Greetings, All!
After a great deal of groveling, I am so grateful to have been invited to this game. I hope that we well have fun as we go on these crazy and epic adventures together.

A post with an application and a PM isn't a great deal of groveling
Anyway, Gilbarad fits the game very nicely and we're just at the player limit I set, so the game's actually full now. What do you all prefer in the game posts? - 3rd person past narrative - 3rd person present narrative - 1st person (present) narrative |

Given his Culture and Canon, I do feel like I need to come up with a moniker for him to go by so he's not constantly revealing his heritage to everyone he meets. Aragorn went by 'Strider' for instance, but I've yet to think of anything that is fitting for my slightly shorter Ranger. Quote:
Technically I don't know what my style would be considered since usually my narrative comes through in my mind as a 'Narrator', à la David Attenborough. Question: The entry for Pipe usage is a little vague. To gain the effects, does one need to have the proper Pipe Tool Proficiency, or is the Proficiency needed only to do the "art" of it? I.E. blowing smoke rings and the like. I ask because I've noticed there seems to be a lack of free "Ribbon Proficiencies" (languages, tools, and games) accompanying Backgrounds as is seen in 5e Proper, and it seems odd to me that so few actually receive such Proficiencies in such things.

I'm sorry, folks but I have to bow out of the game. Life events have aligned and I have become busier than a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest.
I hope your adventure is loads of fun! |

Whichever works best for you if fine with me.

Hmm, I'm fine on whichever. I can even handle 2nd person if that's what you want.

Then, to get the 'story feel' I'd like to ask everyone to use 3rd person past.
There's a link in the world lore post, with images about Esgaroth. Quote:

EDIT: Apparently, tool proficiencies come from class, languages from cultural background, and games are not handed out free. Since the pipe gives a free advantage simply for spending an hour, I decided this effect needs proficiency with it. Last edited by PsychicNomad; Oct 6th, 2022 at 01:20 PM. |

And some more lore on the common place where the group regularly hangs out, especially when looking for a job or waiting for bad weather to pass.
How much ready are the characters for play? Can we start the story? Last edited by PsychicNomad; Oct 6th, 2022 at 01:48 PM. |

I'm good with any style, its not something i've considered before to be honest but i seem to mostly post in 3rd person past tense anyway so i'm good
Looking through the AiME, it seems only Treasure Hunters and Scholars get Tool proficiencies and only the Scholar can select Pipe but it could be argued that the Warden's level 2 ability Jack of All Trades gives half a proficiency in anything not covered by actual Proficiencies, including tool use. so you might not be able to benefit from the full pipe benefits but you could probably make smoke art better than all but a scholar with it Roan and Grey are ready when the company is |

Question about equipment. does anyone know if an errata came out for the equipment chart on page 153 of the players book? just looking it over now and the prices seem waaaay out.
1 days rations costs 120 copper coins, which is 10 silver pennies, the same price as an Axe, a shield or a short sword?! what.. a two person tent costs 2 silver pennies but a blanket or a tinderbox both cost 10 silver each? Characters get a seasonal travelling pack to start which includes 1 weeks worth of rations and apparently only costs 9 silver pennies for a spring/summer season or 18sp for an autumn/winter one. not to mention other items if purchased for a new season |

My character is ready.
Also, hm, that seems strange. Prices seem weird, but maybe it's just how the game is just so abundant with weapons and resources. |

Rue is ready to go as long as a disguise kit and forgery kit are less than 12 silver otherwise I need to refigure out her purchases. I also need the weight of those items since they don't exist in the player's guide...
Oh and yes, Rue is clearly NOT her elvish name. She's yet to tell anyone what her elvish name is.
