On that note, I'm actually going to push that out to the 3rd of July (same time and whatnot).

The past week I've been battling sickness and been bogged down with work; and I think all these apps deserve a review for the sake of fairness and just... like... it's clear you've all put a lot of thought into these apps!

Every one has been a real journey- and I wish I could take you all! (Though that'd put the kibosh on the small group thing, wouldn't it?)

New concept, we angry mob running around the dales rioting? Maybe have the dale leaders meeting for an economic conference the players have to disrupt. Side missions of smashing windows of taverns who refuse to serve half orcs and half elves?

Where the North Wind Blows Name: Ka'ina Race: Air Genasi Class: Monk Background: Entertainer Age: 22 Gender: Female Alignment: Chaotic good Traits: I have trouble staying focused sometimes. Though I try to stay on task there are times when ooh! Shiny! Ka'ina is the definition of a free spirit and there seems to be no buffer between thought and action with her. Her moods and motives change with the wind. Having a good time is usually near the top of her list of priorities though. Ideal: Everyone should be free to pursue their own destiny. Ka'ina has never felt true constraint in her life and believes no one else should either. She can be an instigator, prodding others to act on their desires and throw off whatever constraints are holding them back. However this is tempered by the belief that everyone is entitled to the same courtesy, and that exploring ones own freedom should not come at the expense of another. The "good" in her alignment is a reflection of this more than a guiding principle. Bond: The voices on the wind guide me to my destiny. Though I may live for the moment, those whispers are my center. Despite her wild and unpredictable nature, Ka'ina stays focused on her overall goal. She feels her wild and free-spirited nature is a part of her goal.   Though humanoid in form, Ka'ina is clearly not human. Her skin is white with a pale hint of blue, long, pure white hair hangs down to her knees, and her eyes are pale blue with no visible pupils. Pale blue markings adorn her shoulders, biceps, and back like tattoos except that the markings shift and change as if they were blowing in a breeze that was a part of her skin, which is not far from the truth. Her ears are slightly pointed like those of an elf, which among other things leads her to believe that she has some fey blood in her veins, but the rest is otherworldly. Her hair is always wild and seems to drift and blow in the breeze even when the air is still and her voice has a melodious tone even when just speaking normally. Ka'ina is tall with a lean and lithe build, quick and graceful in her movements. She almost bounces more than walks, as though she finds contact with the earth distasteful, which again is not far from the truth. Her dress tends to be practical and again changes as often as the wind though loose-fitting clothes and flowing sashes are typical. She carries with her a long staff with holes at the end and a longbow.   Ka'ina has no idea who her parents are, she's never met either of them. Her mother was a half-elven bard who toured through Calimshan and her father was a djinn in the service of a shah who fell for her after hearing her perform for his master's court but she neither knows any of this nor cares. She was found as a newborn on the seat of a wagon that was part of a carnival traveling through Calimshan, a carnival that her mother performed with a few times and knew to be good people. The great beast tamer was even a member of the Harpers, using the carnival as cover while gathering information on the goings-on in the south. She was taken in by the carnival without question, her strange appearance and obvious elemental nature considered a good omen in Calimshan. Ka'ina was raised as the collective daughter of the carnival, traveling with them as she grew up throughout Calimshan and beyond. Gifted with grace and agility and possessing a flair for performance it was only natural that she would begin training and join the carnival as a performer, as an acrobat of course. She took to work on the trapeze quickly, soaring through the air coming naturally to her. In time her act would end in dramatic fashion as she would"slip" from her partner's grasp and plummet to the ground to the gasps and horror of the crowd, only to have the very winds catch her and gently return her to earth. Her talents would branch into music and dance in time, her costumes getting a lot skimpier once she got older. She never minded though, the physical form always seemed somehow alien to her anyway. All in all she was quite happy, wanting for nothing and enjoying the freedom that life in a carnival brought, yet always feeling that something was missing. She was never formally trained as a monk in the traditional sense, but her acrobatics lent themselves to that style of fighting, which was a necessity in the carnival due to their proclivity of traveling through dangerous lands. Several years ago she began to hear whispers on the winds of Cslimshan. They told her that her destiny was not with the carnival, nor even on this world. There was a reason she never truly felt she belonged. A reason why she felt her physical form was a burden. She was among the few prime-worlders who had the capacity to transcend her mortal form and join the pure, primal element of air. She would embrace her true heritage and become a free, unbound air elemental, free to explore the great palaces of the djinn and the eternal storms of the great thunderhead that surrounded them. But the journey would be long, and she would have much to learn and much to prove. Her journey would begin in the north, in a commune with the storm spirits at the top of the Thunder Peaks in the land known as High Dale. To be technical, her journey would begin with the journey there, a journey she has recently completed as she has arrived in the Dalelands eager to see what they offer.   I've been playing FR since 1st edition and enjoyed most incarnations of it (*cough* 4th edition...) The Sword Coast might get all the glory but the Dales have always been its heart. I'm looking for the chance to have adventures other than kick in door, kill monster, take treasure. I think a lot of "modern" adventures have an obvious MMO influence that the Dales seem to have avoided.   Quite simply, Ka'ina is looking to transcend into an air elemental. Not so simply, it's the journey, not the destination. The experiences she gains in pursuit of this goal are just as, if not more important than the goal itself. Mindlessly plodding ahead in a straight line is fine for an earth elemental, but an air elemental goes where it wills and gets to where it is going when it does, not sooner. An air elemental who has seen nothing of the world around it is a failure of an elemental.
