Quick question about posting guidelines... how do we want to distinguish speaking, actions, rolls, ect?

Great. This looks more like what I expected. 3.5 functions like this.

How often are we thinking of posting?
Personally, this is my first pbp and I'm all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and checked the threads almost hourly since we started. I think Ifdesign is like this too. What is everyone else's schedule like? |

I am check twice a day or so, but weekends are a no go for me. I tend to taper off on the weekends and post often during the weekdays.

Pretty much I can check several times a day but conor if it slows down on weekends thats fine. Just everyone I would like to see atleast once a day except on weekends but if everyones on and posting we can go faster.

That sounds good to me. I'm in the same situation as hamilton. All super excited and eager, but I'm not typically able to post on the weekends.
In fact this Saturday, the 31st I'll be separated from technology completely. |

So how much exposure do you guys have to Roleplaying games? Both inside and outside PBP.
I'm really new to PBP. Obviously, I've only got some 30 posts and have been a member for a couple weeks. But I've been playing D&D for over 10 years. Started with 3.0 and progressed into 3.5. I've played a few Pathfinder games in RL, but not a lot. I'm enjoying the exposure I've already gotten from it in this campaign. It's a lot of fun. Then the only other RP game I've played is World of Darkness... and even that was only a few sessions. I started as a player, but pretty soon I realized that if we didn't have a GM then our group couldn't play at all. So I started running games relatively soon after I started playing. I'm enjoying participating in games again here on PBP, but will probably start running some campaigns as soon as I feel comfortable with the site. How about you all? I'm eager to get to know some people. |

This is actually only my second game.
I'm currently playing the rogue in a low-roleplay 3.5e game with two other new players and an experienced DM. It's been fun, I've managed to destroy his world's economy via killing a ancient red dragon. Next year we're moving to a high-roleplay d20 modern space adventure. I did try to start up a game a long time ago, in middle school I think, but we were unable to find anyone willing to try it. |

Quote:
Before that I would have to suggest that I have about 20+ years playing table top games like D&D and oWoD (World of Darkness). Before that though my introduction into table gaming was Hero Quest and Dungeon Strike. We were encouraged to come up with character histories and connections, though not on the level that there is today. My first true 'gaming' group was when I was 15, so about 15 years ago. We decided to play a 2e (Advanced) Dark Sun campaign where we were all Gladiators in the Sand Arena under the assumption that it would become very much like Spartacus when we freed ourselves. We actually just played a handful of games and really just loved the politics within the Ludis itself so we never actually broke free. When 3e first come out, I was a little reluctant to dive right in, but my girlfriends brother at the time took the bait and bought almost all the available books. (This was my first DM who had their own collection) and that game became a mainstay. We were pirates on the dark seas of Avandalucia's Oceans. It was a mix of Pirates of Dark Waters (Cartoon) and Errol Flynn. I've been playing pretty consistently ever sense and am in the middle of creating my own system/gaming world. I've played everything you could imagine when it comes to RPG's from video to live-action. It's just so ingrained into my blood now at my age that I couldn't imagine being unable to role playing at all, ever. I have a 12 year old daughter who I am slowly drawing into the world of RPG's... just had to find something like Skyrim before she'd give it the time of day.
