Aberian's Folly

Herewith are two maps, showing the ground floor and first floor of the Mayor's mansion respectively. I will edit them to reveal more information as and when you explore.

GeneralP: Privy

G: Guest bedroom

Ground floor
A3: Entrance. A beautifully carpeted and illuminated room, with portraits of past mayors and nobility of Westcrown. It’s easy to see that two-thirds of the spots are empty. The stairs here lead up to area A31.

A19: Garden of Earthly Pleasures. A garden with a cloudless sky, full of stars; the river in the centre flows from a devil’s mouth fountain on the North wall to a pool in the south. The banks are thick with wildflowers; though guests are asked not to walk in the garden itself they are welcome to enjoy it from the bridge or from the balcony above.

Jackson spots a strange, shadowy shape flitting across the illusory night sky. It looks like an insubstantial devil’s face – though when he points it out to Stumpet, the dwarf cannot see it.

A21: The banquet hall. An immense chamber, heated by six huge fireplaces and brightly illuminated by crystal chandeliers. The walls are decorated with disturbing depictions of hellscapes, showing Westcrown among the lower planes. The huge stone door – black, six foot wide and fourteen foot tall – in the eastern wall is the one that Lord Oberigo pointed out as leading to the manor’s dungeons.

A22: the Pool of Honey. The walls of this room are lined with thick, thorny hedges of roses; the long thin pool in the centre is honey.

Stumpet notices, while looking at the roses, that blood is dripping from the thorns and maggots write among the petals.

A23: the Jungle of Nectar. The trees in this room bear multiple, magically created varieties of tropical fruit – all varieties grown from all three trees. The fruit are delicious, at least according to the guests who try them.

First FloorA31: Upper Gallery. A large open space with a polished hardwood floor.

A32: Guest baths.

A33: The Voyeur’s Gallery. Open balconies allowing guests to stroll above the open spaces on the ground floor. Mislabelled A43 on the map.

A34: Picture Gallery. Scenes from two dozen plays, including the Trials of Larazod, are depicted in various paintings. Though colourful, the artwork is nothing special. A velvet rope hangs across the bottom of the stairs, with a sign saying “Do Not Enter”.

A35: Guest lounge. A room with chairs and sofas, available for relaxation; the stairs lead down to the servants’ entrance.

A37: Game room. Furnished with tables and chairs, ready for guests to play card games or – Westcrown’s latest craze – board games.
