She had to delay for the door to get opened. Readying for when D does the action would work because if he chose a target for an offensive effect the new target wouldn't be there to select when he began the action. Besides, you can only delay your entire turn. She cannot delay, move, delay then standard action. Edit: Actually... Quote:
Mrith's initiative would change to within his turn, before it ends. It would logically be the same initiative and she would either start before him or it is determined by who got the highest Dexterity score. It is whichever way you'd prefer to handle it, still. Sorry for the delay, was waiting on Blue to post for a while before I realised that Nevh Mrith has already acted (yeah, very ditzy considering the debate, but I've not been feeling great of late) and the last few days I've had the mother of all headaches screwing about with me.
Anyway, I was in the middle of updating today when I got confused by Nallaul's actions, Acathala. Where is he moving to? You just say 'north end of the corridor', which I assume is the north-western corner (AB,16), but if that's the case how is he targeting D1 at T,18? Or do you mean he's targetting E1 (in which case Didina will get caught in the area of effect too)? Could be I'm missing something obvious here. As I said, I'm still not feeling well ¬¬. ~MTWC

See? Told you I'm not thinking straight at the moment. It's incredibly frustrating. I don't think I've ever had a bug/headache/whatever the hell this is that has ever lasted so long and been such a damned annoyance before.

Here's hoping you're not starting a cluster headache of some kind. I pray you'll get better soon!

Apologies Mak, when I wrote that post, it was on the the mobile, and had no access to maps. I did my actions purely from memory, but I meant to clean that post up later. Nallaul was indeed targetting E2 and had moved to AA16(He also took a step west. The way I counted it, the effect should be just short of Didina. If that is not the case, would targetting the wall behind E2 instead help avoid Didina?

Ah, yes, targeting the wall gets around the problem. Expect an update tonight then.

Well, this is turning out to be a much tougher fight than I intended. We'd be two down if it wasn't for Mrith's staff, although at least there's only three enemies left now (assuming the Dogai is still around).

Yeah, I don't think I've contributed much to this battle. Nallaul spent half it moving into position. Poor Misa though.

Where did Mrith feel the Dogai last within her 30-ft radius blindsense? Or smelled it if it has a strong fiendish sent.

Quote:
The clerics should have to be at a minimum 13th level (one of whom survived well over 100 damage), and are CoDZilla, the wizard or sorceror or whatever threw out a maximized Fireburst which makes him likely 15th level minimum since that's effectively an 8th level spell. The Dogai is at least CR11, but seems to have higher attack and saves than a normal assassin devil, so is either buffed or has higher level. And the CR-8 Erinyes aren't super significant, but not totally ineffective either. Plus there were traps to contend with, which usually have their own CR. So we're looking at about a CR18 encounter when we've already had one big fight with the dracolich and friends, and spent some spell slots and item uses and so forth. The baddies however seem to have plenty of high level spell slots remaining despite whatever they were doing to heal the dragons above. Note, this isn't a complaint, just explaining why this might seem more skin-of-the-teeth than you might have originally expected. Besides high level fights are often referred to as "rocket tag" since often you're either fine or dead (see destruction spell).

Mmmm, good points. This chapter has dragged on so long that I'd forgotten about the dracolich.
Oh, and talking of forgetting, I realised that Didina is still within range of where the Dogai was, so her Telepathy is still good for pinpointing him, or rather, she would have told them that he simply vanished - presumably having either teleported away or to a better position, although not within Didina's range. ~MTWC

Are the double doors in Nallaul's corridor open?
