Plot Summary: Bleakhaven Preparatory School for Gifted Youth In a time long past, inherently evil monsters terrorized the races of man and were subsequently slayed by strong adventurers and armies of men but as the ages progressed and many 'monsters' began to realize their inevitable end they began to feel the need to adapt. Many sentient creatures that resembled monsters but with more moral ambiguity soon were born from their inherently evil predecessors, a way of adapting in order to survive. You can't hold it against any creature to want to survive, right? In modern day, a safe haven has been established, for the less than human denizens of the land, formerly called 'monsters' but what is a monster, really? According to some, a monster is anything that isn't human but with ancient magics and some new-fangled ingenuity, even horrific undead creatures can appear to be human and is this enough? At Bleakhaven Preparatory School for Gifted Youth, the offspring of formerly evil creatures can learn and grow into productive members of society. Troublesome new habits and changes when puberty hits? Hair growth in strange places, new and interesting urges towards the opposite sex or just a hunger for human flesh that wasn't there before? Bleakhaven Preparatory School for Gifted Youth can help with that. In the sprawling urban area of upstate New York, hidden in plain sight in the center of the city, is the most exclusive campus of all, Not even the wealthiest of the elites can buy their children in, unless they have a particular issue, that is, of being way less than human or more than human. The descendants of Formerly evil denizens from all over world come to Bleakhaven School to help them cope with their new pubescent urges and to teach them to not accidentally deactivate their Glamour spells. Whether your parents gave you 'The Talk' and broke it to you that you are the descendant of some terrific and once-horrible creature that used to openly roam and ravage the world or not, you are now realizing that you are far different than the other kids in your school and because of that you are being sent to New York, USA to realize your true potential and learn how to use it to become a productive member of society because at our school, "We are the monsters, we are the future.""Nos Novercae Monstra Manu Sumus, In Posterum." Today is your first day, having packed your things and gotten on a bus, plane or car, you have finally arrived at the bustling front walk of the walled and gated campus. The alabaster stone sidewalk leads up through a metal gate that swings inward and up to the main doors of the main academic building. You walk up the sidewalk, shoulder past a few other students and enter the main building. Inside the black and white checkerboard style tiles lead you to a bustling cafeteria where you have to sign in and get your assigned schedules. The large room with brick walls and support columns is already filled to bursting with other students, you have to Difficult terrain, half movement.literally squeeze and push your way between people to make your way across the room. You finally make your way to the sign in table where mostly cheery senior students greet you with the school motto like rhetoric, a way of life, if nothing else. With your new schedule in hand, you make your way back out of the cafeteria and into the hallway that will take you back outside and to the appropriate dorm building. This moment in time, aside from the fact that you might or might not know why you are attending this special school, you also get the feeling that it's not all of what it seems to be. Passing by trophy cases full of old pictures gives you the idea that this school has been here for a long time, maybe not always as a school but it's always been here, seemingly unnoticed by the world around it.

Staff:   Our Esteemed principal has been with us for ages and really cares about the students and the creatures within, Principal Alexander Emberscarr will watch over us all.   Miss Akiko Yuun is our vice-principal and runs a tight ship when the Principal is indisposed or absent.   Mr. Gordon Craddock is our resident History professor. He is a particular specialist on history since he lived through it and witnessed a lot of it first hand.   Mr. Jonathan Finch is our resident math professor, he loves numbers more than anyone in the known verse and believes that knowledge is power. He is here to charge every student with knowledge that they need to survive.   Miss Georgina Bordeaux is our resident magical curriculum monitor and has got an eye on all the students with magical potential, looking to educate and help students manage their innate magical talents.   Miss Anastasia Romanov is our resident language arts and English teacher. She has a passion for words and sentence structure, being a writer and poet in her own right with lots of time to have practiced it.   Mister Richard Daniels is our resident science professor. A mild eccentric but for good reason, he is an chemistry genius comparable to Zosimos of Panopolis or Mary the Jewess, actually having worked alongside both of them.   Mister Clark Baxter is our instructor of physical education and health. He allows the students to take on their inherent forms and practice their skills because through knowing what you can do, you can better manage yourself.

