I am leaning towards it as well to be honest. I had decided the same under previous rulings as well. I always value the freedom of choice point buy brings to the table

Man. Rolling out 3 sets is... nice.

But 32 point buy? Me like that. It's pretty unlikely that I'd roll better than what 32 let's me build. Probably.

GAH!

Dang. Went ahead and rolled stats and HP. With the 32 point buy, I coulda made a 15 into a 16, but oh well. But my HP ended up a little higher than it would've with average rolls.

As for background connections, I'm not seeing a ton of overlap. I think I'm happy just to let things develop naturally in-game. Hope that's alright with you folks.

Looking forward to getting started! I just gotta finish ironing out character details first.

Well, this is my preliminary work before I put in the details of a modified DT-12.

Swanky look, SB!

Isn't it a little front, heavy, though? From the looks of it, that handle's gotta have a lot of hidden weight to it to keep that barrel from dropping down every time you aim.

I dunno, it's gonna need all that inertia to counter the recoil. DT-12 by itself weighs 2 kg <.<

I wouldn't worry so much about making it seem realistic. GeoAvanti makes a good point weight doesn't seem well balanced, however I would argue that it is a space gun and space guns just have to look all kinds of awesome instead of resembling an actual real world firearm. I personally find the design beautiful. Nice work sneaky.

That's a surprisingly relevant quip, Mel!

Most modern handguns are designed to balance around where the ammunition is stored-- be it a semi-auto clip in the grip, or the chamber of a revolver-- many times, the ammunition can weigh as much as, if not more than, the actual I favor .45s, so this isn't usually the case with smaller loads like .22sfirearm!

Since blasters are basically just ignited bursts of gas, they probably don't have much physical heft to the power cell, but they would create a lot more heat. You usually want lighter materials around the barrel and firing mechanism, since they tend to dissipate heat better, so you could easily counter-balance a smaller grip by using a heavier material, since the front would most likely be composed of a lighter material. Optimally, you'd have a composite so good at heat dissipation that you wouldn't need to worry about barrel distortion, and that tends to be light-weight materials.

I've about finished my sheet, I just have to decide on a new language and Starship maneuver because of the increase of the Point Buy

To be honest, I wouldn't worry about the barrel fins that much as they would be tapered with a hexagonal profile and pretty much most of the heft is gonna be at the gas cylinder at the back. Make it look like a Tau pulse gun.

The first posts are almost ready for the game to start.

Two of them are ready in fact, but I wanted to get them all posted at the same time and I ran out of time on the third. All three will be going live tomorrow, so get your game faces ready!
