Need replacement players/characters. Per the advert above, the group just needs two players.

Hey @DrachenSpirit. Thinking of putting something in but just wanted to check a couple of rule things.

1) Are you using the Origins rules from Tashas (Moving stat bonuses around, skill proficiencies etc)
2) Are the Optional class rules in play (Specifically looking at the Ranger tweaks and the Primal Companion option)
3) Do you want a fully rolled character sheet with the app or just the main stuff (i.e. I'll probably take the plunge and roll for stats)
4) I suspect it's a no, but it is campaign/theme adjacent: would you allow a Drakewarden Ranger even though it's from Fizbans and not the listed sources? Just always wanted to play one.....

I'll work on the character in the meantime!

Thanks!

Tentative interest, I'm considering a rogue.

Can I roll stats (in the appropriate thread) before formally submitting a character application?

@Hillysy7 - if it's from one of the listed sources, yes, if not, no. And yes, go ahead and create a character sheet.

@RossN - yes, go ahead and roll die for stats in the link provided.

Character Name: Kostino Braddachi

Race: Tielfing
Class: Ranger
Description: As far as Tieflings go, Kostino is unusually broad for his height. Standing at only a few fingers over five and a half feet tall, he has the powerful physique of a blacksmith which sets him apart from other tieflings as much as his blue skin and silvery hair. His hands are calloused from labouring, but otherwise he exudes the youthful energy and athleticism of anyone in their early twenties who has spent days out of doors earning an honest day’s pay. He has a broad smile and a friendly warmth to his teal eyes, in fact his demonic blood is buried deep, only surfacing on a few occasions in his entire life.

He also has an annoying habit of whistling merrily out of tune.

Personality: For all that he looks like a stocky horned brute with a huge woodaxe at his hip, Kostino is almost aggressively jovial. To him, life on the road is a blessing, and each few months he spends working in fields or inns until he moves on is an adventure in its own right. Eager to make friends, share coin and stories, or gamble (badly), he soon learns the names of almost everyone he comes into contact with and endeavours to remember as much as he can before moving on to somewhere new. Which would often involve him sitting in taverns at the end of the day regaling tales of his grandfather’s dragon-slaying exploits until the small hours and everyone felt like close friends.

This of course comes from naivety, and a life hitherto devoid of any real responsibility. Once he’d learned that a strong back and a willing attitude was all he needed to keep moving, he practically discarded everything else that might weigh heavily on a person. The only things that were a constant from village to village, town to town, was the puzzling notes his grandfather had left him along with a strange reptilian broach, and the axe at his hip that’d pay his way.

Background: Folk Hero (Survival, Animal Handling)

Trait 1: If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing with a smile on your face. Might as well enjoy it!
Trait 2: I will always try and see the best in people, and get to know them if I get the chance.
Ideal: Adventure. There’s always something new, interesting, and enjoyable just a short journey away
Bond: Being the grandchild of a renowned dragon slayer is usually a good way to get to know people, but just last week a gang of ruffians attacked me. I barely escaped with my life, but as I fled, the ruffians told me that the Cult of the Dragon never forgets and always avenges. I’m hoping to lie low in a sleepy little town called Greenest until this blows over.
Flaw: I’m stunningly oblivious to danger. Everything seems like such an exciting adventure until I realise a little too late it really, really isn’t.

Character History: When your family had a long history of great adventurers whose greatest exploits were a series of slain dragons that featured in a dozen epic ballads, saying you’re leaving home to write your own destiny on the world was an easy sell to your parents.

Even if it was a lie.

See, for Kostino the small town of Triel where the Braddachi’s settled as their base for generations of adventure, exemplified everything he didn’t want in life. Where he enjoyed the company of common folk, the only people his folks seemed to speak to were town’s officials. Where he enjoyed the fields and woodhuts of surrounding land, he seemed to spend an exorbitant amount of time at dinners and festivals with his family as honoured guests. Where he took satisfaction in a pile of finely shopped wood and sore arms, his family spoke of their great deeds where failure meant catastrophe. His parents would speak to anyone of his elder brother’s first forays with mercenary groups who would listen, and what Kostino would achieve in a few years time.

It wasn’t that he wasn’t loved, cared for, nurtured, and respected. It was just that he didn’t care for those things. He had plenty of stories from his family’s history and didn’t need his own. He liked it when people saw him as the person he was, not the man who lived in the bars of a song. So he decided he’d leave and wander. Just be for a year on the back of his own name. And when he returned happy and wiser for it, he knew his parents would understand. It was just better not to part on that particular conversation.

It was a short discussion; they needed little convincing that searching for adventure without taking the gold of others was a strong family tradition. He accepted the gifts his great-great-grandfather had handed down to their family – a metallic broach of some kind of wyrm and a book of lessons and maxims that would supposedly unlock the power within it – and promised to return with great tales.

