Couple questions before I finish up my character.

First, can I reflavor the rapier? I just want a decent slashing finesse weapon that isn't a big ol scimitar. I'd make it more like a jian, or Chinese longsword. Despite the name, it would definitely be considered a finesse weapon in DnD. (Like the longsword SHOULD be!!!)

Second, can we take some creative liberties with the our relationships with our enemies and allies? I have some ideas for both that might be a little too far out there.

You are welcome to return and finish what you started when you are ready. Master Savan. Race Human Family: Family size:2 parents and 4 siblings. 2 brothers, 2 sisters.   Powerful Family Relationships 1. Family member owes you a debt. They don't like it. They will help you when you need it, but only to clear the slate. Brother is now a cultist in Nicodranas. Cult have a creature they worship hidden, it was responsible for my parents and youngest sibling's death. 2. Family member caused you to have a horrible accident when they were a child. Incredible guilt, will do anything to assuage this. Sister. now an Assassin. 3. This family member has always loved you and would do anything for you Druid, sister, remains in training with Tribal warrior, from Marquet, currently living in Nicodranas, in a small hut on the coast. Fateful Event: As a child, My eldest brother and I snuck aboard a ship and was caught in a terrible storm but miraculously survived. Now my dreams contain visions sent by a mysterious god or demi-god . You have proficiency in arcana. Fateful Event: You met a dark elf dying in the forest, around their neck was a silver amulet containing a cameo of their child and the name 'il'viranya'. It is an amulet of protection against detection and location. This was whilst studying under Master Savan Favourite food: Honeyflame bread, a fried dessert soaked in honey and coated in Marquesian spices Mysterious secret: While trying to access nature magic under the tutelage of Master Savan, Calen conjured a pillar of fire around himself casting him into darkness where he received a message telling him to seek out an item of great power. Prophecy: Short term goal: I fear that if I hesitate at an important moment, someone else will suffer for it. Medium term goal: I will speak to a dragon, live to tell the tale, and may provoke the dragon's everlasting wrath. Long term goal: I will defeat the creature that killed my parents and end the masked ember cult. Its defeat might make me question my purpose in life for my older brother will likely die to achieve this. Backstory: Calen was raised in a family of little means in Nicodranas. His mother and father were hardworking, a cleaner at the lavish chateau and a cobbler respectively. Calen's eldest brother Dester was a bookish sort and often bullied at school, his elder sister Ranis was the opposite and regularly in fights, often defending her brother which he was resentful for. Calen's younger sister Eshra and he were taken on as apprentices by Savan Dalista, a half-orc tribal warrior from Marquet and his sister showed great promise in study of nature and its mystic forms. Calen's youngest sibling Tor was only a toddler when his parents tried to get Dester freed from the Cult (Masked Ember) he had become tangled with. They were killed when the family home caught fire. Dester has not been seen since. Ranis had moved to Rexxentrom prior to this after joining the myriad and while Calen and Eshra have had messages from her, they do not know where she is or how to contact her. Calen struggled under his teacher and was unable to match either the martial prowess of his teacher or show the nature-based talents of his sister. He has, however, demonstrated a gift for magic with forces he does not understand manifesting in his sorcerous powers. Following the death of his parents, Calen has been sought by the Masked Ember as they feel he is the son they should have taken rather than his brother. Forewarned by Master Savan, Calen has taken a job as a deckhand on The Voyage under the watch of Captain Greysail, she does not know who/what he is but has been asked to keep an eye on him and take him far from Nicodranas for his own safety.

If we have more powerful family relationships than family members can we throw in some extra relatives or do we drop a relationship?

Your number of powerful family relationships cannot exceed your number of parents + siblings. I have also updated the guide indicating as much.

Yes, this is fine, so long as it does not overlap on to another existing weapon. The straight double-edged sword you are describing sounds like a shortsword or longsword. You could easily reflavour it as saber.

Without specific examples, it's hard to make a call, but generally speaking, I would say that you can handle your enemies and allies as you like.

Gotcha, that was just the first example I thought it. Saber would work too. I'll do some research.

Oh yes I should have been more specific about the relationship. I wanted to make my evil werebeast ally my character's boyfriend. Because I like complicated relationships and mental suffering.

