Exhaustion
Rather than being a set list of tiered effects, characters will instead roll on the below table whenever they acrue a point of exhaustion. One example of when a character would gain a point of exhaustion is a failed camp check, or being revived after going unconcious.
PCs can have no more than 5 points of exhaustion, any more will cause them to fall unconcious.

d8 Effect
1 Sluggish - Speed Halved.
2 Unsteady - Disadvantage on dexterity and strength skills.
3 Surly – Cannot be friendly, disadvantage on social rolls.
4 Nihilistic - Disadvantage against magic and breath weapon.
5 Weakened – Disadvantage on attack rolls.
6 Nauseous – Disadvantage against poisons and diseases.
7 Bleary-eyed - Vision reduced by half, disadvantage on perception rolls.
8 Feeble – Hit point maximum halved.

Supplies
Rather than individually purchasing rations, water, firewood or lamp oil, all of these will be roughly translated into Supply
Each point of Supply weighs two pounds and is worth 1 gold.
This makes purchasing gear and planning out trips easier and a bit more flexible, which is nice.
There are multiple scenarios in which a supply might be spent outside of camping, so it's always wise to keep some on hand.

Spending the Night
To spend the night, three needs must be met.

1. Food
2. Water
3. Shelter

To fulfill these needs, roll a 1d6.
The needs of the party for a need are met on a 4-6.
Only one character can roll to fulfill a single need per night.
Proficiency in Nature or Survival grants an advantage on these rolls.
An extra advantage is given to a roll for every character who chooses to aid in fulfilling the need and is proficient in the previously mentioned skills.

The Results of Success and Failure

3 Perfectly adequate
. Everybody has enough to get by and the nobody gains a point of exhaustion
2 Running a bit short. there's not quite enough to get by, and somebody is going to suffer for it. One party member gains an exhaustion point.
1 A rough night. A lack of sufficient supplies results in the party failing to get a proper rest. Everyone gains an exhaustion point.
0 It doesn't get much worse. Completely destitute, the entire party gains 2 exhaustion points.

Curing Exhaustion
In the event of a failed camping check, a character may instead spend a supply to negate exhaustion gain for themselves.

A character suffering from exhaustion cannot cure it in the field. It requires special magics (restoration spells or similar) or a day of rest in a permanent settlement to cure a singular point of exhaustion.

All of these rules are adapted from "Into the Wyrd and Wild" By Charles Ferguson-Avery, a nifty little book whose wilderness rules I'll be lifting and implementing as the party travels in the Yondering Lands

InitiativeThe realities of pbp means that combat order can be awkward. People have busy schedules and this sometimes results in other party members sitting on posts until someone else has finished. For the DM as well this means multiple combat posts in short periods of time.
So party and enemy initiatives are common.
But who goes first? To determine this each side of a combat encounter rolls their initiatives, then determines their average initiative as a group. These group initiatives determine which party goes before the other in a combat.
