I like this discussion and it raises points that I do consider when running a game. And we
Have to take into account here that we are playing PbP so there are speed considerations, ie: hanging up a game with unnecessary rolls. Generally, if there is every reasonable expectation that your character will succeed then write it out, play it out, and I’m not going to make you go back and re-do it with a roll. A master acrobat, don’t roll to just hang there unless you want to take the chance that you roll a one and your fingers slip and you fall, embarrassing yourself. Somebody playing someone with terrible dexterity who has never seen the bars, there is no reasonable Expectation to succeed so you had best roll. Personally, I view PbP as more of a shared written story then anything else so I encourage writing. Write well, write true to your character and if you have a doubt, shoot me a line and I’ll let you know whether I prefer a roll.

Finally got a chance to revise my post. Qalo is still asking the fish-man and Stool some questions, but addressing them both inside the cage.

I think the game is quite active
Speaking of being nearly killed, Tarrel's healing power luckily still works in the cell so he may be able to restore Nienna's health once he notices that she is still alive in the puddle of her own blood. P.S.: As the scene in Ilvara's private chamber hasn't moved forward, I felt free to amend the last paragraph of my latest post (initially, I thought writing about the plan with the fog in a later post, but this would have held back the game unnecessarily).

You know you're in deep when the paladin's grand total of 5 HP from Lay on Hands is your most reliable source of healing

Hm. I've been feeling like there might be a more fitting and/or useful language than Sylvan for Tarrol to have learned. He's already got several, especially for someone who's a little dim, so a useless one isn't the end of the world. Still, I wouldn't mind finding one that makes more sense or has more use.

Just keeping track:
1. I have a metal pipe...hidden at the moment by Rugadh. 2. 4 bolts... presumably with some poison residual. 3. A Quaggoth that is immune to poison? 4. Loosened bars...or at least knowledge that with help they will break.

1. Rugadh Faoi showed you where she had been keeping it.
2. Begon, I won't count on the poison on the four bolts (emphasis mine): Quote:
Rugadh Faoi's initial idea about the four bolts was to use them to pick the locks of their manacles. 3. Quaggoths are usually immune to poison. I felt free to decide that Rugadh Faoi knew this because a quaggoth is a typical monster employed by the drow.

@Landsknechts: Before the dance, Flynn received a bardic inspiration die from Rugadh Faoi; did you miss this or did he deliberately not use it? (Using it, your Performance roll would have been 1d20+1d6.)
