You could also cut out his tongue. More permanent that way and doesn't suffer from the defect of the fact that he will eventually need to drink water and to eat. This works especially well if you have spells that can read minds, for you can still interrogate him.

@mrceej The ring will have been taken.
You can cast spells without components without it. But...well. I guess try casting something.

On that note, Zar will have had his wedding ring taken and be rather seething about it.
EDIT: This is my hundredth message. Hooray!

Tarrel the Zealous, a History
Post 1: Overdramatic angst. Post 2: Overdramatic posturing. Post 3: Overdramatic racism. Edit: Let me know if Tarrel's causing too much tension with his... Tarrel-ness, and I'll tone it down. Last edited by Prometheus; Mar 2nd, 2018 at 12:36 AM. |

Jeff, this is a great superb setting for the first scene. I think I have never had that much fun when it comes to becoming acquainted with all the characters and their quirks in a role-playing campaign before. This includes, in particular, the great description of Tarrel's character.
Again a few quick questions:

EDIT: Bonus question: Are there any guards standing watch at the heavy iron door? During the three days of her capture, did Rugadh Faoi have the opportunity to look through the door to see what's outside (at least in a radius of 120 feet)? PS: After the half-orc has broken my chains:

I'm going to bow out of this one, thanks for picking me and sorry for wasting your time on it. Good luck.

@disaster master:
• yep. Ilvara is in charge here. Know that she is ambitious, that this post is on the far outskirts of Drow lands and not prestigious. Anyone here is either being punished or on thier way up the ladder. •you know that the slave markets are in Menzoberranzan and the Drow keep stations like this one to gather slaves before they send them to the city. • The mane Drow ignored your Stone, continuing to stare moodily off into the distance. You will likely have to speak to him to learn anything from him. •mage hand: I actually read that as if he held the spider up to the light to cast a shadow. Perhaps I’m wrong. But magic is not working in the cell. All: There are wards in the cell that negate magic. @Trinity: very sorry to hear that. Good luck elsewhere.

Ah, fair enough. Yeah, the original attempt was to use mage hand. But with Qalo having been there for a few days probably would have realized by now that his spells won’t cast. So he would have just dangled the spider in front of he deep gnome still. So how you read it still works.

@Jeff: What can you tell us about our current surroundings? How many guards are nearby and are they close enough to hear our conversations? If there are guards nearby, have they arrived recently or is a shift change due?
Also, what about the lighting situation? Is it lit enough for the humans to see enough of their surroundings or are they pretty limited to what is right in front of them? One last one: How often are we dragged out for work and has it happened yet today?

@mrceej at least some of you are pulled out to do work daily. No one has gone out today.
You are in dim light. If you would like to guess how many guards, how short changes work you can roll wisdom with a +1 for each day you have been there. Or ask the others.

Rolled a 15 on the WIS check.
Trying to find out what all I would know, before needing to reach out to others too much. Seeing as how most of you are a bit shady

@Begon: Nice rolls! That should help get some things moving, for sure.