Playable Races: -I have attempted to compile a list of the cooler monsters in DnD 5e, Ideally looking at monsters that have a CR of 5. I'm not looking for min-maxers, There is hopefully going to be alot of situations where peaceful diplomacy will be needed as once your character's glamour is dispelled it won't be that easy to re-cast it. While you won't be whipping out your monster powers or natural forms all the time, that's not to say you won't ever get to fight something. Gothic Hogwarts/Vampire Dairies/Rosario+Vampire. GM's: Hello, I am Arthilian01 and I will be the main GM but for this large and complicated endeavor I have recruited a Co-GM, Jreid. They are new to GMing but not new to DnD and they will also be playing alongside you, I believe.

OOC So, I need another game like I need to gain an extra ten pounds (hint, I need to lose 50). However, I found something oddly compelling about the application and Jia just kind of grew in my brain.

Application: Name: Jia Ai Race: Chinese/Succubus Personality: Jia is a girl in search of a true friend, or two. Between her looks and her magic, she can have anyone madly in love with her in seconds. However, she knows that the feeling is due to her magic. Consequently, Jia distrusts any relationships. Jia can appear bi-polar alternating between insolating herself from people and throwing herself into a frenzy of being the life of the party. Jia is also subject to an increasing desire to sample the essence of other creatures. Jia is deeply ashamed of the desire but finds herself oddly compelled to act on it. Since her initial near fatal kiss, Jia's parents have taught her how to take small sips from creatures. On occasion, Jia will go out to a nightclub and take a sip from a human, the experience is incredibly intoxication, but fills her with disgust. Appearance: As Jia can shape change, she can look like anyone or anything she wants to be. Normally, Jia tries for a plain look - slim and lean with a bland face. However, Jia does not have complete control over her shapeshifting abilities and so sometimes, her body will shift to look a little more alluring a little more attractive. When Jia wants, she can break the 10 point scale. Backstory: Until she hit puberty, Jia thought she and her family were Chinese immigrants growing up in the United States. Jia was the typical tomboy, playing sports, going camping and hiking. She had a close circle of friends who were into the same activities as she was. At puberty, Jia underwent a metamorphosis that changed her life. Initially, she blossomed into a devastatingly gorgeous girl. Unfortunately, all of the girls in class immediately became jealous and all of the boys began tripping over themselves. Jia found that she could easily 'convince' people to do things for her, even becoming her friends. Jia quickly became the most popular girl and school. She was cruising towards be elected Class President, when one fateful night, she brought her boyfriend home. Jia decided she wanted to experience what it would be like to 'go all the way'. Unfortunately, one good kiss from Jia sent the boy into cardiac arrest. Fortunately, her parents were at home and managed to resuscitate the boy. It was a tearful night as Jia's mother explained that while they were immigrants they were not from China. As well, they explained a little bit about the 'desires' that would emerge in her, to siphon off the life access of humans. RP Sample:   After she almost killed her boyfriend, Jia's mother, Chen, sat Jia down and revealed that neither Jia nor her mother, were immigrants from China. It took a few shape changes and a trip to the Ethereal plane for Jia to begin to believe her mother. As soon as Jia began to believe, she pestered her mother with questions. "What about Father? What type of demon is he?" Chen chuckled "Your father is human, but he is a very special man. He works hard to provide for the two of us and protect us. There are many that would hunt us down, the Agents of the Light, the hunters who hunt all creatures light or dark. As well, many of our fellow fiends would attack me, and now you for falling away from the great conflict. However, who would expect a dutiful Chinese wife of being a fiend." "But, but you are so obedient to him. Why not charm him and tell him what to do?" Chen chuckles "Your father always wants what is best for me. Why should I argue when his top priority is to please me." "So How can you kiss dad and... and do other things without hurting him?" "I will show you how to control your gift to drink from who you choose and how much. Some delight is drinking a person dry, claiming that the final gasp of life tastes like no other. Personally, I found that it is dangerous to drink people dry, it quickly brings the hunters. As to your father, he and I have an understanding. While he would gladly give of his essence, I do my hunting elsewhere."   Chen explained to Jia "In many ways, the actual charming of a creature is the easiest part. The more difficult part is finding your prey. The most important part of hunting is to establish no pattern. Your locations, timing, and even your choice of prey must be varied. While we are predators and hunt from need, there are many who hunt for sport -Angel, Devils and worst of all the dreaded 'adventurers' who hunt us merely for the thrill of the chase. Stepping into someone's bedroom, to find a Paladin with a Demon Slaying Blade is truly terrifying. Fortunately, the Barbarian with her was far more susceptible to my charms." "For now, we will try something easy - teenagers. They are incredibly horny, with so little outlet and so easy to seduce. We are doing them a favor by skimming a little sexual energy off the top." Chen and Jia went out and got into Chen's car. As they were driving, Chen explained "Hunting around