Race: Half elf or Shabti If deemed fit for the campaign Class/Archetype: Legalistic volcanic spirit guide (Oracle archetype) Alignment: Neutral (It could depend on his circumstances) Character Specialties: Outside of battle Yaeru acts as a hostile or diplomatic negotiator as well as collector of random information through divinations and espionage tactics of questionable legality if he's not busy working his mortar and alchemical alembics in a peculiar and grisly fashion involving pieces of dissected dragons and other equally pleasant ingredients. Some less so. Within combat Yaeru acts as a medic and incinerator with the energy of the stars he taps from volcanic origins with an occasional major buffing if needed although he prefers to save those for his own alchemical experiments or research done in his personal library he's forming from seedy information sources. One such source, a knave known as Jacoby who is Yaeru's childhood friend and main information dealer, spent a few months professing the art of the blade to him. Lost on him initially being preoccupied with a tome discussing the practical purposes of dragon's blood. Later on turning to martial texts the contents rubbed off on him and turned the oracle into a decent backup bladesman. Description: An empyrean presence raised in the southern swamps of Carrion Hill. Comely to the point of sticking out like a sore thumb in his ignoble environment with radiant white hair and tall lanky adolescence. Like healthy green grass growing in a small patch on a sun razed lawn. Yaeru's typical garb consists of rough robes worn as he attempts to run a library in the Tangle, passing through the Filth daily from the swamp where he lives with his mother. (A front for information brokering despite having genuine passion for reading.) The hood works to conceal his outlandish hair. Personality:He can fail to realize his divine magnetism due to his mother making him aware of how gruesome and misshapen he was as an infant as well as two severe personal defects he hides to any but his closest friends. A bookworm at heart, inhumanly voracious in his reading, all material devoured. His average intellect limits his information absorption but he has a gift. Yaeru may be the cat curiosity will kill. Tormented by questions unanswered by his cold mother involving his father and unsure of the real quality of his friendship with Jacoby after a dispute. He could use some real friends but he's jaded from experience already. Ask me about Yaeru's dreams, passions, father and his lengthy incarceration unrelated to obvious, Jacoby, his mother's description of him as a baby, how he became an information broker, what gives him the power of the stars? etc. For a more complete version let me into Kadath. Stay tuned fellow Lovecraft fans. (I loved the Mountains of Madness!) Last edited by Jacobzilla; Jan 30th, 2023 at 12:17 AM. |

I'm curious to see if any other players would want to have our backstories intertwine in some way. Send me a message if you'd be interested in having a brain storm with me.

Sure, Atwood traveled a lot, so he might met your character.

Artemis has been around quite a bit, so you might have met. Whether or not he can actually remember anyone is a different story.

Character Name: Yentis Dawl
Race: Half Elf Class/Archetype: Sorcerer Alignment: Neutral Good Character Specialties: spell casting, lightning, showmanship From humble beginnings, Yentis was the youngest of four boys. Viewed as little more than a source of cheap labor from his father. Yentis felt he might live his life toiling away at his father's mill. That was until he happened upon a sorcerer's tome that taught him to harness his innate abilities. With newfound magic, Yentis ran away along with his older brother Rion. Together the pair established a traveling puppet show with a familiar Yentis had created acting as the star. The show as discovered by a petty lord, Minz who convinced Yentis that he would fund their act and send them to perform for other lords across the land. Instead his own sorcerer's took Yentis' familiar and destroyed the traveling show. Yentis vowed to start again, conjuring a new familiar and beginning a new path, devoting himself more and more to his magical arts. Years passed and Yentis found success, and made a comfortable living. It was then that he decided it was time to dream a little bigger. No longer content with simply thriving with a traveling act, Yentis now sought to create his own kingdom. But for that he realized he needed far more than just a puppet show and aspirations. He needed coin, a lot of it. So he set out to find treasure and adventure, both of which would help him accomplish his dream. |

I apologize for the confusion, I meant to say core races. I didn't even notice it until it was pointed out to me

Crap. Gonna have to replace my dhampir, and the bio. Still will be a ranger though, but not a beast master.
Well, back to the drawing board
