I'll playtest whatever you'd like for you And even write a fun BG if you'd like to help with the story part! Crusader/Something... Just got to decide if you would prefer fun flavor, or have us try and go for uberness?

Huh, thought I posted... apologies if this ends up double posting. Hi! Color me interested You're right that Gestalt makes things too tasty to pass up - I'll playtest whatever it is that you throw my way. Really though, this is a great way to do something that sounds really fun, but might normally get your and your party killed out of unsuitability.... Oh - or would you prefer flavor or uberness?

I would love to help with a Gestalt run also unless you get enough people and or don't want me in two different testing groups I was thinking Cleric/ something I'll work on it more later, but i would defiantly like to have a mini army of undead so i might end up /necro at some point

fox: crusader is what i needed... so put something fun together. i dpont use alignment as a class prereq, so be fancy if you want. optimize as you please.

If you don't need another character, I'd still like to poke around with your rules and give you examples of abuses it opens up. However, gestalt is so abusable on its own that I think I'll focus on normal characters, if that's all right. Too much temptation the other way. What sources do you want used?

zoy; ??? this is not a duskblade. it has no practical casting or marial adept levels. If you are interested in playing, i need builds that will meet my playtesting needs.

ah, sorry. I'll figure something out with the martial adept levels. No offense, but when I looked over the spell point system I didn't really like it.

they're practically the same; tob and spellpoint. If this isnt to your taste, no hard feelings.

Id sure appreciate knowing why you dont like it, and why the tob is good, but spells aren't?

because with the ToB, you can do things without manuvers - decent HP, Bs Atk, etc. Most Casters cast spells, and that's pretty much it. I like the unearthed arcana variant alright, but the constantly recharging points feels to much like a video game. It probably wouldn't be bad with gestalt, but in order to see how something plays out, you need to test it alone in various situations.

Example:
As a crusader, you are a wicked, wicked cool fighter when you have manuvers. You are still a pretty cool fighter without manuvers
As a caster, you are death incarnate if you have the right spells. If you don't have your spells you can shoot your little crossbow for 1d8 damage.

I also am not fond of waiting a round during combat, especially with pbp - it's too slow, and it makes me loose interest in the game.

Ok, question. It says

Crusaders start with NO pool, but automatically accumulate points per round, maxing at a number determined by level.

Does that mean that you don't have to waste a standard action for the point recovery?

agreed regarding crusader, but this system makes spells virtually unlimited: why would you use a crossbow?

I agree with the video game analogy. I'll actually take that as a compliment, making the game more in synch with mmorpg's without making the "roles" mistake 4e made.