where you live is dangerous. Many organizations keep track of 'paranormal' sightings and create maps. As well, we can drive much faster and further than we can travel on the Ethereal Plane." The two women pulled up at a McDonalds and proceeded to walk into women's bathroom. Once in the bathroom, Jia followed her mother onto the material plane, to receive a bit of maternal advice "Remember to check before you shift back into the material plane. Normally, mundanes are oblivious to what is going on around them and will simply write it off as they did not hear you. In contrast, adventurers are a paranoid lot. They will instinctively try to kill you." It was a short journey on the Ethereal Plane to a nearby house where a teenager was fast asleep in his bedroom. Chen and Jia shifted back onto the material plane and Chen motioned for silence. Chen Charming himlooked at the boy for a few moments. Chen gently shook the boy waking him. It was obvious from his dazed expression that he was charmed. Chen asked the boy "And what is your name?" "Tommy." "And Tommy when you dream, who do you dream about." "Mrs. Johnson." Chen shifted into an attractive middle-aged woman and asked "And what do you imagine me doing to your Tommy?" Chen whispered to Jia "It isn't necessary to actually have sex with them. You can use your charm to have them fantasize about having fantastic sex. However, I like to leave a satisfied customer behind. Another benefit of teen-ager is that they have good recovery, but little endurance." Tommy slumping back on the bed after less than a minute demonstrated one of Chen's assertion and Tommy's response when Jia knelt down to replicate her mother's actions, demonstrated the other of Chen's assertions. On the way back home, Chen continued to tutor Jia "Eventually, you will want to try charming people who are awake. As well, do not always rely on merely your ability to charm people. Sometimes it is better to simple 'persuade' them to your point of view. As well, you may need to use your skills to separate one of the prey from the rest of the herd. Next week, we will go 'clubbing' you can practice more in one evening at a nightclub than a week in most other locations. Just beware, many other hunt in clubs as well."   Jia thought a bit "Are there boy succubi? Incubi?" Chen laughed "Incubus and Succubus are a myth made up by humans. We can shapeshift into anything we want to be male, female and various sexes in-between. As well, you will find your charms equally compelling regardless of the sex or preference of your partner. Sometimes, I find it humorous to shift into a male and seduce another male that thinks he only likes women." Sometime later, Jia adjusted the pants again. Jia still could not quite get used to the extra 'body part' and thought"How do boys deal with that thing." Jia bypassed the line and walked up the bouncer at the nightclub. Jia was underage, had no id and no money for the cover charge. Unlike past expeditions, a smile and a brief bit of flirting did not work. So, Jia used her charms on the bouncer and his eyes glazed over and he let Jia into the club. Jia's experience inside the club has different as well. In the past, men had come up to Jia, asking to dance, offering drinks. As Jia looked towards the women, they appeared to be in groups of two to six. Suddenly, it all made sense. Prey clusters together for mutual protection, while predators stalk their prey alone. Jia realized that while Jia was the predator in the past, Jia had looked like prey. Looking like prey made it easier to bring down the predator. Jia thought for a moment, Jia lacked the money to buy a woman a drink, one of the two gambits she had experienced. So, it was time to ask someone to dance. Jia scanned the room and zeroed in on a table of six women, five living it up and having a good time. The sixth looks uncomfortable and out of place. Still, Jia was not one to take chances and used her charm on the sixth, before coming up and asking her to dance. Jia quickly found out that the sixth was called Sally. Sally worked with the other five at a publishing house and had been convinced to come to the club with them, due to her lack of social life. Jia led Sally back to the table and sat down with her. This immediately, started a flurry as the other five women introduced themselves and began flirting with Jia, who had introduced they as Jack. Jia though "Just like prey or carrion scavagers. They squabble over what one has found, but lack the courage to go hunting for their own." Jia accepted offers to dance with the various women but always came back to sit with Sally. With each dance, Jia would take a little sip of the lifeforce off the women. As far as Jia was concerned it was their penance for trying to poach Sally's find. Although if they had realized what Jia actually was, they would all have run from the club screaming. Sally paid for Jia's drinks that evening, as was appropriate. Jia was aware that she needed to get home for curfew and decided to leave Sally with a parting gift. Jia and Sally left the club together, much to the surprise of Sally's friends. Outside the club, Jia gave the charmed Sally a few memories before letting her go home alone. Sally would imagine that after a night of mind-blowing sex, Jack had announced that he was an agent for the CIA and had to leave for Afganistan in the morning. On the way home to her parents' 11 PM curfew, Jia mused on what they had learned. Regardless of what they looked like on the outside, on the inside, Jia was still a predator, one who needed to feed off the essence of others. Unanswered questions hung in the back of Jia's mind, could predator's have friends, did being a predator make you a bad person and perhaps the scariest of all, how to survive when the hunters came for the predators.

