch yourself just in time.

OoC: Sooo... it's dark in that there cave. Ignoring the fact that Wither put on dark tinted glasses (to... help?), you're either going to need to bust out a light source or start making some Perception checks with a -5 penalty for darkness with your posts.

OOCNight vision goggles, they don't all have green lenses, even in the real world where they don't have to worry about green clashing with their outfit!

You don't see any cultists, but you do determine no fewer than three distinct passages, at least two large enough to accommodate without too much wriggling on your belly.

OoC: Still, Perception checks. And maybe next time mention they're specifically the NVG you carry instead of just a fashion accessory, that'd be great

No guards at the entrance, that was good so far. Or bad, depending. Good because it meant they couldn't spare the manpower, bad because it meant they'd be hiding. Which meant the first step is going to be finding the bloodsucking bastards, then it's a matter of taking them by surprise before they can react or get away. With only the occasional hiccup that's how things have gone so far. She's noticed that vampires can see, hear, and smell better than a human can, but even still they're not used to someone making such efforts at going undetected. Her skills in that matter have certainly sharpened over the past couple of months, a matter of necessity. Hopefully that practice will pay off. With three paths, conventional wisdom says always go left, but this is hardly conventional and guesswork never the optimal choice. Leaning down the woman

At first, it's hard to tell which one is most used; but the middle is the only one with a thin tripwire scant millimeters off the ground, gleaming bright in the infrared light of the NVG and apparently attached into the solid rock on both sides.

So tey got traps, good ta know. Wonder if tey expectin me or some oter kind of company the woman thinks to herself as she takes a look at the tripwire. She wonders if it's an alarm or a trap but doesn't feel the need to figure out which. They both serve the same function really, only one hurts more. Carefully stepping over the wire she continues on down the middle passage,

You feel the slight shiver of damp rock dust fall down on the back of your neck, but the thin stalactites hang scant inches from your head, and there's clearly nothing up there.

A few moments later, you see the dim glow of a heat signature just around a bend in the tunnel in front of you. It's probably not a vampire, as they tend to exist closer to room temperature in the absence of exercise -although, this makes them easier to track when they're frightened, fighting, or running away-, but it could very well be an electronic device, possibly even a small generator, though the flow of water somewhere deep beneath your feet could easily be mistaken for the running of an engine. Or it could be part of another trap.

OoC: I rolled for you to avoid the trap. I'd've ruled it Sleight of Hand, but not Thieves' Skills... didn't seem fair to ding you for that, so I rolled half of Thieves' Skills plus Agility as a proxy for contorting to make it over the wire in a tight space.

Well even vampires need creature comforts, and to get that way out here in the middle of nowhere, you need power. A generator would make a certain amount of sense, though it could also be something completely bizarre. Can't rule anything out with this lot. What would they be doing with one though? Computers? She's found a few but with a complete lack of computer-savvy she couldn't do anything with them. It could be another trap, if this is their last line of defense they're going to be thorough, Natalia knew this going in, which is why she's being more paranoid than usual. Not that she was ever not careful, but still. Keeping with her She'll just be keeping that stealth mastery up as a default in heresilent approach she inches closer to the bend in the corner, taking a

The cave opens into a small grotto, and you can see a dim, flickering light, burning just above a wooden sign that says "No Entry, by order of the Chilean Government, at Risk of Death" in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. If you didn't have your goggles on, it might not even be bright enough to see.

The unmistakable click of a pistol's hammer sliding into place alerts you. A lone, thin figure, barely visible even with the goggles, stands at the far side of the grotto, at least twenty-five feet away. "Are you lost?Você está perdido?" he questions. "You must not be down here alone. It's dangerous.Você não deveria estar aqui sozinho. É perigoso."

The click of the gun hardly concerns her, it's hardly the first time she's had one pointed at her, likely won't be the last either. Having been shot before it's even less of a threat, though the obvious vampire at the other end of the grotto doesn't seem to know that. And it is obvious. He's barely visible, thin and likely pale, and Natalia knows her capabilities, no ordinary human should have heard or seen her coming. Only one of the bloodsuckers and their damned senses could do that. "I'm sure it isEstoy seguro de que lo es," she answers dryly as she releases the aura of decay within her and rushes him, gun be damned. Even if he hits her before she closes, she's had worse. But first he has to hit her, and her quickness has always been one of her best assets. Footsteps splashing across the damp ground, she aims for his midsection in an attempt to take him to the ground.

The vampire growls as you rush closer, pale face growing positively white as you close the distance; your punch hits solidly in the center of his chest, thudding against stout bones before your arm is brushed aside. He slashes at your face with wickedly sharp claws, but misses by scant inches, the gun apparently just for show as it clatters against the damp rock.

OoC: Vamp is dazed. Your grab attack check is just your CC check, but the vampire overpowered your strength roll to actually hold on and broke out.

This clearly wasn't the ordinary, run of the mill bloodsucker. Those tended to crumple like an empty can, this one's putting up a fight. Which is good, the ones that put up a fight are the ones that know something, like where this "master" is and how many other traps are in here. Not that he'll talk, but she's had quite a bit of success with loosening tongues in the past by putting her hand on their chest and slowly watching the body wither and shrivel as her hand gets closer and closer to their heart. Messy, disgusting work, but whatever it takes. For now there's little reason to change tactics, the woman bring a Same thing, defense for 2

Your hand is you did hit him, but he made his TN savedeflected and he wriggles out with a clean jerk. "//You should not have come here, crazy lady,//" he manages, before wilting beneath your aura and keeling over unconscious to the ground.

OoC: I'm gonna say yes for your unarmed grab, until further notice. It's just easier than creating an intricate does/does not work system for Power/Accurate/All-Out/Defensive attack, and your grab IS only DC 14 (10+CombatStrength) so it's not like anything's getting broken... it'll probably be a lot easier for you to actually make grabs with the help of those advantages.

Vampy is incapacitated. Fort 6 will do that to a guy.