In fact, until the accident he often visited Wilhelm and his half-siblings. He had a younger sister with whom he shared a mother, Ada. Klaus believe to have killed him, but in truth Ulric is alive and out for blood. He is the family rival. A thing for which he wishes to make up to his younger brother. He is the second family ally, the one who will do anything to assuage. Anna Katerine Hagen (18, female human, commoner, LN) Anna is the very epitome of the saying that one should never judge a book by its cover. Always well dressed and beautiful, she shares every single interest of her father and show a gift for designing buildings. Eduard Ludwig Hagen (5, male human, commoner, CG) The youngest child of the Hagen family. A sweet boy that dreams of becoming a dragon and no one can convince him yet that this is just not possible. A devout follower of Ioun, he was one of Klaus' first patients, surviving the hemorrhage of a deep wound suffered as he was hit by a carriage thanks to his help. Due to this life debt the old man will do anything he can to protect the cleric. Rivals:   Ulric Baltzar Hagen (see entry in the Family section) Georg Stefan Schwarzwald (23, human male, commoner, NE) Georg was a common friend of the Hagen kids, until the opening of the puzzle box. The onslaught of energy released by it disfigured Georg and left him in constant pain. He blames Klaus, who called him to see try opening the box. His hatred evolved into a desire to kill the cleric, so strong that he started the god of assassins, Zehir the Cloaked Serpent. Having mastered the power that nearly destroyed him, Georg now seeks to turn it upon the cleric. Prophecies:   - Immediate: Gather information for the Cobalt Soul. - Long Term: Find the responsible for handing the puzzle box to his brother. - Concludes the character Arc: In order to truly grow into maturity, Klaus need to learn to overcome his survivor’s guilt. Backstory:   The morning arrived clear and warm. The grey clouds had disappeared, cold and snow were just memories. More importantly, his parents let him and his siblings leave the house more often. For Klaus that was the true magic of spring. Ulric had just arrived with Ada when the Hagen patriarch got back from the Marketplace built around a loop of road that surrounds the Tower of Writ, the temple to Erathis where the Prime Arbiter delivers his judgment, ass per Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount, p. 107.Vigil's Circle with Erwin. The boy carried a wood hexagon, around eight inches in diameter. A puzzle box a masked clown was solving and giving at the market, their father said. That was enough to get the kids invested. They tried to open the thing until it was time for lunch. During the meal Klaus had the idea of asking Georg for help. It made sense since he was the son of a carpenter. It was two past noon when they arrived on the Schwarzwald home, calling Georg to play. He was eager to come with his friends and before long the four of them were in the street, trying to solve the hexagon. It took the better part of an hour, but they did it. Oh, they did it. The poor souls. At first the box seemed empty, then it started to tremble and finally it exploded into a cloud of black smoke. Klaus and Erwin were thrown like ragdolls. Ada, who was holding the thing, and Georg, the closest to it out of the three boys, were covered in shadows. Klaus got back into his feet only to find his friends passed out and disfigured. Goerg was breathing, but Ada was not. He called Erwin in despair, tears running along his face as he said that was his fault. It was then that Ulric arrived. Seeing the body of his sister and the confession of his younger brother, he lost his mind. He jumped over Klaus, choking him. Pushed into the ground, the younger fell closer to a stone and out of instinct grabbed it and hammered his brother’s head as he lost consciousness. He woke on a bed that was not his. His father sat by one of the sides and a man clad in blue o the other. They explained what happened. The box was some kind of magic or, rather, cursed item. Erwin was safe and sound but Ada and Ulric were dead and Georg seriously injured, disfigured. Both the Cerberus Assembly and the Cobalt Soul were investigating the case, the group of mages intent of having the Hagen boys taken for examination. That, the monk explained, would mean to have them both subjected to experimentation. To avoid this outcome he had offered to take them into his Order. Until they came of age, the boys worked as apprentices in the Archive. Their duties entailed helping organize books and studying. Erwin was the first to become comfortable with the new reality. He became serious, strict and showed at least some potential to learn martial arts. Klaus, haunted by survivor's guilt, became distant and was a complete failure in regards to fighting. His saving grace was quite literally a saving grace – the Knowing Mentor saw fit to make him one of her clerics. By the end of his training the ecclesiastic saw fit to become one of the many informants of the Colbat Soul and left Rexxemtrum. In fact, he left the very Dwedalian Empire and started to live between the cities of the Managerie Coast as a wandering healer. It was during one of his passages by Nicodranas that he saw representatives of Marquis Uludan spreading fliers asking for volunteers to investigate a bizarre crash-landed ship in Brokenbank. Anticipating that the expedition would gather adventurers and by consequence information, Klaus signed up.

I didn't specify as it wasn't in the advert lol. I was originally thinking a Hexblade Warlock, but I saw there were other warlocks applying, and I wanted to be open to playing whatever the party needs... Point buy makes it really easy to be flexible