Application Name: Allison Doherty Race: Vampire Spawn Personality: Allison would rather make a new friend than a new enemy. Flattery is her preferred trick to get people to do what she wants. When what she wants is blood, she has been known to pretend to be more into someone than she actually is so that she can get inside their veins. Appearance: Allison appears to be a human with ice blue, almost gray eyes. Her skin tone is very pale, at that comes from the fact that she is actually a vampire spawn. She wears her auburn hair long, and has learned to apply makeup to help mask her undead nature. Backstory: When puberty began, so did the hunger. When her parents noticed her positively salivating when the human boy who lived next door came over to cut their lawn. Of course, as vampires they didn't have any business being exposed to the sun. That meant subcontracting. With her vampiric traits emerging, Allison's parents sat her down and gave her the talk. Allison thought it was going to be a talk about what can happen when a boy sticks his you know what in a girl's you know where... She wasn't prepared for the subject of the actual talk. She thought they were full of it and just pulling her chain. Allison decided she was going to put an end to this nonsense and prove them wrong, so she stepped outside into the sunlight. She immediately retreated back into the house, crying, as her skin felt like it was literally on fire the second she was exposed to direct sunlight without any kind of sunscreen or physical barrier to protect her from the harmful UV rays. Her parents weren't joking, and now they have sent her away to a special school that is supposed to be for people like her, monsters... RP Sample: Allison hadn't been at Bleakhaven Preparatory School for Gifted Youth all of five minuets yet, and she already wanted to crack open one of the special "juice boxes" in her lunchbox. Of course, they were really blood packets. Being nervous made her thirsty, but since she only had two Allison knew she had to ration them to get her through the school day. The truth was, she didn't know what to think. The experience was new and puberty was enough of a pain without having to deal with this mess about her being some kind of monster. She lost count of the number of times she had put that 2003 song by Metallica on repeat. It came out the year she was born. Was she born? She didn't feel like she knew anything anymore. Where did she even come from? How much of what she thought she knew had been a lie? All Allison could think to do now was to make the best of this messed up situation. She squeezed and pushed her way thought the sea of less than humanity, feeling quite certain that someone had squished her boob on purpose. If she could identify the culprit, she probably would have bitten them to teach them some manners. She couldn't be sure it wasn't an accident, but it certainly hadn't felt accidental. Eventually she claimed her schedule. English II; Chinese I; Math II; Biology I; American History, The Founding Principles, Civics and Economics; and she was relieved to see that she had gotten into her chosen elective course Intermediate Visual Arts. At least she would get some kind of respite in art class. That had always been calming for her. As she made her way to class, she wondered if they had sports here. If this special school had a solution for that whole can't go outside in the daytime thing, then Allison might go out for the football team. Slamming boys in the dirt seemed like a good way to blow off some steam and work through her aggression without getting herself in trouble.

