I'm so sorry guys, I completely screwed myself over time-wise by taking on too much stuff (story of my god damned life! aaarggg!!!) I'm GUTTED, I was really looking forward to playing after a 2 year break, but looks like it just wasn't meant to be this time around either T-T

I took on a HUGE mural in our village, and totally underestimated how time consuming and exhausting that would be, and now I have 5 days to do 2 weeks work before my friend comes to visit from the other side of the world.

I feel extra bitter towards myself to be subtracting on the last day when there's already not enough players to start, but I'm really hoping that there's people in the woodwork last minute working on their apps as usually is the case!

It's so awesome that people put their free time towards running this event for everyone, your so kind, best of luck everyone involved <3

With less than 15 minutes till the deadline, I think it is pretty safe to say we will not hit the 6 needed complete applications to run Outplay this year. I'll say thank you very much Nyx89, Qiksilv, and GleefulNihilism for getting yours in! I'll shoot you all a PM tomorrow when I have a bit more time.

And, I think this also probably signals that it is time to retire Outplay. We will have to re-evaluate what kind of event we should run instead next year.

Hmm. I know this is a busy time of year for a lot of folk. Most places around the U.S., this past week was the last day of public/private schools up through High School. It was also Memorial day weekend when the weather is good for the first time in a while to go out on a lake, beach, etc for the long weekend.
Also, violent storms have been hitting the Texas/Arkansas/Louisiana area for the past week and people have been without power - me included.

This likely didn't help the OutPlay situation.

For me, I played once before with a rogue character who used a whip in each hand - been a few years. I was proud of my creation, but based on the rules that 'go round', she wasn't built well enough to last very long.
Times I've looked since then, the rules seem to always change from one year to the next - which may be the point? If it had poor turnouts last year, maybe a revamp is needed, but if it was just this year, maybe it was timing?

Also, open to anyone who is interested, we are going to have an After Party, and play through some of the encounters that had been prepped for Outplay. This will be non-competitive, and run at a leisurely pace. Our official applicants get first dibs, but any judge, organizer, or observer is welcome to join in!

My 1 experience with out play wasn't a good one. So I've never joined again. Sorry it looks like to many either feel the same. Aren't here anymore. Or didn't like the requirements. Or are to new to want to join.
