Throd Bluntbuckle
right-aligned image
Name: Throd Bluntbuckle
Class: Brawler
Race: Dwarf
Background:
Born to a family of dwarf carvers of no particular note, Throd quickly outgrew the relatively peaceful life in the minor dwarf hold of his family. It wasn’t long before the young dwarf was causing no shortage of trouble, drinking too much, not finishing his carvings, brawling with other dwarfs almost constantly, and so on. Of course Throd didn’t mean to cause trouble, mostly, but roughhousing just came too easily to him. Eventually the dwarf lord tried to induct the young delinquent into the Hold Guard, thinking that perhaps he needed a more martial lifestyle. This worked for a time, but inevitably Throd found himself unable to fit into the regimented life of a guard and the slow uneventful patrols.

With the exception of fighting beasts that occasionally prowled too close, Throd again found himself too bored for his own good, and was soon back to over drinking and brawling with anyone who would give him the time of day. This time, the priests got involved as the dwarf lord looked for a way to deal with this rambunctious dwarf. To this they agreed the best way to honorably discharge the brawler was to give him a quest. The quest they eventually gave him was to find the Heart of the World. Of course everyone involved, including Throd, knew this was mostly a joke. The “Heart of the World” was an old myth passed around the hold and nobody but the youngest of beardlings truly believed such a thing existed. Not that it bothered Throd much, so with a farewell to his friends, his family, and the hold he had grown up in. Of course this was not goodbye forever as Throd was permitted to return for aid on his quest (see, a bowl of his mother’s soup and a mug of good ale) whenever he needed it. But for Throd, now a fully bearded dwarf, the world was his oyster... and potentially his punching bag.

Personality:Throd is a lover, a brawler, and a dwarf who lives by his own rules. Life in the dwarf hold was always too small for him, Throd is a dwarf with an eye to see the whole world with. Throd believes that a life without the good things is a life without much point. Whether it’s good food, good drink, a good smoke, or a good fight, or something else, Throd insists on having one of these a day. He doesn’t do well when life gets too strictly regimented either, as such a thing always chafes at his sense of self determination. Instead, he likes to laugh, sing, brawl and drink to the beat of his own drum.
As well, Throd has his own strong sense of right and wrong, and won’t stand for some things. His lack of regard for traditional legal proceedings and proper steps has gotten him into trouble before, but the dwarf refuses to let an injustice to go unresolved because some stiff-lipped iron-shinned, water-sipping, dewy-eyed, block-brained, smooth-chinned skruff-umgi-wazzok refuses to get things done.

Like how I put in with the games ad and the backgrounds character generation section of it. So will not be using FR one so please build accordingly, like you would for the core games setting though with a flavor of FR.

Alright Vesper and DebuRedHair look forward to seeing them.
Apologies. I wasn't trying to over write the GM, just give some help where I could. I was thinking that you wanted us to use the Pathfinder gods mechanically but also wished us to find their FR equivalents; ergo the link. Sorry again if I cause confusion.

@taleteller50: Ah, an nope. Like I stated just using the main core deities out of the core rulebook, like one would for any game set within Golarion PF main setting. Even though this setting of mine having the feel and look of Forgotten Realms. Though thanks for the enthusiasm and finding a conversion of those gods on the net. If I was going to do a PF Forgotten Realms game I would probably have done the conversions my self lol. Which I'm not doing and will be doing prob anytime soon. Like I've said I just love the world and its many races and how it is, so I was inspired and come up with this when I was doing some quests in the Neverwinter MMORPG. Since within the game and during those quests I really felt immersed and like I was really there to an extent, and would've love to actually see it an visit as myself if the world was real that is lol. Now you know the reason why I came up with this, that and how I wanted a slightly different world setting of mine for players to explore around in with other odd races not found in FR . Although I lifted the elven subraces from FR exactly, they're more like those portrayed with in DnD 4e to an extent. Basically more cosmetic as opposed to the mechanics as with 3e/3.5, less like those elves. Plus I just love how those elven subraces are described and look, since they're interesting to me. I know I didn't do that with the others core rulebook races lol. Call me an Elf elitist lol .

Finally got over my writer's block. App complete - I used Golarion towns just for his background so if there's an equivalent or if it's more open-world, "name 'em what you want" deal, I'll change that.

Character Concept
right-aligned image

Name: Drok Sendradek
Race: Half Orc
Class: Fighter (vanilla)

Background:
Born to a Varisian mother and a half-orc father, Drok's family were serfs working the land for the minor noble Casamir Mirceanu and his farms outside of Korvosa. From picking the fields to tilling and seeding, there was always lots of work to do. In return they were allowed to live in a small dingy hut and given a stipend to survive off of. It was hard but honest work, and although very self-important Master Mirceanu was not an unreasonable man. When Drok was just a young boy, his father was killed in a plowing accident and being his only son Drok took it very hard. Fortunately his mother and two sisters were sturdy and hard working folks, and Drok continued to do the best he could while he grew into a man.

