Oren Kyre
Oren witnesses the pale pillar of light shine down upon the battle, and can hear the whoosh of the tidal wave. He knew that some of his friends were flexing their magical muscles, and could only hope that the rest were faring just as well. There was no time to glance around as he could see through the bushes there were other cultists and hell hounds racing towards them.
The cultist before him falls with the name "Gavric" on his lips, a name that Oren recalls from the last battle, but he thought that they had killed him then. More to puzzle on later... "Lux!" it's all he needed to say, since he and the imp were telepathically linked and the little creature knew Oren's mind as well as the warlock did. At once, Lux turns invisible only to appear behind one of the approaching cultists. Oren lowers his hammer and focuses his attention on the cultist further away, past the fiery hounds. Once in view he unleashes a wave of mental energy in the man's direction! Last edited by mountainbound; Dec 1st, 2024 at 12:10 AM. |

Oren winces as he feels the invisible psychic cord connecting him and Lux on this plane snap. He didn't have to look to know that his imp companion was slain - for now at least. "That'll cost me," he mutters somewhat sardonically, figuring the imp will exact payment in the form of aged single malt whiskey when he flaps into the material plane once again.
The roar of a wounded grissly bear snaps him back to the moment as he sees his dearest companion in beast form and getting savagely attacked by a trio of hell hounds. Thankfully, Adelaide and Gallindan were already stepping in to help. Hefting his warhammer, the warlock strides in Daybreak's direction to intercede as well. He sends another wave of psychic energy at the cultist closest to her, while rounding on the cultist still coming out of the woods. "You should rethink your allegiances. Before you are completely destroyed, you have one last chance to surrender." Last edited by mountainbound; Dec 10th, 2024 at 10:56 AM. |

Just when he thought it might be the end, Oren watches as the spray of gore opens a gate to the abyss, unleashing another foe. He moves forward, staying close to Daybreak and getting between the wagon and the demon as Gallindan moves forward as well.
The warlock had some experience with demons, and shouts encouragement to his companions, particularly Isabelle, "Take heart! This creature can die like any other beast!" With that, he unleashes a blast of energy designed to knock the still dazed creature flat. He hoped, at least. |

As a warlock, Oren's magical resources were thin at best. Cursing to see his tactical error complicate the rest of the party's attacks, he sees his options diminish as the demon takes to the air. "Not sure what our most effective path is now," he mutters, but he's sure this group can figure it out.
In the meantime, he sends a wave of psychic energy at the demon, hoping to keep it fighting rather than letting it fly away. Last edited by mountainbound; Jan 1st, 2025 at 10:33 AM. |
