Avidor wants to meet them as they enter Govi Tahaan, at the portal. If anything the throne room will not be used for this meeting. Rather meetings will be held in the dining hall or the gardens. Formality will be minimal, especially where Lysander and Lathea are concerned.
An honour gaurd will of course be allowed for Avidor as he goes to meet his guests but he will keep it minimal.

You step out in the city with Hanif, Cala and Tamir, with your entourage of palace guard in tow. Tamir, now cleaned and dressed in a fine caftan and turban, looks a little better. The streets teem with crowds of traders and labourers, this day seem to be particularly active with the repairs and rebuilding taking place about the place. Your guards loudly announce your passage and part a swathe through the mobs of townsfolk, allowing you to cross unimpeded.
The men and women of Govi Tahann continue to regard you with awe and wonder, they drop what they're doing and bow low as you go by. Hanif regards the aura of fear and supplication affecting all around you.
"Remember how in Sigil, we weren't given a second glance?" he says to you wistfully. "We used to have to fight our way through the Market Ward..."

Eventually you reach the old city hall. Captain Rahim offers to check out the building before you go inside, once more he senses a possible trap.
"There's been reports of figures sneaking about here at the dead of night, my Amir." He goes in, a hand rested on his scimitar.
After a few minutes he returns, quite unharmed and assured of no danger to you, but looks somewhat shaken nonetheless.
"Noble one, the...creatures from Se-gill have arrived."

You go in to see Lysander, Lethea, Straight Bahal and two other Mercane waiting in the tiled hallway. The Bariaur pace about, looking about and admiring the Baqiyan architecture. The Mercane, garbed in their thick, opulent robes and bendecked with jewerly and odd trinkets, are conversing quietly amongst themselves in their low, bubbling tongue. Bahal notices you first and smiles happily.
"Salutations, great Amir Avidor Akram Manaan." He bows with a flourish, an impressive gesture from the twelve foot tall, lanky Mercane.
"Avidor!" Lethea cries out joyously and trots over to you, arms extended.
Lysander turns to face you and regards you questioningly, thick arms crossed. He acts like he's trying to recognize you past under your Amir's regalia, with a humoured smile.

Avidor chuckles at the various reactions of his friends from the Free League. He returns Straight Bahal's bow with grave formality and then hugs Lethea warmly. He gives a casual nod to Lysander.
"Welcome to my home my friends. Please forgive the formality of the honour gaurd, it makes Captain Rahim less irritable if I allow him this measure of protection. Shall we walk to the Palace? On the way we shall see the city of Govi Tahaan, which while small compared to Sigil is the Jewel of Baqiya. I have missed you my friends. And I have missed the City of Doors, I'd love to hear what has happened since I have left."
Avidor then turns to Cala and Tamir and says "This is Cala, my sister. She will be representing me when House Manaan reopens its tent in the Market Bazaar." He allows a moment for her to bow and say hello, translating for her as nesecary. Then he indicates Tamir "You may remember my cousin Tamir, he will now be my economic advisor here in Govi Tahaan."
Lastly Avidor gestures to Hanif "And my dear brother Hanif is now my Seneschal. He advises me on all matters, and is invaluable."

Lysander holds his aloof demeanor for a few seconds longer, but cannot contain the wild grin cracking across his face. Chortling, he lops up to you and shakes your arm furiously.
There is a round of introductions. Hanif is happy to see the Bariaur siblings again and greets them warmly. Cala, unable to speak Planar, bows courteously and a little timidly. Lysander and Lethea greet Tamir tepidly and glance at you curiously. Tamir looks away, embarassed.
Bahal steps forward and says smoothly,
"Then please honour us by leading us through your glorious city Amir Avidor Akram Manaan to your palace. We shall share the latest chant with you as we go."
Lethea nods.
"Yes, that would be nice."

You step out with your party and proceed down the Baqiyan streets. Lysander squints under the blazing sun and mutters,
"Not a bad plane you have, Avidor. A bit hot though..."
"I've been to hotter places," Bahal says ambivalently. "Ah, as for Sigil - there have been some disruptions in trade lately. Portals have been cut off in some of the Gate-towns, particularly in Curst. There's some local trouble there I believe. The Doomguard and Harmonium seem to be most stirred up by it. I do hope this does not lead to a most unprofitable altercation in the future."
"Indep merchants are riding well still." Lethea adds. "More than well actually. We've got our hands full with all sorts of hefty Faction contracts. There's more demand for resources in Sigil than ever, and this sort of chaos that Bahal mentions only helps us. More and more high-ups are turning to Indeps to handle large imports."