It was his thirteenth summer when his life was turned upside down. One of the goats got out of the pen right before the family retired for the night, so Drok took the lantern to go search the fields for it. He was following its tracks when he saw a peculiar light in the middle of the field. Unsure as to what it was, Drok went to investigate and that is when he saw the cause of the light. It was his father! Or rather, the ghost of his father! Drok was so horrified he dropped the lantern and ran like the Devil himself was at his heels. Unfortunately the lantern caused a large fire among the fields, destroying many of Mirceanu's crops and causing him to lose a lot of coin. To make up for his financial losses and to appease the local authorities for the catastrophe he caused, Drok was sold to an "entertainment group" in Kaer Maga.

Drok was now part of the weekly gladiator show in Kaer Maga, and the youth was terrified for his life. He fought only to survive at first, desperate and hungry, but soon he began to receive some respect for his efforts and good food in his belly. Although still not fully comfortable with being a gladiator, Drok fought well and accepted his lot in life. Eventually he fought his way to his freedom, and was able to buy out his contract and become a free man. On his final night in his barracks room, Drok woke up from a dead sleep to feel a strange presence nearby. Opening his eyes, he saw the ghost of his father once again, this time standing over him and smiling. Drok was frozen stiff and unable to move, until the specter disappeared into nothing. Once the ghost of his father disappeared, Drok did not sleep again that night but he realized in some ways his father is still looking out for him even in death.

It has only been a few months since Drok has earned his freedom. Ill fitted for any other expertise, Drok has decided to become a sellsword. He has only had one contract so far, a boring and rather unlucrative position, so he is on the hunt for the next best thing.

Personality:
Drok is a highly capable and ferocious warrior, willing to jump into the fray and pick up any fight he deems worthy. He likes to party just as hard as he fights, and loves to blow off steam trading punches at a tavern with the locals. He is a dichotomy in many respects - highly disciplined with his gear and training, yet his fighting style resembles more of a barroom brawl than what you would see from a trained soldier. He has never forgotten his roots and still considers himself a man of the people, and does not immediately give others respect just because they were born to a certain position in life. Drok values loyalty among all things, and because his friends and associates are few and far between he is overly protective of what he has. If someone close to him betrays or breaks his trust, he becomes distraught and may react poorly - this could be why he has never had a long-term relationship. He misses his mother and sisters, but knows it is for the best for all of them that he has moved on. He can be surprisingly cunning at times, but in a more primal way than one of formal education. He loves seeing the world and the life of a sellsword - to wake up, fight, earn coin, drink, and cheat death every day is a feeling that never gets old for him.

Character Concept
right-aligned image

Name: Majet Songwarbler
Race: Gnome
Class: Bard (Archivist or Vanilla)

Background: Majet was raised deep in the Elven forests by her mother, who had settled to live and work with an Elven Wizard. Her father is an itinerant tinker and she has found that she bumps into him more outside of the Forest than she saw of him at home. She spent her childhood in the Wizards Tower and the surrounding woods learning a wide range of things about nature, magic and stories of people and places. News of her passion for knowledge and love of performing spread and one day a representative of the College of Bards arrived to speak to her mother. When she left the tower with her, Majet had found her future.

After 2 years of study at the College in the Elven capitalise, Majet was apprenticed to an Elven bard, Rhys ap Diarmuid. She has spent the last 7 years travelling with him and learning her trade. They have travelled through many lands and she has learned new languages, songs and experienced new cultures. She stayed behind when Rhys returned home as she is keen to learn some of the local songs. She is waiting for inspiration to strike and entertaining the locals while she does.

She is guided by an old adage that Rhys taught her. There is no such thing as a piece of useless information.
Just information whose time has not yet arrived.

Personality: To a gnome, Majet is rather 'Elvish'. She has spent so long around Elves that she is less spontaneous than many Gnomes, and more likely to sit and think before she acts. To others, she is quite 'Gnomish'. She has an insatiable curiosity which leads her to ask questions and stick her nose into things that are not necessarily her business. She loves to entertain, and will take any opportunity to do so. She is a talented linguist and performer and uses magic to enhance her performance whenever she can.

She loves knowledge of all types but particularly music. She has a fascination with the cultures that produce the songs she performs. She has a passion for follow ideas and lines of enquiry through and likes to investigate issues until she finds a solution, and to know the underlying cause. Her mind flits from one idea to the next and this can seem chaotic to those around her but it is her ability to draw conclusions from widely different facts that is her greatest strength.

She is also capable of being very quiet and absorbed when she is focusing on a subject, either written or in person. She enjoys reading, or listening to others, and will sit quietly and ask incisive questions to get to the nub of an issue. Some of these questions might make her subject uncomfortable, and she tends to use humor to encourage them to tell her more.

Like most Gnomes, she has few friends. Rhys knows her better than most and, apart her parents, is the only individual she has perosnal ties to. Most observers see her as a chatterbox entertainer rather than the committed Scholar that she is in reality. Maybe the Red hair and green eyes set in a sweet face help them to thos conclusion; or maybe it is the fact that she never takes herself too seriously.