That was almost a year ago now and not until the last few days had Kostino considered it the best choice he’d ever made. The road suited him. He’d enter a new town, find honest work chopping wood, loading carts, working farms or forges, or mucking stables, and just soak in the common normality of the place. And after a few weeks when he’d had his fill, he’d pack up his things and move on. A pleasant cycle of comfort and new adventures, just with laughter and warmth rather than the dark cramped confines of a goblin infested ruin that might be remembered long after he was dead.

It wasn’t all pleasant. Bandits were real, as were occasional knives in alleys and drunkards in bars – but they were few and far between and added a feeling of mundanity. Plus he was from fine adventuring stock and honed by physical labour, so he rarely suffered more than a cut or a bruise. Even when he was fleeing robbers through town streets after dark, it felt fun and typical, like he was just another townsfolk working through the average threats of life.

But that all changed outside Greenest. The bandits hadn’t come to rob him. Oh no. When he offered them his coin purse they didn’t even glance at it, just raised blades and circled. Kostino had no choice but to heft his axe and, for the first real time in his life, know the real bite of danger. It was six against one and he wasn’t going to win that. After a half dozen deep gashes in his ribs, he finally made a solid parry, sunk his axe into the neck of one man, and broke free of the circle of blades that come to claim him.

He fled into the night, chased at first by assailants, and then finally by their promises that the Cult of the Dragon would have its revenge before long. As he sat in an inn, looking at his meagre few remaining coins after he’d paid to get stitched up and fed a warm meal, and didn’t talk to anyone. Just let those words roll around and around and around in his mind.

ApplicationName: Roland Maisbauern
right-aligned image

Age: 26

Race: Lightfoot Halfling

Class: Warlock (Fiend)

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Description:
Roland stands at 3 feet and 1 inch tall. He is not very heavy for a Halfling, at only 30 pounds. Typically, he is adorned in well-made clothes and armor. However, the halfling generally has an unkempt look as his thoughts are too scattered to concern himself with basic upkeep. When he taps into his power, Roland's eyes will sometimes glow blue as if a flame is burning from within.

Personality:
Generally speaking, Roland is kind-hearted, open-minded, and a student of life. Although he is prone to long periods of silence (seemingly lost in his own thoughts), he is not solemn, just... distracted. Whenever a friend is in need, he is more than happy to offer a hand (or a shoulder). It's clear to those that spend enough time with him that the halfling carries a heavy burden but it's not anything that he is likely to share. In fact, when anyone asks him what's wrong, he generally responds with a dismissive comment or simply points to whatever recent trouble the world around him is currently dealing with. That hasn't been difficult since the dragon cult has become so active... When Roland is pushed into combat, he becomes someone or something else altogether (almost as if he were possessed).

Background: Haunted One

Trait: I don’t talk about the thing that torments me. I’d rather not burden others with my curse.

Trait: I refuse to become a victim, and I will not allow others to be victimized.

Ideal: I try to help those in need, no matter what the personal cost. (Good)

Bond: I would sacrifice my life and my soul to protect the innocent.

Flaw: I feel no compassion for the dead. They’re the lucky ones.

Chracter History:
Roland wasn't raised to be an adventurer. In fact, he was raised to be a farmer like his father before him. He was more than happy to live a quiet life in his quaint little village. At the age of 24, he married the girl of his dreams. Roland had courted Bree for two years before popping the question and felt like the luckiest guy alive when she said yes. Together, they started up their own little farm, on which they primarily grew corn. The couple was right on track to becoming an integral part of their community, which is all either one of them had ever wanted.
Rumors of dragons, dragon cults, and general mayhem had started to make their way to Shining Hills but the majority of the residents paid them little regard. The real threats to their village were wild animals, goblins, and bandits (or so they thought). Ignoring the threats of danger, the young couple decided to go for an afternoon hike through the nearby woods. While out exploring, the two accidentally stumbled upon a dragon cult encampment. Although they tried to slip away without being noticed, they were unsuccessful. The cultist caught up with the halfling couple with little effort. No demands were made and no questions asked, they simply came down on the unsuspecting halflings with sharp unrelenting daggers and swords. Roland watched helplessly as the life slipped from Bree's eyes. As he himself began to slip, his mind entered into a vivid dream state. Suddenly, in his dream, he was surrounded by flames. From somewhere just beyond the edges of the flames, a hulking humanoid figure spoke to him. "I can give you the power to fight back... You don't have to be helpless anymore! Just say yes..." Something about the figure felt wrong. Its voice was smooth yet somehow filled him with a sense of dread. He wanted to deny the being. Tell it to leave him alone. That's when he saw flashes of the attack that had taken his beloved (and himself). Overwhelmed with grief, he whispered "Yes..."
What must have been only minutes later, Roland's eyes slowly opened. As they did, he saw Bree once again. To his horror, her eyes were still open but drained of life. Looking beyond her, he saw the backs of the cultist. They were bickering in a language that he did not understand while they seemingly packed their belongings. Carefully and quietly, he rose to his feet. A feeling of hatred, as he had never known, consumed him. Instinctively, he stretched his arms out and opened his palms. Suddenly, flames burst forth and consumed the cultists. The moment the last cultist fell dead, Roland was overwhelmed with grief and confusion. It was only a dream... What have I done!?
Making his way back to Shining Hills, he warned of the dragon cult and informed them of Bree's murder. Choosing to leave out the parts about his dreams and the powers that they had seemingly given him, he instead fabricated a tale of surprising the cultists with a vial of alchemist's fire. He barely understood what had really happened and didn't want to burden anyone else with it. Still trying to decide where his life would go from there, he began having awful, apocalyptic, nightmares. Every time that he woke from the nightmares, he felt compelled to seek answers in Greenest. Finally, for the sake of his sanity, he borrowed enough funds to equip himself with some basic adventuring gear and plotted a course for the town of Greenest.