Avidor laughs at Lysander's display of surliness and his break into cheer. He explains to Cala in Baqiyan what is going on, allowing his humour to lighten her mood if that possible.
"Indeed this could be good for business, as long as alternate trade routes can be established to avoid this trouble in Curst and these trade disruptions. Tell me what are the Doomgaurd and the Harmonium up too? You say stirred up but how so?" Even though he speaks of important matters Avidor cant seem to feel that involved in it, after all it is occuring in another plane of existance and he has no direct interest in it. Indeed he is simply happy to see his old friends and get the ball rolling on trade with Sigil.

The Baqiyan people in the street were awestruck to see you go by before, now they gape in utter atonishment and near terror at the sight of your troupe made up of quadrupedal, hoofed beasts and towering, blue-skinned djinn. Bahal notes the surrounding hubbub but smiles in easy-going fashion.
"They are talking of military involvment. The Doomguard have had their supplies of steel affected, which they need for forging weapons in the Armoury. They have threatened Curst with an attack if their metal shipments are continued to be lost. The Harmonium want to dispatch a force to the Gatetown to keep the peace. In Sigil, the two factions's high-up men argue who has the right to intervene."
"If they both head out," Lysander interjects "there could be a war. Sinkers an' Hardheads have been spoiling for a scrap for years now."
"Faction War?" asks Hanif with raised eyebrows.
"Maybe." Lethea says thoughtfully. "Not in the Cage, but in the Outlands where nothing can stop them. But so far I don't they trying to have an all-out battle yet...This is more political manuevering and one-upmanship. I think the Hardheads and the Sinkers are having a staredown, seeing who'll back down first."
Bahal and Lethea are quiet. They both seem quietly worried, so much of these events that rock the Cage are out of their hands. They can only talk so much.
Lysander speaks up.
"Hey I swapped the chant with Gortham the other day. He sends his regards and tells me everyone at the Independent Investigators is doing well."

Avidor flashes a white toothed grin at Lysander "I am glad to hear my friends are doing so well. It already feels like years since I left. When you return to Sigil will you let them know how I fair and give them my best wishes, Lysander?" The young Fire Genasi meets the Bariaurs eys "And as for the Harmonium and the Doomgaurd, let them fight all they want as long as they dont drag all the Planes down with them. Which if they have thier way they likely will. But then I suspect the other factions would get involved and you really would have a faction war on your hands."

Your party eventually makes it out of the commotion-filled streets and is escorted to your meeting hall in the palace. Everyone is seated comfortably around the long table (Lysander and Lethea make do with footstools to rest their hindquarters upon, despite the lower level of seating they are still at equal eye level with you. The Mercane however loom over the proceedings.) and the books and scrolls are laid out.
"So tell us, young Amir." intones Bahal with an interested gleam in his eye "What business do you have propose to the City of Doors?"

Avidor gives a slow toothy smile "To business then," he says "Well Bahal my proposal is simple enough. House Manaan has placed me in charge of all extra-planar trade concerns. I wish to reestablsh trade with Sigil and I see no reason why I would not offer the first opportunities to my comrades in the Free League. As before the Manaan wish to trade spices, hand made goods and all manner of things from Baqiya. I want you consider an exclusive deal with me, to buy what you wish before I offer it to the rest of Sigil. Soon I will send Cala," Avidor gestures to his sister "To reestablish the trade tents in the Market Bazaar. But I also wish to begin supplying our stock directly to the customers and our partners. Taking orders as it were." Avidor lets that sink in for a moment before he continues "What Im saying here is that I want you to consider your deals with House Manaan to be an investment, just as we would consider you a partner."
Avidor watch Bahal's face carefully, along with Lysander's and Lethea's, trying to gain some sort of insight into their thoughts and reactions.
"Of course in return for this security I would be happy to offer a reasonable discount."
