Plot Summary The characters are in the city of Neverwinter and adherents to the Church of Beauty, the Temple of Sune in the city. Their patron, the High Priest Naes, tasks them to escort a particular sealed chest to his twin brother Tiberius in Baldur's Gate. Once Tiberius has attended to the matters in the chest, it'll be escorted back. The job carries them along the Trade Road to Scornubel, then to a ferry over the River Chionthar all the way to the Gate. The characters will be paid 100 gp each by the Church of Beauty upon return with the chest, on the condition that the chest is not opened by anyone but Tiberius, and no questions are asked about the contents of the chest. Naes stresses that this job must be completed with the utmost discretion.

About the GM, and about this game... Hi all! You can call me Vash or Inu, or Inuvash. I've been GMing/DMing for the better part of a decade at this point, and this is my second game after returning back from a hiatus last year. I've run some PF2 with some friends on Roll20, and thought I'd try a campaign of it here! If I make any errors on the rules, please do bare with me.

Application Information Character Creation Notes You don't need a sheet completed to apply. We'll start at level 2. I'm thinking that advancement speed will be like "super fast", 500XP per level. Considering we're playing PbP, that'll still take a while. I'm projecting by the end of the adventure, the characters will be Level 6. I also figure there will be sidequests available that could push it to 7. Due to magic items being a bit rarer in the Forgotten Realms, we'll be using Automatic Bonus Progression, which'll give the following benefits across the range of levels: PC Level Benefits 2 Attack potency +1 3 Skill potency (one at +1) 4 Devastating attacks (two dice) 5 Defense potency +1 6 Skill potency (two at +1 each) 7 Perception potency +1 I'd like this game to be on an almost-daily basis, excluding weekends and holidays. Even if you don't make an RP-post, an OOC-post is fine. In addition, I encourage you to write shorter posts to keep up with it better. Some weeks are bound to be slower than others, and that's okay so long as things are moving along. Below, I'm going to go through the various character options and considerations you should take in making your character: Some factor of your character should tie your character to the Church of Sune, either their class, their background, or their free archetype. Oooh, I've been waiting for another shot at a PF2e game, and this one has a travel emphasis to boot! Are you planning on using the recently released Remaster rules, or sticking to the "Legacy" rules set? I'll be applying either way, so consider this a placeholder while I consider ideas.

Application You: I go by "Kaigen," will happily answer to "K," and use he/they pronouns. I like a bit of romance in my games, both in the literary sense indicated in the OP and also in the sense of characters having squishy feelings about each other. Picking a class is sometimes difficult for me in systems like this because I like to fill gaps in party capabilities and play support roles. Or sometimes I just get a bolt of inspiration. Character Name: Korin Culnamo Ancestry: Half-elf Background: Firebrand Follower (If a little reflavoring is okay) Korin did not think she was destined for an exciting life. She was born a farmer's daughter and assumed that she would continue that work. One fateful night, however, she was set upon by a vampire spawn passing through the area, fleeing hunters and desperate to feed. Luckily for her, one of its pursuers, Sister Heloise of the Chivalric Order of the Ruby Rose, was fast on its heels and destroyed it before Korin could come to harm. Korin's family put Heloise up for the night in thanks (though she tried to demur on the grounds that there would have been no danger if the vampire spawn had not been fleeing her in the first place), giving Korin a chance to press her for stories of other places. She was enraptured by her beautiful rescuer's deeds, and Heloise, seeing Korin's eagerness, allowed that she was beautiful enough, inside and out, to be a Sister of the Rose, if she had the dedication. Korin set out to prove herself the very next day, and has been serving Sune ever since. Class: Champion (Redeemer) Archetype: Bastion Other: I'm thinking this character is going to play up the "chivalry and ideals" angle with some "courtly love," e.g. showing devotion through acts of valor and gallantry. I made the villain in the backstory undead because apparently that's a focus of the Ruby Rose, but if there's going to be a heavy fiendish presence, I may swap for that to tie into the thematics better (and justify taking an oath feat against fiends).

Thinking of an ex-slave that got freed when Sune's religion got a hold on the town he was held.

Hugar WIP You: Remorazz. He/Him. Character Name: Hugar Lionbite Ancestry: Half-Orc Background: Gladiator Class: Fighter Archetype: Dual-Weapon Warrior Other: A Half-orc/half-hobgoblin mix, captured as a slave when he was in his teen years (11-12), and quite literally thrown to the lions with other "forced volunteers". As a wounded lion grappled him, completely disarmed, he had no other choice than to bite his neck as hard as he could, killing him. As a sole survivor of that match, he was granted his life, and got into the "crowd's favourite squad" as the character of "good savage" and surviving for years in the arena with the title "Hugar the Lionbite". But the town got slowly converted in the worship of Sune, and eventually abolished slavery altogether. One of the church top agents, priestess Darunia Quisgella, was sent to the town to assure that the legislation would pass, and led the way in giving the Grateful for being freed from captivity. Hugar became wildly infatuated with the priestess, and a bit for gratitude, and a bit for love, he became a strict Sune follower, swearing to break all chains. Darunia keeps travelling around Faerun, working hard for Cult of Beauty, while Hugar is struggling a bit to adapt to the new lifestyle. The beauty factor sometimes comes as an obstacle for him, but his battle helmet covers most of his ugly face, for official functions and battle.

Yes! So basically, instead of multiclassing (where you take levels in another class) or prestige classes, PF2 has Archetypes.

At second level and every other level after - you get a class feat. You can opt to instead get an Archetype and take feats from that- either to get some benefits of another class or to lean into a prestige-class-like concept.

The Free Archetype optional rule is a very common one used at a lot of tables. At level 2 and every other level after- you get your class feat, and *also* get to explore an Archetype. Characters end up a little stronger and more versatile, but get this extra dimension to play with.

So if I look at Kaigen's character, Korin, we see a Champion (basically a paladin) with the Very shield-oriented iircBastion archetype- signalling they want Korin to be real tanky. =)

Oh my. It sounds like a cool way to customize things! I'll admit I am going to have to crash course on the mechanics. I've actually been in two (short-lived) PF2 games, but both times my character was built for me and I just rolled what the GM told me, lol! (But one of those times my bard cast paranoia on a Hydra and all but caused it to take itself out in a single round, so I enjoyed that!)

@Bruiser: I have no plans to continue after the core adventure. That said, I'm planning for the adventure to be more than gaining 5 levels on a trip between towns, lol.
