OK, I'll assume you'll be proficient with Perform. I'm willing to grant this as an instrument of sorts for use with the Perform skill, but it would be too unwieldy or not useful for real combat. Is this fine?

Hey I'm interested in making an application for this, however I wanted to ask if you have any kind of class composition for the party in mind? I have some ideas in mind about the character I want to make, but I'm also up to making an app for a role that hasn't been taken yet.

No roles have been taken yet. I'm not looking for any kind of specific composition.

Hey Nikolas, we finally cross paths directly again. So, i planned on flavoring this guy as a beguiler, if youve ever played 3.5/Pathfinder. I dont care about the bard instruments, but i wanted the focus for his spells to be a wand. Is that too crazy of a change?

Faolyn Dwynleth Application
The BasicsName: Faolyn Dwynleth
Race: Wood Elf
Class: First class, plan to go with Monster Slayer.Ranger 2 | Second class, potentially going Scout at some point.Rogue 1
Background: Outlander

Appearance
right-aligned image
Art credit to Julie Ozaneaux
Wild and unkempt it is clear to most who even cast a glance in Faolyn's direction that she prefers the wild places of the world to cities. Her olive skin is laced with a collection scars, raging from small punctures, to large slashes. The most notable cutting though her left eye, if nothing else they act as a warning to some and a tip off to others, the woman is a fighter. Her frame while not bulky or corded with muscle is lean and taut, and while smudged with dirt even beneath that one can see muscle definition akin to that of a cross country runner. Set into her angular face are a pair of partly slanted eyes the color of an oak tree's bark with small flecks of golden-brown throughout. Often her gaze is warm, and akin to a hug in and of itself yet anger the wood elf and you get the gaze of a well-trained predator Atop her head and in contrast to her earthy color pallet is a mane of wavy copper hair, often left loose and flowing on the right and corded into tight braids on the left. While not common on occasion one can see several feathers, flowers, or other such items woven into the hair on the right.

To top it all off Faolyn keeps her attire simple and functional, there is no flair and their is no fashion. She keeps her clothes dyed earthy tones, and her armor simple but effective. Often it is crafted of leather and takes the form of a solid chest-piece with accompanying bracers, and leg guards. Her feet are clad in a pair of well-worn boots that have most certainly seen better days. Yet despite having the funds to buy a newer pair she remains adamant about keeping her worn-down shoes, with no explanation as to why. Perhaps the only article of clothing that catches a fair amount of attention is the leather thong dangling from her neck and adorned with small, somewhat clumsy, wooden carvings of various animals, and a handful of painted wooden beads.

PsycheTrait One: I’m driven by a wanderlust that led me away from home.
Trait Two: I’m oblivious to etiquette and social expectations.
Ideal: Nature. The natural world is more important than all the constructs of civilization.
Bond:Someone saved my life on the battlefield. To this day I will never leave a friend behind.
Flaw: My hatred of my enemies is blind and unreasoning.

Personality: Surprisingly cheerful, Faolyn is bright, upbeat, and friendly with a positive outlook on life. She adores meeting new people, learning about other cultures, and simply experiencing life away from the forest. A helpful sort she enjoys solving problems, even other peoples, though sometimes she doesn’t know when to quit. It has also been noted that the elf can be overly friendly, and needs to work on addressing people as something other than a close friend. This bleeds over into Faolyn overstepping bounds, speaking up when she shouldn’t, and on occasion speaking out against something or someone she shouldn’t to stay out of trouble. When not attempting to solve other people’s problems, inserting herself into conversations she shouldn’t be in, or taking in the sights she can often be found curled up with a good book in front of a fireplace, or in the shade of a tree.

Despite her friendly tendencies and general want to protect those she holds dear even Faolyn has her breaking points. The wood elf is fiercely devoted to the preservation of the natural world and will combat any and all who threaten it no matter the cost. It has also been noted that the wood elf has a habit of letting her emotions control her and dictate her actions, often resulting in her combating a foe much stronger than herself despite the risks. Even if those risks involve other's lives. She has an unbridled hatred for unnatural creatures ranging from your standard undead, to creatures twisted by magic such as owlbears, minotaurs, and other such monstrosities. In summary Faolyn will go on the warpath against certain creatures, even certain actions, and once she does it is a difficult task to turn her away from it.