Application Name: Joel Deperalta Race: Barbed Devil Personality: Joel has a tendency to solve problems with ruthless subversiveness -- or, a more blatant tactic if that serves him better or the outcome more amusing. The handful of cold smiles and his calculated demeanor can be tough to read; you could even say his personality is a bit…Prickly at times. Joel has a sinful sense of humor and is down for any party. The wilder the better. Even though he has a callous streak, he is loyal to his word-- unless specified under the agreement, naturally. True friends are few and far between for Joel, however, once gaining a true alliance, he plays for everyone's’ best interest. His cool exterior façade in moments of true anger is broken by the appearance of sickly yellow eyes. Appearance: Joel’s human appearance is a lean, athletic build. His umber colored hair is kept at a longer length, and he does little with it. His blue eyes are probably the most noticeable feature, roiling with hellish intensity and wit. He keeps his clothing casual and simple, but by no means off-brand, with the occasional rock band t-shirt and jacket. Backstory: Once Joel was old enough to understand the concept, his father explained exactly what he was and what he was meant to be. Joel Deperalta is the youngest son of the infamous Deperalta Crime Family. The family is based in Los Angeles, California. Raised in and around organized crime, he is informed on all the facets of the organization from laundering, fraud, extortion, drug and weapons trafficking, murder, extorting prostitutes, contract killing, witness intimidation, car bombings-- name it, the Deperalta’s have done it. Even though Joel knew what he was since a young age, it didn’t make navigating puberty and life any easier. He was sure to have the knowledge was worse, since the expectations that came with knowing were far too...Lofty. As if being born the second son-- and subsequently-- the second choice of his parents wasn’t difficult enough. His father decided it would be best to transfer Joel to a school more ‘suited to his needs.’ In other words, sending him across the country would keep him out of the way. His mother had agreed, though she was motivated more out of the concerned of his recent destructive behavior--as if no Deperalta had set a car on fire before... RP Sample:   Bleakhaven Preparatory School for Gifted Youth. Hm. That was a mouthful. B.P.S.G.Y? Joel’s lips flattened as he read over the brochure for the untheith time. The acronym he had thought of was somehow worse. With a quiet sigh, he leaned his head back to watch view of upstate New York blur past. His journey to this ‘special school’ was a direct path from jet to car to school. He felt like a rush delivery from Amazon. Staring outside he tried, in vain, to ignore the painful reality that no one had seen him off before the trip. He was going across the country for Christ sake and who knew for how long? The only one who had been waiting at the tarmac for the flight was the driver, Travis. The brochure in Joel's hand crumpled at his thoughts. His parents had uprooted his life. All of his friends and contacts were in California and sent him to some backwoods school. In the middle of nowhere, it looked like. A light tap touched Joel’s shoulder. He looked to see a manila envelope held near his face. Travis spoke, keeping his eye on the road as he held the package with a free hand,“This is everything you’ll need. You have a spending limit of $5,000 on the credit card. The phone is for emergency contact only. ” Travis glanced over and added, “Don’t lose these.” He handed the contents over. Joel responded, off-handed as he glanced inside the package to see the handful of document inside, “Since when have I ever lost anything?” “...Other than your temper?” Joel froze then glared up at his driver but Travis only wore a cocky smile. Joel relaxed, deciding it wasn’t worth the argument and equally unwilling to refuse the truth.“...Fair enough,” He said.   So, this was it? Joel lifted his ray-ban sunglasses for a cursory glance through the open wrought iron gates. Trees sprawled across the campus in no obvious order. The pathway he stood on led straight toward an expansive, white building a good two-hundred yards away. Each pathway cut through the perfect, green grass as they lead to various other buildings across the school grounds. For a split second, Joel frowned and quickly recovered. Any sign of weakness was not to be tolerated- as his parents had firmly told him. "Joel," He looked over at Travis who was leaning over in his drivers seat. "Try to at least have fun. If it isn't too much to ask, make some friends." Travis's smile turned crooked, "Get laid." Joel snapped his sunglasses over his eyes, "I know better than take dating advice from you." Travis only shrugged, "I never said anything about dating." His driver's expression turned to a serious note. "Hey, I know you don't want to hear this...But you have a chance here to do your own thing. Be your own person. Joel wore his practiced, detached expression, but inside his gut churned. He felt conflicted and irritated that Travis, his driver was giving him a life lecture. It angered him to no end that an employee of his father cared more about his future then anyone related to him had. He wanted to admonish the idiot but in the end he couldn't spurn Travis's advice. "Noted." He ended up saying. Travis nodded once and rolled the window up. The car slowly rolled away leaving Joel completely alone. He looked around and figured now was a good as time as any to find his way around. Sign-ins was somewhere around here, and so were the dorms. He hoped to hell he wouldn't have an annoying roommate...

