Really, this system ain't half-bad! I feel like it combines the best of the old-school systems, and eliminates as much of the worst as possible. You can play it right out of the box, as it were, or plug in some supplemental materials with your Game Master's permission.

UPDATE

I will be closing applications on November 8th OR if the post drops to the second page. Whichever comes first. I still want to recruit 2 more players. I feel that starting the game with 7 will be in the best interest in the face of possible attrition in the future. If there are no more applications I will be forced to pull the game due to lack of interest.

Hello. I came here from giatip.
You said not to roll here.. so how and where to roll?
So much mostalgia. I used only to DM, would be fun to be a player in old school

Edit: I think I want to play as halfling fighter.

Don't cancel, Dargos! I'm psyched to play this adventure and love old-school systems like BFRPG. If we end up shorthanded, the hirelings will take the front line.

I'm rolling up a character and just got sick stats in my intro thread. Just need to work through the sheet. I think I'll play a fighter as well since we have a great group of support characters.

Welcome to the site!

The way it works is if we have enough players the moderators create a separate folder tucked away somewhere. In this folder I as the DM create enough threads to support the game. Things like a dedicated thread just for rolls. A thread for OOC, Out of character conversations. Multiple In game threads if needed and a few other threads if needed for game maintenance and story building all depending on how in depth the DM wants to make it.

Usually we create the character idea in this advertisement thread and if accepted by the DM. (usually in a 5e game you could have anywhere from 12-25 applications for one game) Then after we flesh out the character sheet in the game folder. If you have any questions feel free to ask myself or some of the players that have already applied can help with the application.

Well it seems like we have some renewed interest. That is great!

For our two new potential players, have no fear take your time, get to learn navigating the site and when you are ready in a day or two come back and drop an application and maybe we can get started on some old school fun!

Apologies but I can't figure out the fancy block formatting... if anyone can point me to the right place, I don't seem to see it in the new player formatting sticky.

It's the little "S" with the square around it.

You can copy from another post: hit quote and copy and paste. That’s how I learned.

Heya, Game Master, are quasi-classes permitted? Because I put in as a Thief, but want to add the Bard "kit" to things... sort of a happy medium between filling a much-needed role, and also making the Cleric's life less miserable with some of the songs made available to players. Even if not, Oriash is still gonna play herself some panpipes. This is what I get for listening to Zamfir while thinking up a character.
...although the "Holy Character" one is also enticing, if only because a Good-aligned Thief forced to behave themselves would make for an interesting role playing experience.

I've also told one last person about this game, who I used to work with. He might show up!