Character Name: Mira

Age: 28
Race: Half-Elf
Class: Fighter
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Description: An attractive young half-elven woman with brown hair and large pale green eyes. She stands about 5'4" and is slender in build, favouring leather armour, dark clothing in a flattering cut and a blue cloak. Across her back is her weapon of choice, a fine yew long bow and her hip is a rapier and dagger. If forced to fight in close quarters she also brings about a small round shield.

Background: Charlatan

Trait 1: "I have a joke for every occasion, especially occasions where humor is inappropriate."
Trait 2: "I fall in and out of love easily, and am always pursuing someone."
Ideal: "Creativity. I never run the same con twice. (Chaotic)"
Bond: "Me and my family were members of the Cult of the Dragon, until our rivals in the cult arranged to wipe us out. Though they slaughtered my kin, I survived, but they think I'm dead. Now is my chance for vengeance! My hit list consists of three names: a human cultist named Frulam Mondath, a half-orc named Bog Luck, and a half-dragon named Rezmir. I have arrived in Greenest, knowing itís next on the cultís list of targets."
Flaw: "I hate to admit it and will hate myself for it, but I'll run and preserve my own hide if the going gets tough."

Personality: When pulling a con Mira can feign any personality from hard bitten veteran to naÔve farmgirl (for someone so sly she can play a convincing airhead.) Her real personality though is witty, flirty (she claims to be cynical about love then falls hard anyway) and sardonic. She has few friends - her life as a scoundrel and con artist hasn't exactly favoured long term attachments - but those she has she cherishes. Although she cheerfully claims to be greedy (and the woman does love her gold) she seems to tip beggars more often than someone of her supposed enlightened self interest should.

Only when talk turns to the Cult of the Dragon does her expression darken and glimmer of rage touch her pale green eyes.

Character History: Mira hails from Amn originally, the child of an important merchant family that became involved in the Cult of the Dragon and for a while profited greatly for it. That period ended abruptly one evening a decade ago when a conspiracy of rivals, jealous at their success and power attacked the family while they were travelling to a Cult meeting in Baldur's Gate. Only Mira - at the time known by another name - survived, and did not dare to return to Amn where the vultures had already divided up Mira's parents empire. Instead the orphaned half-elf wandered the Sword Coast as relying on their wits and silver tongue.

Mira emerged from the experience drastically changed. Born physically male she had always identified as female and paid a wizard a small fortune to cook up an elixir that would let her outside match the person she was within (which also conveniently made it harder for the Cult of the Dragon to track her as if they were looking at all they'd still be looking for a male half-elf...) She trained in the use of the blade and the longbow, excelling especially at the latter.

And above all she ran cons. Only against the greedy, cruel and foolish of course but by Tymora there were enough of them on the Sword Coast! It gave her great pleasure depriving the undeserving of their wealth and if she kept much for herself she also gave generously to the Goddess of Luck, seeing her as the reason she survived.

Now she finds herself in Greenest, finally feeling smart enough and tough enough to take on the Cult of the Dragon. But this job might be a bit much for one woman, no matter how good with a bow or how clever with a quip. She needs friends...

Character Name:Professor Mjusi, wandering associate scholar
Race: Human, Calishite
Class: Druid

Description: A dark-skinned tubby little man, Prof Mjusi wears his scholars robes open over short breeches and low waterproof boots. He has several scars and tattoos and his hair, while short, has beads and trinkets braided into it.

Personality: Outgoing, gregarious, and cheerful to a fault, the professor has a tendency to talk. He is more than happy to share his knowledge, particularly of reptiles, lizards, and dragons, whether it is fact or just conjecture. He is also happy to share stories about his family, growing up, the swamps, people he met once, meals he has enjoyed, his plans, and whatever happens to trigger him.

