Character App. Name: Yumi Yoshinaga Age: 11 Specialization: Puppeteer (I know of the poor img quality. The desktop computer is acting up, will fix it when I can. And hopefully color it) Description: Yumi Yoshinaga is rather tall for her age, and has a cute smile. She has yet to develop any “famine qualities” but is expected to bloom into an beautiful flower as her mother is quite an attractive woman. She is tan of skin due to the many hours spent running around in the sun. She has brown eyes and a small nose. Her hair is long and brown which is usually pulled back into a high ponytail. She is often seen wearing lightly colored clothing made from linen that protect her from sudden sandstorms and shield her from Sunagakure's scorching heat. Hawks – is Yumi's puppet. It is modeled after a red-tailed hawk. It is made out of the typical materials used by the puppeteers of Sunagakure. It is truly a work of art in terms of ascetics. Yumi has made a point in trying to capture the elegance of the bird of prey. Her puppeteering also tries to mimic a hawk's natural movements. Hawks is about the size of a medium to large dog. It is equipped with a razor-sharp beak, multiple retracting blades hidden within it's wings, very sharp kurkuri-like talons, and a hollow cavity within it's body that's used for storing items. Personality: Yumi can be described sometimes as being aloof. This is because she is often seen staring off aimlessly, but in truth, it is because of her love of the natural world. This has tagged her as being a tomboy as she is not the least bit worried about looking pretty like most of the girls her age. If there's an interesting critter to be found, or an adventure to be had, then all bets are off, Yumi simply must go and check it out. Especially if someone is around and is the slightest bit interested. She is a very curious being. Yumi is calm and collected when interacting with other people, for the most part, but is also known to be loud and excitable. Every now and then an ornery streak sparks up (definitely got that her father) and feels compelled to play a practical joke on the local boys her age. Because her parents are civilians, and her family line has had no one to ever become a ninja, Yumi constantly feels the need to prove herself and is highly competitive. Background: Yumi is the daughter to a local artisan family. Her mother is a weaver of fine rugs, while her father is a sculptor who specializes in various forms of pottery. By the age of five, Yumi's parents began to push their daughter to become an artist herself, exposing her to many different forms of media such as oil paints, calligraphy, and water colors. Yumi's parents soon discovered that their daughter possessed some genuine talent. By the age of eight, Yumi was allowed to expand her talent to other artistic media. She was drawn to making three dimensional pieces that took on the shapes of desert animals. This was also around the time when Yumi's parents discovered that their daughter could produce Chakra Threads. At first, Yumi's ridged sculptures could be seen bounding across the room. As her artistic talent grew she would give her creations flexible joints like those a marionette would have. But instead of bits of cord being used to prop her puppets up with, Yumi used her chakra strings. This was a shocking discovery for her parents, but gradually they began to accept their daughter's abilities knowing that the ninja academy would soon take interest in their daughter as a prospect. Whilst at the academy, Yumi has gained much knowledge on puppet construction being able to properly utilize their space and increase their range of movement. She has studied under the instructors Kankuro has left in charge and has even been privileged in meeting him on a couple occasions. Kankuro gives Yumi much inspiration and she admires his sister's bold personality. Yumi aspires to become a Jōnin ranked ninja and lead a team of genin assisting them on missions. And when asked about growing older still, Yumi smiles and states that teaching at the academy and painting on her days off doesn't sound like a terrible idea. But that is a long way away.   Yumi had spent the entire night making final preparations to her newest creation. Tomorrow was to be her final day at the academy as well as the day spent taking the written exams. She was quite nervous about them, nervous that she would somehow fail even though she had made herself take practice ones months in advance. But she was still worried about them. There were rumors spreading about the exam – that there would be several examiners sitting in on the test and had the power to fail students simply for having the wrong “expression” on your face! The only thing that seemed to calm her nerves was working on her Last Prank. Yumi had made another puppet. It had no ninja weapons to speak of or had any practical use. It took the shape of a small camel spider. Yumi practiced molding her chakra to make all of the legs work independently and made the puppet skitter across her room. But that wasn't going to be enough. Yumi wanted it to be able to climb up walls. She then extended her chakra threads and focusing a fixed amount at the tips of her puppet's spidery legs. But the puppet was so small, Yumi ended up giving the spider's legs too much. This caused the puppet to spring across the room and land pitifully on the floor. Well that would have been enough if I had made a 'jumping spider!' Yumi thought as she frowned. Yumi practiced her chakra control all night until she was able to guide her puppet all across the ceiling. The next morning came quickly and Yumi could barely