I finished the Jia RP sample. Also, are we going to be monsters by Race (ala Volvo) and still have classes (e.g., Sorcerer) or are we going to simply have our monster stats? If Monster stats are the PCs going to grow in abilities?

I finished the Jia RP sample. Also, are we going to be monsters by Race (ala Volvo) and still have classes (e.g., Sorcerer) or are we going to simply have our monster stats? If Monster stats are the PCs going to grow in abilities?

We will be using the stats per the monster manual for ease of play, I will be providing stat blocks all complete once we start and I haven't decided how your characters will grow but I'm sure between my Co-GM and I, we will figure something out.

Volvo has rules for some playable Monster races. As well, there are homebrew races for a number of the monstrous races (e.g., a quick Google search found a couple of Homebrew Succubi races). I do not mean to derail anything you have planned, but I figured it would be really cool to have a Succubi Warlock.

You'll be starting out as a monster that can single-handedly kill a party of lvl 4-5 adventurers, You are going to be pretty powerful but that being said, It's going to be encouraged to not resort to your supernatural powers to solve all your problems, You're trying to hide in plain sight and whipping out your natural form all willy nilly might bring a little attention to you.

Application - Jessica Name: born Jezebel Richman, goes by Jessica now Race: Night Hag Personality: A social butterfly, Jessica has the innate ability to fit into any group activity and shows great school spirit. Her natural charisma, combined with her ability to shape-change any part of her body, makes her widely considered one of the most beautiful girls in school. She welcomes the attention, but is utterly terrified of the other students finding out her true form. The faculty have encouraged her to reveal herself since she first stepped foot on campus, but Jessica is disgusted with her true self and sees her night hag body as repulsive. To the rest of the students, Jessica simply seems to be a shape-changer with unusual strength who doesn't like to discuss her background much. Other than that, she is personable and friendly. Jessica is a cheerleader as well as a member of the chess team, so she has an eclectic group of friends. Appearance: Jessica's true form is nearly seven feet tall, with the long limbs and sharp claws of her kin. She has waist-length jet black hair, deep indigo skin, yellow eyes with slit pupils, curved horns on her forehead, and long serrated fangs. Although Jessica sees her true form as hideous, by monster standards she's perfectly average. She has no physical abnormalities like a hunched back nor skin conditions like scales or warts. As ironic as it is, Jessica's friends probably wouldn't bat an eyelash if she revealed her true self to them. It just seems like Jessica's own self-image is the only thing holding her back from living freely at Bleakhaven. Jessica always wears her heartstone as a necklace and it is her most prized possession. A beautifully faceted black gem, it has a heartstone's traditional ability to remove diseases, except Jessica only uses it for good instead of exacting terrible prices from the suffering and desperate. Backstory: Jezebel Richman was born the same way all night hags are: her mother devoured a human infant and gave birth to Jezebel a week later. Jezebel looked like a perfectly normal human child and was raised as such until her thirteenth birthday. On that fateful day, the young woman awoke to horrible pains shooting through her body. Jezebel called for her mother to help, but to her shock her mother simply held her down and covered her mouth to keep Jezebel from screaming. The transformation