Background: Custom: Dragon Scholar.

Character History: Mjusi is the son of a Calishite museum keeper who married a librarian's daughter. The museum wasn't a big one, but its proudest exhibit was a dinosaur skeleton from Chult. Mjusi grew up playing in the museum and like all children who see the giant skeletons, he went through a paleontology phase. Unlike most, he never really grew out of it. Unable to afford travel to Chult, he became a wandering scholar specializing in reptiles and related creatures. When he heard that dragons were presumably being seen on the sword coast, he had to come. Of all the apex predator reptiles, dragons were the absolute top of the food chain. And, they had treasure; enough to take him to Chult and buy him an entry to the universities of the land.

@Miguel Mercado

Name: Hirori
Age: 50
Gender Identity: Female
Race: Moonfolk (Custom Lineage)
Class: Artificer
Description: Her pasty, alabaster-like skin, moon-white hair, and elongated earlobes differentiated Hirori from most human females. Not to mention her piercingly deep sky-blue eyes. She was as tall and slender as an elf, and didn't look the athletic type at all. Hirori had the air and smell of a scholar, for that was what she truly was. Covering almost her entire body however was some strange alloyed armor, that seemed tailor-made to fit her physique. Hirori wore soft, flowing robes trimmed in gold and sapphire thread that looked more appropriate for a royal court than a seedy tavern. These days though, her robes are pretty threadbare. On her bare feet, she wore stark wooden clogs instead of boots.

Personality: Possessing a profound sense of wonder and curiosity, matched by a formidable mind and will to make things practical. Yes, Hirori was a pragmatist, yet also had the depth to appreciate the ephemeral and aesthetic, like songs, stories, or soft, silken robes. She also liked to laugh. Magic and anything arcane was enough to make her giddy and bubbling with excitement, particularly clockwork contraptions. Her true passion though, was in crafting, her armor being her foremost prototype and ever-evolving body of work.

This was before their rivals in the Dragon Cult slaughtered her family, of couse. Now, Hirori's obsessed with both revenge and improving herself so she wouldn't be as helpless as she was that fateful night...

Background Archetype: Cloistered Scholar
Personality Traits x2/Ideal/Bond/Flaw
Trait 1: I've always had a deep, voracious sense of wonder. These days, it's mostly clouded by rage.
Trait 1: There used to be so much in the world to see, places to go, and new experiences to try. Now they seem... monochromatic.
Ideal: Revenge, Knowledge. I don't care if people think I have an overdeveloped sense of vengeance; my family needs justice, and I need answers. I need to know WHY.
Bond: I used to live to honor my family. Now, I'm consumed by a desire to Hirori and her family were members of the Cult of the Dragon, until their rivals in the cult arranged to wipe them out. Though they slaughtered her kin, she survived, but they think she's dead. Now is her chance for vengeance! Her hit list consists of three names: a human cultist named Frulam Mondath, a half-orc named Bog Luck, and a half-dragon named Rezmir.avenge them.
Flaw: My hatred for those who murdered my family can be blinding and uncontrollable...

Character Background: Life is all fun and games until you join a Dragon Cult.

Actually, life was most definitely NOT fun and games for the Moonfolk under Kurruk's heavy thumb, cloud giant overlord of the hidden stronghold atop Icespire Peak. Legend had it that Hirori's race descended from five mystical moons in a realm far, far away from Faerun, but those were just stories. For Kurruk and his ilk, they were nothing but egghead slaves. "Craft me this armor, " "Build me this siege weapon," were the extent of what the most talented artificers in the Forgotten Realms were given to accomplish. Of course, the jotun took all the credit.

They thought the 'Wearers of Purple' were a way out. Thats what the Cult of the Dragon called themselves, at first. The start of a movement, or even a revolution. They talked of freedom, opportunity, discovery. In the end, it was all a power play. Because why else would Hirori and her family be massacred like cattle?

Tadashii. Her father, who taught her everything she knew about the art of artifice. Chuyo, her mother. Her little sister Sammi. Even the baby boy, Mugen, was not spared. That sweet, sweet baby boy...

Father must have known something. Something that the Cult didn't want known. And they killed them all to keep it hidden.

Hirori didn't know how or why she survived the night of slaughter. Perhaps they thought her dead. Perhaps it was deliberate; that they thought her too weak or too afraid to retaliate? Perhaps the Moon Goddess was watching over her. Perhaps it was pure luck. Perhaps it was simply Hirori's hatred that kept her alive.

The point is, Hirori was still alive. As Fate would have it, she was also free from the cloud giants. They didn't know that; not yet.

Rezmir. Bog Luck. Frulam Mondath.

Three names. She didn't know if there more. There were so many things Hirori didn't know. So many questions needing to be answered.

Hirori would get her answers. Then they would die.

Every. Single. One.
