Alright here's a brief review of everyone's app, if I don't get any more interest in the next few days we'll go ahead and start with everyone who made an app.

Xiasmus: Your app looks good, though unless your alien ages different you're too old. 10-14 remember? If you were to add anything I would like to see your characters goals, and general oppinion of sith/the academy.

Darays: I'd like to see your goals as well, also it's worth noting that the master doesn't teach alchemy formally, at best you could pick things up working as an assistant for him.

Tiax: Your app looks really good, though I'd like to know a little bit about you at the academy. How long you've been there, how your training is going, how you get along with the others...

Alatere: I like your app a lot too, very unique and good amount of details. Be warned though you will need some combat, the master of the academy respects strength above all else. Though if you could make yourself useful you might end up on very favorable terms with him.

Ultrasmurf: I like it a lot, you kept it simple and that is by no means a bad thing. Though I wouldn't mind more details about his life at the academy, especially how long he's been around.

BangBangTequilla: I like yours a lot too, though I'd like to know if you have any goals.

Jasontheswift: Excellent, I like just about everything about your app.

I'd thought to put Tzua in the group that had been at the academy for one year. I'm glad to write up how I think he might fit in there. I'll try to get that added tonight.

I had three paragraphs of personality and another two in a background detailing a homebrew ice planet and I hit some button on my keyboard that sent me back three pages and I lost it all!

Hmm, how Iliana's training is going would depend on how the atmosphere is in the academy. At the moment of her arrival (and some time after), she is somewhat quiet, reserved, and standoffish.

If the other students consist of a lot of bullies (and it looks like it just might), that would be a motivator for her to focus on her training. Her teacher would advocate for confidence and charm, and use of the force as a last resort. "Never show your true power if a simple sentence will change the battle. Better to hide your most powerful weapons, as they are the most messy and difficult to clean up after." That doesn't mean she won't be learning force powers--that is still a major component of her training.

How Iliana gets along with other students will depend on how long she has been training. If she has arrived recently, she would keep to herself and focus mainly on the instructions and training goals. If she has been there for a while, she will likely display more confidence. Since diplomacy is different for each individual, she would take a personal approach to each student, learning a bit from each of them and adapting her interactions with them to learn and to her benefit.

In all, she actually doesn't want to be here, but there isn't anything left for her anywhere else. She has forgotten about her extended family members in the darkness of her own self-pity. To her, the training is a necessity and vengeance against the killer of her parents deserves a far more complete defeat than simple death.

Basically, if we are setting how long we've been at the academy, her first level abilities would probably require some time to acquire since she has no real class or levels yet.

Zazaq - I've done a lot of thinking about this application, and what makes her unique to me. Let me know if my update helps you decide whether Savak is a good fit for you.

I added some information about my character's views on the academy to my application. I'm working with the assumption that the sith code is something that the academy master buys into and teaches. If not, maybe Tzua just worked out the basic idea of it on his own.

I've been toying with the concept and trying to make it fit in my mind for some time, and I don't think my current background will work. I'm going to instead make him a noble son from a core world, or maybe from Mandalore. Actually, son of a deathwatch rebel would fit his mentality and thought process well.

Anyway, don't take my background into account yet. I'll be scrapping the whole thing and redoing it with one that flows better. There's nothing worse then writing a concept that doesn't gel in your mind.

I think the one I have now was largely due to seeing the new Star Wars on Friday. Jakku was lodged right in there.

I've got an old application from the first Sith Academy game from way back that I really want to retrofit for this game. The following is work in progress as I'm essentially updating and expanding an old application...

 

