Why settle for one genre, when you can have 3? Or as my daughter was fond of saying back when she was a toddler, "My favorite color is all the colors!" You can go ahead and add me to all 3 GM threads and I may end up cherry picking from them if not outright mashing things together.

Why, start another one in another genre. You can do all three genres by the end of the week!

Well, I was sort of thinking of offering myself up as a GM in case it's needed (but not for another 48-hour rush!). But at this point I don't think so...

Congrats to our fast-finishers crossing the line already!
Looks like zev and I have some catching up to do. On that note, we have a game name now: ”Whispers in the Aether: Mysteries of Magic and Machinery"

Ok, rhaiber and zevonian, your game thread is up! rhaiber I added you to all three GM threads. zevonian, I gave you all the premises and all the character pregens to look at. I don't know how you guys are going to manage mashing up all of that, but however it turns out, it will be exciting to read! Good luck to you both.

hi cheerio and everybody, I'd like to answer to all the questions above but I'm afraid it'd be a little bit spoilery. I can say I found the whole thing relatively hard, but not as much as I thought (even considering a 7-hour gap in our time zones).
Of course I had banana as GM, and that helped a lot, not only because he rules (he does), but also because we go way back. This allowed us to find "the flow" right away and also -- most importantly -- to use an IM like Telegram to communicate in real-time during the (long) sessions when we were practically playing in real-time. This of course requires although we might have achieved a similar result, a bit clunkier, with Discordsharing a RL phone contact, and I understand it's not for everyone, but it's been crucial for our speedrun. I figure the OOC thread will be enough for people aiming to finish in 2 weeks (esp. if you've set up in advance a twice-daily posting rate with specific times). About the game proper, and specifically the random rolls, I think maybe cheerio and Filly were afraid that... there was not enough plot in the scenario? The result has been a constant sequence of plot twists (at a certain point, practically one every post!), which may have been too much for its own good. GMs may want to tone that aspect down, if the game doesn't show a need for it. That said, of course a game that's fully resolved in 24 player posts is by its very nature a strange beast, so... it's difficult to evaluate. We must do it again soon to verify my hypothesis! My advice is to have fun and don't be afraid to do weird stuff. Think of your future readers, you'll want to entertain and amaze them!

It just hit me that this would make an epic compendium of "how many takes can you get with the same scenario" stories to publish as a massive tome. I hope we'll get to read everyone's in time, though I begin to wonder where I'll find the time.

Eight teams are now on the course. Good luck to team Mythical Badger and team Lost Star.
