[D&D-5e] Yeohven: Fall from Grace

The discontinuity between a horrid scary evil necromancer and a small cheerful person dressed in pink who can't help herself from messing around with forbidden magics is what the character is built around. No problem using human or something instead of gnome; missed that the societies weren't racially integrated when I skimmed the notes.

This is based on a lot of people I know who have drug, alcohol, or eating disorders and who tend to fluctuate between denial and an attitude that they are helpless to help themselves . . . basically most of my family and half my friends. Doesn't make them bad people even if they are taking opioids, just nice people doing bad things.

I have a tendency to look for weird combinations of personality and powers to try to find a unique voice. If it doesn't fit, no worries and best of luck. I will probably make her human over the weekend to try to better fit the world's history. Thanks for the feedback.

King Cobra Name: Ophiophagus Hannah, better known as King Cobra or just King Race: Dragonblood Class: Bard Alignment: N/N Appearance: King is an attractive man, but even out of costume he shows a few signs of his heritage. Green scales run up the sides of his neck, his forearms, and his shins, and his eyes never seem to blink. OF course, being an entertainer, many people just assume it's makeup; part of the act. Background: Gladiator (professional wrestler/luchador). King is a professional bad guy, a heel in wresting terms. He stirs up the crowd, insults people, and generally gets taken down in the end by the clean cut fully human hero of the show. I’m sure you are asking, how did one of the true dragon blood get brought so low as to be an entertainer for humans? Well, it involved making bad decisions and bad enemies to where I had to flee the empire. Now I go masked in public and no one knows my face. I do wrestle well, though a true dragon blood warrior would not be fooled, and when I use spells, I am careful not to get caught. What you'd like to get from this game: I enjoy the site. I enjoy the interaction. I enjoy putting on a new and different personality for each different character I run. The inventiveness and intelligence of the people here constantly amaze me. RPG Safety Tools: Only thing I've ever triggered on is bullying of players by other players. Roleplaying is fine but when 2 or 3 gang up on another player and all start picking on them at once, it can make a game a lot less enjoyable. Unless, of course, the victim chose to play a goblin or the like and being a victim is part of their identity. NPC: (Friendly): Hiram Truman isn't his actual name of course. It's the one Bawani had given him when he hired him on for his little wrestling show. Hiram isn't even a wrestler, though he's learned a lot since he started, just a big strong farm boy who looks like a hero. When they do shows and wrestle a member of the audience, they let King wrestle the older, more cunning ones, and Hiram wrestles the local blacksmith or other village strongman. Still, it was a living after his family was killed and their farm burned out by marauders and he had gotten used to the new routine until now. Now, Bawani had disappeared with all the money, leaving Hiram and King stranded here and on their own. King had always talked about adventuring and Hiram knew King had illegal mage skills but he also knew that King would be there for him if he ever needed him. He didn't want to adventure and risk his life for real. Maybe he could hook on as a watchman or a bartender/bouncer and find a nice rich girl to marry. A new chapter in his life was starting. (Friendly): Malinda Cooper (Maddy) was the only daughter of the barrelmaker/wheelwright. With no sons, her father let her run a bit wild and she had run through the local available men. King seemed fun and exotic and he carried himself like a lord. It had been a one night thing for both of them but then King's wrestling circus had disappeared, leaving him stranded in town and the one night thing had continued. Maybe she could get him to give up on this wandering live and marry her; even if not, he's the first man in a long time that didn't make her feel cheap or easy but like a lady. (Hostile): Bawani Ishaan had been a lot of things in his long life. The half elf had run legal and illegal operations, straight jobs and cons. The wrestling show had been just the latest. A couple of local yokels to be the hero and the heel, careful selection of audience members to wrestle them, a lot of travel which was a good thing right then. There wasn't much money but there was some and he's been holding the splits for both of his performers as well. Unfortunately, the past is never far away and when Bawani saw a couple of all too familiar faces at a performance, he knew it was time to travel. So, he took the money, anything of value that could be carried easily, "borrowed" a horse, and headed out. There's be other shows, other scams, and one nice thing about being a half elf is you outlive a lot of your problems eventually.