- TAROOK AGNOR Pit droids donning Tarook's battle attire in one of his future battles in the service of the Sith Race: Houk Age: 17 (Mentally an adolescent) Gender: Male Class: Soldier Tarook is a frontliner, yet he isn't your standard blaster slinging soldier or graceful and dexterous Jedi. The hefty Houk is essentially a walking tank that uses his immense strength to crush his foes with his mighty power hammer. He is also a fan of heavy armour. A bit of a contrast from your typical lightsabre melee types and more a strength and constitution class of brute. Game Role: Tarook is probably the physically strongest yet most unintelligent and influential of the apprentices. He will probably end up being the right hand of one of the more manipulative apprentices. He solves problems through direct applications of brute force, often leaving a trail of carnage in his wake. Physical Description: Tarook during his days at the Academy Despite being years from maturity Tarook stands at an impressive 6'7". His looming stature is complemented by his frightening mass, which is comprised of an inhuman amount of both fat and muscle. Currently, his raw physical strength is his greatest asset. In fact was the probably the reason behind Tarook's purchase by Zygerrian slavers, as a Houk slave's physical might can only be matched by perhaps a Wookiee. Also, one must remember that Tarook is still a youth far from his prime. Despite being larger and stronger than most full grown men, he is still expected to grow considerably. Tarook's apparel tends to be both simple and practical, however he does have one distinguishing piece of clothing. The Houk seems to always wear tattered old poncho that he refuses to remove in most occasions. Both trainers and students have be indiscriminately subjected to Tarook's horrific berserker rage should they attempt to interfere with what seems to be another unassuming rag. Personality: Although years of slavery have taught Tarook to be extremely obedient, he seems to have also developed a personal strong sense of loyalty and duty. If the Sith wish for this young Houk to be treacherous, it is something that must be physically taught. Whilst Tarook excels at physical feats of power, the mental capacity of this brute is not as impressive as some of his other colleagues. This trait when combined with his strong sense of loyalty can make Tarook impressionable at times and easily open to influence. With such traits, one may begin question whether Tarook really has what it takes to be a Sith. However, they should not be so hasty as to dismiss the hate that brews within the Houk. A terrible rage that if properly refined and directed, could one day be the most fearsome force in the galaxy. This can be a jarring thought for most as for the majority of the time the Houk appears submissive and timid in the face of authority. However, all it takes is one wrong word or action to turn a quite giant into 400 lbs of bone crushing, limb tearing terror. Background: Prior to the Academy Just three short months ago, a lone Sith sat patiently alongside two of his recruitment candidates within a large mansion on Zygerria. It was from here that the Sith planned to adopt his third candidate, a young force sensitive Zygerrian born of an incredibly wealthy father. However, before the Sith's departure the Zygerrian candidate’s father arrogantly insisted that his guest bare witness to practical display of his son's power. It is common knowledge that Zygerrian's are keen practisers of slavery and this household was definitely no exception. In fact it was through the expense of many unfortunate slaves that the young Zygerrian candidate had acquired most of his combat experience. This time the boy was to be pitted against a young Houk male, a supposedly easy foe to warm up on before he moved on to more impressive opponents. The young Zygerrian’s agility was astounding and his skill with a blade was incredible for someone of his age. He gracefully circled around the frighted Houk slave, who in return only winced and recoiled in fear. As the time passed, the young Zygerrian became increasingly concerned that the Sith would think less of him for sparring with what seemed to be such an unworthy foe. When it became clear that the Houk would not strike first, the young Zygerrian angrily jabbed at beast in the hope that it would at least put up a little resistance before it was finished off. Unfortunately, the young Zygerrian got exactly what he wanted. When the seemingly timid Houk looked upon his wound he was driven into a rage so intense it was worthy of even a Sith’s attention. The enraged Houk descended upon the young Zygerrian, who tried in vain to dodge the iron grasp of the brute. Once pinned there was little hope for the once cocky Zygerrian. In bind fury the Houk tore into the boy, removing limbs with his bare hands. The candidate’s father, who had been staring on in horror the entire time, quickly ordered the slave’s immediate execution. But the Sith had other plans… Impressed with the Houk’s bloody performance, he decided to test the beast to his absolute limits. The Sith ordered his remaining two candidates, a female Human and male Gotal, to engage the frenzied monster. A gruesome display of carnage followed as the two young candidates fared no better than their former peer. Both were dispatched in violent displays that only further intrigued the Sith. When the battle was finished and all three of his candidates lay maimed and dead, he approached the Houk and simply asked for its name. The Houk managed to stutter back the title "Tarook Agnor" and a weak apology for damage he had inflicted. This amused the Sith greatly, who proclaimed that one should never apologies for such raw displays of "talent". It seemed that that an apprentice could yet be made of this unassuming slave.

It looks awesome Hack, though I'm worried I might actually have to not accept everyone now. 7 was pushing it, I think 8 might be where I draw the line.

I'm sorry for the novel! It is a little unwieldy, because I simply wrote it all as it came to me, and I will try to clean it up a little tomorrow after a good night's sleep and a big cup of coffee, but that is the general gist of Krynn's origins. There will be another two paragraphs or so for his time at the academy, but nothing that is anywhere close to as detailed. I threw in enough reference to canon that the other fans of it should enjoy his family's part in galactic history, but kept the Jarr'yll clan out of the limelight.

Anyway, I wrote him as a 5-year student, but if that doesn't fit, or someone would like to do a character tie-in, please don't hesitate to send ideas my way. I like to be flexible and work with whoever would like to as much as I can - two person stories are always so much fun!
