I read it over. Let's see how it plays out. I am intrigued enough by the mechanics to give it a shot.
With these two applications, we are now up to 18 complete. Last edited by G in Japan; May 18th, 2017 at 10:43 PM. |

GinJapan, I wonder what you think about a Deaf Character? I wanted to be a wizard and I justified how she learned the arcane arts though the deaf people aren't good about using their voice or capable of speaking properly. (Like the use of and Familiar to hear how she speak and arrange the sound to learn to cast spell with her voice or how she use the spell of minor Illusion to speak with other using her teacher's voice).
I'm aware of the terrible flaws that a deaf have to bear as a Deaf person (like the automatic fails in perception checks in hearing though she can understand people Because since she was a child she learned to read people's lips. SO she have the Observant feat) but I want to play that kind of character for the challenge that might bring upon her! ![]()

[SAY]If you can see a creature’s mouth while it is speaking a language you understand, you can interpret what it’s saying by reading its lips./SAY] So I find pretty interesting to work out in that part about it. Like she can read lips but not that accurate until she got the feat? I was thinking she use the familiar to learn the verbal part of the spell because like when you use a spell she repeat the same word always. And for talking she use the minor spell because she tend to speak like a 2 years child and she feel embarrassed to someone knows about it.

I've been trying to come up with an idea for a character for a while but nothing has clicked. One question that might help though, what exactly constitutes a "monstrous" race?

Since variant humans are a no-go, I will be switching Crow's race to Wood Elf. Will edit character sheet accordingly.

Name: Thovik Brickbeard
Race: Mountain Dwarf Class: Cleric (Tempest Domain) Background: Sailor Personality
Backstory
History: Originally from Mirabar, Thovik was assigned to protect a shipment of ore leaving port in Luskan for Waterdeep. The ship was set upon by pirates shortly after leaving port and boarded. The crew was offered the choice of death or piracy, Thovik chose to live. Not long after the pirate ship set sights on what appeared to be a merchant vessel that turned out to be a group of priests heading north to offer their service in vile Luskan. As a terrible storm blew in, the pirate captain ordered the death of all the priests. Thovik could remain in chains no longer and challenged the captain. As he raised his hammer to deliver a strike, lightning split the sky into Thovik who then channeled the energy through his hammer into the pirate captain killing the villain. The stunned crew swore some deity had blessed Thovik and relinquished control of the ship to him. He directed the vessel to Waterdeep and left the sea behind. He spent some time working odd jobs in a local theatre, allowing wizards to experiment on him, and acquiring a nasty gambling habit. After a bad experience with some bookies left him bloodied and broken, Thovik retreated into the mountains to ponder his life. Returning from his self imposed exile, he found a temple and dedicated himself to Marthammor Duin, the dwarven god of guides, travelers, expatriots, explorers, and lightning. Thovik has recently left the temple and Waterdeep to head back north, serve Marthammor Duin, and perhaps return home to face his failure.
