Keeping basic and damage dealing, I will put together a Dwarven fighter: Gimlet

I know this might sound crazy, but what if I play someone who is a diplomat?
I am considering a human bard with social skills. By what date do you need an application? Is it actually 22 points for ability scores? That is really low. Did you mean 32 points? |

DMG Page 169; 22 points is a challenging campaign. My number is correct.

It's tough old school type start with basic classes, races, feats etc. Kinda makes it unusual and more of a challenge

Yep, it also limits casters feats both divine and arcane by quite a bit. Basic feats don't offer too much compared to feats in other books. Especially, divine domains. No special uses other than regular ability and spells.

He will be going for Perform (Oratory)
Motivating speeches, epic poems, that sort of thing. Gimlet? That is so "Bored of the Rings" |

He will do any of those. And Fail horribly.
Best to keep him quiet when it matters. Yes, name is direct theft.

You could have chosen worse from that book.

There is already a nonfictional Friedrich Kluge. You can change the name and I'll let you in.

I was unaware that was a requirement. I was also unaware there was a Fred Kluge (without the von) who was a German academic. If I go with the reserved, methodological German theme any name I come up will have been used in the past.
Regardless, I changed it and there appears to be no one *famous* with this name. |