History The youngest of two children born to Olwyn and Aedran Dwynleth, both talented warriors, she was expected to follow in their footsteps since she was a young girl. While she was tossed into various training regimens, and all but forced to learn to fight, Faolyn's older brother Dayereth took the brunt of their parents attention. Though, their father was always more insistent that they follow in his footsteps than their mother. Though that didn't make their childhood any less grueling. If there wasn't a proper teacher available the children's father took up the mantle and he was the one who taught them both to shoot, to use the wood to their advantage, and to get lost in it should a foe prove exceptionally difficult.

The wood elf's life remained much the same until she hit the century mark, for it was at that time she joined the city guard. Not for any real want, but because it had been what she'd trained for all her life. It was during her stint with the VIol guard that she met her would be mentor Vanoran Aradi. He was a talented scout who took the young ranger under his wing and taught her some new tricks. Namely how to hit hard, and pick out an opponents weakness, not to mention how to pick locks when he got exceptionally bored. It was also Vanoran who started Faolyn down the path of questioning what she knew about the world outside the wood and the people who dwell there. In fact, Vanoran was the one who sparked the woman's interest in the world outside of Viol.

Once again Faolyn found herself falling into a rhythm with her life, and spent another fifty years simply working as a guard and working her way up the proverbial career ladder. In that time she fought her fair share of creatures, and was saved more than once by a fellow soldier and even Vanoran himself. Which instilled in her the mentality of protecting her allies and making sure everyone makes it back home. Though through the years the time she spent with her mentor caused her to wonder about the choices the Wood Elves as a whole made, and the values her own parents instilled in Faolyn and her older brother as they grew. Suffice to say the woman found herself with more questions than answers as time continue to soldier on.

When Faolyn was 153 things changed, a surprise to her but not an unwelcome one. Her mentor disappeared without a trace, and not even so much as a goodbye note. In addition the elf found herself growing bored with her day to day life and on a whim decided to do a disappearing act on her own. While not dissatisfied with her life she simply wanted to experience the world, much to her father's dismay. The two did not part on good terms and Faolyn even wonders if she'd be welcome back home because of it. When it comes to her reason for leaving her goals were two-fold, first to do as she said and experience the world, allowing her to form her own opinions on matters she's only had the opinion of other's to work with. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly is searching for Vanoran, who she wants an explanation from.

For the past four years Faolyn's been spending her time traveling throughout Abis, though rarely straying into the larger cities preferring the solitude of the wilds. Though, after meeting a fellow wood elf she learned Vanoran may not be quite so difficult to track. For, according to this admitted stranger, he traveled to Wyndham for the tournament, and thus the ranger found herself booking passage to a smaller port town on the southern coast of Skittervane and then starting to head north. Hoping to meet up with her mentor once she gets to Wyndham, or at the very least finding something to point her in the right direction. All the while enjoying the trip there and seeing what kind of adventures she can get into along the way.

Answer These Please1. Why are you stopping over in Abrecht on the way to the tournament?
To resupply mainly, though experiencing life out of the forest, and the wilds in general holds a form of appeal. Plus it truly was on her path to Wyndham, and as far as she is aware(Faolyn isn't exactly familiar with Skittervane) there aren't any major hubs of civilization for a while past Abrecht, and she'd rather not be stuck somewhere without the necessities.

2. Where are you from?
Faolyn was born and raised in the northern forest city of Viol on Abis. It is only in the past few years that she's strayed farther than the forest that surrounds her home

3. How do you feel about the "underdeveloped" people?
Faolyn has conflicting feelings on those most would consider underdeveloped. She views them with a mixture of apprehension, pity, and uncertainty. For the majority of her life she was surrounded by those who thought poorly of the underdeveloped races and that rubbed off on her. Though, during her recent travels she's had cause to interact with such people and her expectations have been subverted on a handful of occasions causing her to start to question her own beliefs on the matter. In short she's in a bit of a grey area at the moment when it comes to her views on the underdeveloped people.
