My character's crunch is almost complete, then I'd have to flesh him a bit more with bakground, fluff and roleplay. |

I have finished my character sheet.
I will submit it when a matter is clear: How to pay the cost of activating powers? Vampire has Blood Pool, Mage has Arete, Fae has Glamour. What will we use to activate our power? Or we could activate them unlimited times? |

While Roastbeef will give a more authoritative and complete answer, I can anticipate: Willpower

Gents and Dames,
Glad to hear that people are still fine tuning and working on their characters for this story. Keep it up! Concerning the rules, all of this is very much experimental. I didn't actually sit down and completely write / convert the World of Darkness point-dot system for the Emperor of the Fading Suns universe. This would probably take months of work on my part and quite frankly I don't have the patience or time for such a grandiose project (and even if I did want to take on such a huge project, you never know how air tight your system is until you play test it. You can spend months whipping something up only to find that it doesn't work very well all the same with a group of players). You can be as meticulous as you want and you still can't plan for everything. Hence, as a viable option, I figured it would be quicker and just plain ol`more fun for the players to have them fiddle around with the special abilities. I could imagine myself on your side of the computer screen having fun with this... I'm pretty big on character customization options and having maximum creative control over my own characters. My only intention was to take a rule system that I was somewhat familiar with and use it to replace the official EFS rule system that is not very functional or known by anyone on this site. So, a lot of this is played by the ear on my part... especially with regards to powers and special abilities. So, yes, it is probable that we may find down the road that something doesn't clutch just right... if we hit a wall or something technical down the road, I am open to change and discussion. This will be a pilot project with regards to rules and systems and what not. Yes, in place of blood points or glamour, willpower points will be used where a power requires some kind of point cost for activation. Since this is the case, you will enjoy having more willpower points than usual because I will keep in mind that they are the fuel for some of your powers. I think that the Mage system works good as is and does not need any change. Mages and the Mage system (paradox, arete, avatars) make sense in the EFS setting. The Incarnates (think of them as the Protestants and the Orthodoxy as the Catholics.. Incarnates are present on the world of Iver and are bolstered by House Chauki on that world. As you can imagine, they are seen as heretics by the rest of the Known Worlds) believe that every living being possesses a shard of the eternal flame of the Pancreator within their bodies. They also believe that you do not need to follow a rigid heirarchy to have this flame ignited or used for other purposes...anyways, that's their metaphysical-theological ideology in a nutshell. The Eskatonics also believe this to a lesser degree (although they are careful as they do not want to put their newly won / gained status with the Orthodoxy at risk). Whereas the Orthodoxy (particularly the Red Robes.. conservative branch) believe that aliens and certain other beings / races have different souls and their souls are akin to bended / crooked mirrors that do not reflect back light to the Pancreator. They also believe that only through proper instruction and guidance by the clergy can commonors and the faithful ever hope to having a shred of the divine within them. Anyways, I could go on and on about the Church, but you get the idea. Animal Ken should be on the Talents list of Abilities and *NOT* the Skills. Yet another snafoo on my part. Sorry! With regards to character sheets and official formatting, I'm not picky on this subject. You do not actually have to submit a pdf. gif. jpeg. formatted sheet to me. You can submit your entire sheet just with the standard text on this site either via a private message or a secret text post. Personally, I think this works best when changes need to be done. It's a lot easier for me to just copy and paste your stats / sheet into a word file on my computer and then erase / add / change things than it is to open a .gif file up and play around with the paint program to add dots or whatever. However, if people insist on being stylish and want to go the fancy schmancy character sheet route, you are free to do so as well. You can find many World of Darkness / Vampire the Masquerade / White Wolf etc sites that offer free character sheets for any White Wolf universe system. However, with the changes made by myself to the abilities, attributes and other departments, you will be giving more work to yourself in having to alter them.

Xildur: Thank you very much for the character sheet and your great work. You have a very sweet character there my friend. Good job on the whole..
There are just a few minor technical issues that I have seen on your character sheet. I will send you a PM where I get into the exact details. We do want to keep most of your character information secret after all. As a general message to all players: Remember to think of an alias / fake identity name for your character. Imperial Eye agents working in the field often only use their assumed identities (even with their fellow agents...only the higher ups in the organization have access to their real identities). A few of your characters are already prominently established characters with roots in the community. This is fine and you can have these characters operate out in the open with their real names.

One more thing: Please clearly state in your character sheets which points went where when spent. It would be nice for me to know at first glance where your freebie points went, what attributes / abilities are your primary, tertiary and secondary.. etc.
I do not want to have to play the accountant and start figuring out what went where... and it will just help me out in screening things over more quickly.

Rogue Trader: Thanks for that sheet. I appreciate the effort that you put into that monster of a character sheet.
![]() As i stated earlier, I'm not really all that hardcore about having actual character sheets. Sure, in the real world table top setting character sheets are very helpful to everyone involved. However, on the net and on a computer I can pretty much manage all the rules and character data on my own. As I said, I usually just copy and post everything in a word file that I can look upon when I need to. sageheart. Thanks for the update on that. Again, no need to rush like crazy. You all have a few more days ahead of you. Beez. I just read up on your last updated post with the secret text. AWESOME!!! VERY COOL! I don't want to spoil anything for the other players, but we have a unique cookie on our hands. ![]() ![]() The Rogue Trader. Excellent character from you as well sir. Very nice. ![]() So far, I have Xildur who is the first to have submitted the finished product with regards to his character. Congrats! You may now take a seat in the waiting room and we will all be with you shortly. ![]() Here is a brief look at the current player character work statuses: Xildur. Done and done. ![]() Beez. Almost done. Just missing the finishing touches with regards to the physical description and personality. The Rogue Trader. Almost done. Just a few minor things to go over. sageheart. Work in progress. Early stages. Wineballs. Work in progress. Early stages. Scarabus Almost done. Just needs to add the extra allotted points or re-work the character sheet with more points. Wolesz. Work in progress. Early stages. bgfnjk. Work in progress. Early stages.

Sacarabus: Understandable. The only thing that you have left to do is just allocate your extra points on your sheet. The bulk of your work is done.
A word with regards to character equipment: At the present time, I envisage the player characters starting this campaign on a House Decados chartered Charioteer small freighter star ship on it's way towards the world of Pandemonium. Due to the high volume of academic - highly educated - archeology oriented PCs, a very much logical cover story is that your group is heading to Pandemonium to seek out new dig sites and other hidden treasures that the world possesses. The characters will have been briefed about their point of contact upon arriving on that world, but in the meantime they are to do nothing that will bring them unwanted attention. Thus, your starting equipment / weapons will be kept to a bare minimum. It wouldn't do to have a supposed archeological team armed to the teeth with blaster rifles, explosives and military grade personal shielding. However, upon hitting Pandemonium, your group will be informed as to the nearby whereabouts of a weapons - equipment cache that will be yours to plunder as you see fit. Also, if any of your characters have a decent Streetwise / Haggling ability (or other related abilities), the very vibrant black market of Pandemonium will perhaps open it's doors to you.

Welcome back Mr.bgfnjk!
Alright, I've taken in your newly updated secret text. Everything seems kosher to me. Looks good! Your character concept is accepted. You have the green light to go ahead and get into the nitty gritty of character creation.