into a night hag only took a few minutes, but the pain of Jezebel's body distorting and elongating left her incapacitated. Her mother loomed over her and during the course of an excruciating hour explained to her daughter her true nature. She then took her own true form, which horrified Jezebel. The idea that she was born of such an evil act made the young girl sick and she threw her mother off of her with newfound strength. Getting to her feet, albeit wobbly, Jezebel stared at herself in her bedroom mirror. A monster stared back; one that looked exactly like her mother. Jezebel cursed her mother and stormed out of her home, but her mother didn't follow. She knew this would happen, for it happened to her on her 13th birthday. She had faith that her daughter would give into her nature and continue the dark cycle of the night hags. However, Jezebel found a different path. She found Bleakhaven. RP Sample: "Thank you for seeing me," the girl stated timidly. She sat down in the chair that Akiko Yuun had offered her. "Of course," Akiko replied, "Jessica, was it?" Jessica rose her head and looked into Akiko's eyes. It still sounded weird to respond to a name she wasn't born with, but she had made the decision months ago to purge everything from her previous life in order to move forward. "I've been told you are gifted, like the rest of the students who attend Bleakhaven." Akiko tilted her head, "May I see what they mean?" Jessica fidgeted in her chair, "Are you sure? I mean, I can change into whatever you want me to." Akiko nodded, "I know this. I am asking that you change into YOU." Jessica looked down and sighed. Without another word, the girl changed into a much larger form. Her skin and hair darkened, her body and limbs lengthened, and horns protruded from her head. Jessica slowly looked back up, hoping desperately not to scare the woman who had been so kind to meet with her. Much to her surprise, Akiko didn't so much as bat an eyelash at Jessica's form. "Oh, a night hag," she said matter-of-factly, "We don't currently have one of your kind in the school, but several alumni have gone on to lead very accomplished lives." Jessica was dumbfounded at Akiko's nonchalant demeanor. "You're not afraid of me?" she asked the woman, "I mean, you do know how night hags procreate, right?" Akiko laughed at Jessica's question, "Are you planning on eating a baby tonight? I mean, I actively try to prevent our students from becoming teenage mothers." Jessica was appalled at Akiko's reaction and quickly rose to her feet, "No! Of course not! I mean, I would never!" "Stop!" Akiko suddenly interrupted. Jessica immediately sat down again and stared sheepishly at the much smaller woman. "Right there," Akiko continued, "That's what's important." Jessica listened intently, consuming Akiko's words and ruminating on them. "Jessica, we all have innate natural tendencies. Humans, for example, can be selfish, greedy, and far too focused on immediate rewards. What makes you and I sentient beings, as opposed to animals, is our ability to consciously resist our natural tendencies and strive to be something better than what we naturally are. We have the resources here for you to learn how to do that. I don't care about your past, but I do care about your future. If you are willing, which you appear to be, I would like you to attend Bleakhaven Prep." Jessica's bright yellow eyes began to water. She had never experienced such empathy from another being before and it stirred a warmth in her heart that she knew her mother would have wished extinguished forever. "I would very much like that," Jessica said between sniffles.

Cool. I have seen the havoc a single well run monster can run. It will be interesting to see the mayhem a group of well run monsters can create.