Yes vary nice apps @everyone . You have till the deadline to come up with something by the 15th. Looks fine and that is alright @Grouchy I really haven't really fleshed out the details of the majority of my worlds setting much, will be doing so along the way a little bit though as the players go along in game. Since I want my world to organically evolve as it goes along. Peppering things in here and there an maybe even naming a few places. even though I have at least two to three named settlements that I've come up with in the course of have written in the game, thus far that it is. Since more trying to focus on story and adventure then get bogged down with the crunch of the game not as much as possible if I can that is, lol. So all in all thus far looks good Grouchy. So will tell you once it comes to it if chosen. You could say for now it's more of an open-world at this moment to an extent, since players will be going from one hired quest to the next over the course of the games campaign.

Application'
Name: Travloc Belnim
right-aligned image

Class: Druid
Race: Half-elf

Background: Travloc had grown up within a druidic circle deep within the woods of the West. His parents - an elven father and human mother - were also druids who specialized in herbalism. Their part of the camp was always filled with different scents - both good and not so good - from their experimental medicines, and Travloc would get a few whispers from the other children also in the circle about the smells that clung to his clothes. Still, Travloc was fascinated with his parents trade and he would spend moments not playing watching them work. Questions of how that mixed and why this was made always were eagerly answered by his parents who had finally allowed Travloc to join them when he reached his teenage years.

Mornings afterwards, Travloc would wake up early with his parents to travel into the nearby woods where they would forage for new herbs and his afternoons brewing and writing in their journals. Of course, his training also meant he spent a few days in bed sick when he tried a new brew that wasn't up to par.

By the time Travloc had reached adulthood, it was only natural he would follow his parents into learning the druidic arts and applying the herbalism teachings with magic. Of course with Travloc's new training came new risks. His father had taken him further into the woods to find not only rarer plants, but sentient ones as well. Travloc knew they were surrounded by living plants and wild beasts - the circle did have druids who had animals of the exotic kind after all - but they had been taught where not to go to minimize the risk and what to do when they trekked somewhere they shouldn't have. Travloc had never been expected to purposely track danger.

That first fight resulted in Travloc getting a nasty scar on his arm from the plant's thorns and his father teaching him about the true dangers of those who wanted to pursue the profession seriously. His father had taught him that night while his mother bandaged his arm that what they did could cure something as simple as a cold to as serious as the plague but it would not always be something carefree like what they had shown him all those years. Some type of brew that could cure an unknown illness would require risks and could even be deadly.

"So how seriously do you want to learn, son?" he asked.

Travloc nodded albeit slowly. Forage trips now took longer and were dangerous, but Travloc could not deny the different types of flora and their properties that he had learned. He had learned how to harvest from sentient plants and what type he could even digest to help offset poisons. Journals had been filled with new recipes and their part of the camp continued to be filled new scents. Eventually, Travloc had finished his training as a druid, and many had expected to once more follow his parents in becoming healers within the circle.

Except, that was not what Travloc wanted now. What his parents had shown him all of his life had then made him realize that if so many possibilities existed in just their part of the world then what could exist further out? How many people could be saved if he continued to dig and experiment. Travloc expressed his thoughts to his parents who only smiled in pride before helping him pack and pointing him to the closest town.

"Just make sure you bring back what you learned." his father told him before he left.

Personality: Curious, observant, and a bit naive is what can best describe Travloc. His time learning underneath his father had taught him about the dangers of the wild world, but he does not know much about downsides of social interactions as his time in the circle had also taught him a strong sense of community and trust. Once he sees you as a friend, he values that friendship and it breaks him if betrayed. But if you value that friendship, he will not hesitate to help you in a fight with his magic or just a quick whack with his quarterstaff. Travloc is also a bit of a motherhen due to his training and will not hesitate to make you lie down and rest while he prepares some medicine when someone's hit with a cold.

Okay, yeah, haven't made a character in a while and man does it show.

TegridName: Tegrid Kannavar

Class: Spiritualist

Race: Human

Background: A witchdoctor and medicine man of local renown, Tegrid has one persistent problem: Bura. Once a great warlord who showered the land in blood and built towers to the heavens a hundred-hundred years ago, Bura's wandering spirit became obsessed with Tegrid as a potential conduit to reclaim her lost glory that has dissolved into the sands of time. Tegrid has no such desire to dominate others, but to assert some kind of control over the situation, he entered into a pact with her. She may walk the land once more as a shadow of her former self - and he receives her aid as a bodyguard against mortal foes.

Personality: Tegrid's first instincts are always to himself - his services are almost always provided at a (fair) price. He does not dabble in the occult for secrets, power, or enlightenment, but as a means to make his living. Wandering from town to town, curing minor ailments, chasing away critters that go bump in the night, and settling spiritual disturbances keep his belly full and a roof over his head. He has a weakness for beautiful faces and firm muscles of all types and has received plenty of heartache and times of light coin purses as a result. Despite his deep desire for personal safety, he can easily be talked into dangerous schemes of all kinds due to his persistent money problems or need to impress a new would-be paramour.

Tegrid
