Hi, Hal. Yes, I'm definitely interested. Nice to see somebody using the system for something not-obviously-superhero. It seems to me that this could be a thing. But anyway... the concept sounds interesting. I'll have to come up with a character idea. Did you have any ideas around an application deadline? Also, do you want to make sure certain skills or talents are definitely covered?

Your character can certainly be a vigilante in their original lives before this because of their exceptional abilities that make them more capable than most people. I have experimented a little with this PL so far and was able to make a pretty close approximation of Mike Tyson.
I've got vibes similar to the predator 2 movie where the best killers/survivors were stranded on a planet. You were chosen because you're really good at something. I hope this answers your question |

All of those sound like very fun characters to play in this game, I would say, Characters that would definitely find themselves out of their element at times but having to think creatively to make it through.

I plan to do short episodic chapters with a few quick minion fights and one boss fight if it makes sense. The first chapter I only have a boss fight planned with possible rping your way out of it. I like to give players the option to think their way out of any fight. It's as RP oriented as you can make it.

Great question. It's hard to know what kind of character to make without knowing what to expect, at least in terms of general flavor. I am reminded, however, that our characters should probably be willing to be heroes or adventurers. Or is that an incorrect assumption? Is this a survival-focused game? Will social skills be useful?
Sorry! We seem to have cross-posted. But still, what is the tone and themes of the game? Last edited by girlplay; Feb 2nd, 2023 at 11:47 AM. |

I'm thinking of Samurai Jack. I'm going to shoot for a little bit of everything so everyone will get at least one chance to shine no matter what character you want to play. Social skills will certainly save you from combat but if the rolls fail it might be good to have some fighters.
Heroes, for certain. Reluctant as much as those with delusions of grandeur. Last edited by Hal Hammerhand; Feb 2nd, 2023 at 01:37 PM. |

So, I wasn't familiar with the reference, so I went and looked it up. If anybody is curious about the details, here's a good summary.
In short, the anime is classified as an action-adventure, comedy drama, science fantasy with magic, near-future cities complete with flying cars, large area of open wilderness, more primitive settlements, robots, aliens, talking animals, monsters, magical beings, divine beings, oh and a shapeshifting demonic overlord. Or in other words, everything - with the possible exception of horror or romance elements. Honestly, that doesn't help me understand the setting in the slightest. So, I'm guessing that that is the exact point: the characters are people who just kind of stumble into weird stuff without being prepared for it, and then we have to somehow deal with things on the fly. Is that about right? |