get out of bed. ”Yumi, dear, its past time for getting up. You have a your big exam today!” her mother called to her. Miso soup filled the aspiring puppeteer's nostrils as she sat up and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. Yumi had only achieved an hour of sleep and her hair was a complete mess. Yumi took off her sleeping clothes and found a fresh pair of capri pants and bounded down the hall – putting on a clean shirt in the process. A bowl of soup and rice ball had been prepared and where sitting on the table. Yumi sat down and looked around the room before resting her gaze on her mother who was sitting across from her. ”Mom, where's Dad?” Yumi asked as she took a bite out of her rice ball. ”Your father went out early. He went to get some clay for some new pots he wants to make. If you had awoken sooner you would have been able to catch him leave,” Yumi's mother replied. ”You were awake all night long, weren't you?” ”No I wasn't...” Yumi tried to lie halfheartedly. The lack of sleep was plain on her face. Yumi's mother shook her head in disapproval, ”I heard noises coming from your room. Didn't I tell you no kunai throwing in the house!?” ”But I wasn't throwing kunai. Honest!” ”Still, you were up when you should have been asleep. Your big exam is today. Here, I packed you some lunch.” ”Thanks, Mom. You're the best.” Yumi said before she slurped the rest of her soup. Yumi stood up and walked over to take her prepared lunch. But before she could get away, her mother embraced her with a big hug and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Yumi raced out of the house and made her way to the academy. She had only reached the second block when Yumi realized she had forgotten something. My spider! she thought. Yumi quickly raced back home as quick as she could and burst through the front door. ”Goodness, Yumi! You almost gave me a heart attack! Well, did you forget something?” ”Uh, yes,” Yumi started to say. ”I forgot a writing device.” Yumi raced into her bed and grabbed her spider puppet which lay beside her bed and stuffed it into her large belt pouch. By the time Yumi reached the academy most of her classmates had already taken their seats. Yumi had planned to arrive sooner to plant her spider when no one was looking and now had to improvise. Yumi stepped into the exam room and gazed around the room. Who should I get today? I could go for Ryu. He's the newest member of the academy and I've never had a chance to prank him yet. He's kinda scary though if he's in one of his moods. I could go for Ishi. He's always trying to one up me! Ugh, I just want to smack his stupid face! Tee hee, I could get Toshiro. He hates being picked on! But he can be scary too, specially if his hair is a certain color. Which color was it? I need to pick fast, else I'm gonna look like a fool just standing here at the exit. Bah, I'll just go for Ishi, again! Yumi walked down the aisle which Ishi was sitting in. When she reached his seat, Yumi took a dive and landed on the floor. ”Oof. Ow, I didn't see your chair leg, Ishi. Sorry about that! Hey! Is anyone sitting here? I just take this seat! Eh-heh, heh, heh...” Yumi exclaimed. Her eyes were closed and she had an awkward smile on her face. Just before Yumi got up and took her seat, the puppeteer reached into her large pouch and tossed her spider on the floor under Ishi's chair. This was when the instructor walked into the room followed by the other examiners. The instructor took his spot behind the stone podium that stood at the head of the classroom. ”Ehem, settle down, everyone. Before we begin, I would like to go over a few things - ” The instructor's monologue came to an abrupt halt as a terrified scream of fright erupted from the back of the hall. “Something” was “crawling” up the leg of one of Yumi's classmates.... Powers: Main: Wings of a Hundred Blades - Hidden within the wings, Hawks is equipped with several retractable blades. Yumi manipulates her puppet so that it's wings open, causing it to twirl and flap near her targets causing several cuts and scrapes. (this is a small AoE attack) Utility: Chakra Threads - Yumi can mold her chakra to project out from her fingertips attaching them to mainly her puppet Hawksvarious items and manipulating those objects from a distance. The strands are visible unless Yumi tries to suppress them. Tool: Deadly Talon Strike - Yumi attacks her target with Hawks' talons which curved and sharp, capable of causing serious wounds and bleeding. This attack is highly reckless. To compensate, Yumi must expend more chakra & concentration than usual to avoid an easy counter attack. (an attack with high crit chance, and a Bleeding DoT)

Step 3: Choose an element of your choice, eg: This character chooses Yang as element. (These normally represent bloodline element or clan technique or just what your proficient with).

Step 4: Choose Skills, select 2 Skills and add +2 to the skill, then select one skill and add +1 to that skill.
eg: I select Perception and Intimidate (So +2 to those skills), then select Athletics for the +1, so +1 to both Dex and Str Athletics checks.

Step 5: Select Traits, Select 2 Birth Traits and 1 Advanced traits. Eg: Intellectual and Social Awareness [Birth Traits] + Genjutsu Weaver [Advance Traits].

Step 6: Determine Health & Chakra, depending on traits taken, your health & chakra might be different, so here are formula for health and chakra (Normal + with Traits).
- Normal Health = 16 + 3 x Stamina Mod (eg: 16 + 3 x 1 = 19 Health).
- Normal Chakra = 12 + 2 x Reserve Mod (eg: 12 + 2 x 2 = 16 Chakra).
- Trait Health = 22 + 3 x Stamina Mod (eg: 22 + 3 x 1 = 25 Health).
