Agreed. A monk would have been perfect in this setting.

Anyways, my character is finally up. Connor, I straight up copied how you did several things on your character sheet. I really like how efficiently he's laid out. Since I'm still new to PBP, I'm gonna emulate some of the stuff you do. And thought I should give credit where credit is due.

Also, Hamilton... I don't think your character is public. Tried to view it and got this message:
Quote:
Sorry, the requested character can not be shown. Either you don't have permission to edit it, the sheet isn't publicly viewable, or the character does not exist.
Maybe take a look at it.

I'm anything but new, so if you have any need then by all means just ask.

Coincidentally, IF you are not allowed to have an animal companion (due to the way the game is set up) then I suggest that you take the alternate nature's bond, and choose a domain.

Quote:
At 1st level, a druid forms a bond with nature. This bond can take one of two forms. The first is a close tie to the natural world, granting the druid one of the following cleric domains: Air, Animal, Earth, Fire, Plant, Water, or Weather. When determining the powers and bonus spells granted by this domain, the druid's effective cleric level is equal to her druid level. A druid that selects this option also receives additional domain spell slots, just like a cleric. She must prepare the spell from her domain in this slot and this spell cannot be used to cast a spell spontaneously.
Plant and Weather and good options, but so too are any of the elemental ones. Honestly thought with the Plant domain you get some nice bonuses that are relevant to a game where we have to make our own weapons/armor. Plant Domain

yeah design I would recomend you take the domain option instead of a Animal since you really wouldnt get to use it atleast you wouldnt be loseing a class feature entirely.

Plant domain is awesome if you go natural spell/wild shape. Basically you focus on a melee animal like a black bear (which is medium) and give your unarmed damage an extra boost with the wooden fist power.

Also, it's pretty cool to do an elemental domain and have a black bear throwing around lighting bolts with the air domain.

I took my first in monk, seemed like a good idea. I can probably wrestle any of you to the ground because of it.

I've been pondering that. It doesn't line up perfectly with my character's backstory. But then again, I guess she could still be friends with the animals...

Yeah, I'll go ahead and change it. I haven't looked into the domains at all, but I'm assuming that I'm gonna go plant. I'll give it a brief looking over before making the changes to my sheet.

Thanks for the advice.

After breezing over them I think that I will take the plant domain instead.

A question about domain spells: Do I get additional spell slots? Or are those spells now simply available to prepare?

A cleric gets one extra per spell level that has to be a domain spell. I don't have the book atm, but if it says 'as a cleric' I would assume you do.

I think I fixed my character sheet, could someone check?

Ya, I just read that bit.
"A druid that selects this option also receives additional domain spell slots, just like a cleric."

And your character sheet looks good. I just checked it out.

I've got my characters sheet up now. Might need a check through to get rid of any mistakes, but it should be done.

Went ahead and posted something in the intro. I'll try and get something else in on lunch.

One final question before I take off for the day, regarding druid's Wild Shape ability.
Looks a bit different than 3.5.

To clarify: Say I decide to wildshape into a wolf. If I understand the rules correctly, the only changes to my character will be Scent, +2 strength and +2 nat armor.

Might I also benefit from:
The 1d6 bite attack with the Trip ability?
HP for CON bonus?
Speed of 50ft?
Skill Bonuses to Perception?

I'm going to rule that you get the movement rate, str bonus, Scent, Trip, bite attack, natural armor, and perception bonus It only makes sense. But the con bonus no cause your ability scores dont change except for the str.
