House Rules and Miscellany

The sign out in front of the Curious Goblin shows a wide-eyed goblin reading an upside-down book nearly as tall as he is. Inside, this bookshop is a testament to one man’s obsession with the printed word. Chask Haladan has maintained his love affair with books for nearly 70 years and shows no sign of giving it up anytime soon.

Character GuidelinesPathfinder 20 point-buy for Ability Scores.

Max HP at Level 1, roll for subsequent levels, re-rolling less than half. It might look weird, but trust me, they're correct.(1d6rl2, 1d8rl3, 1d10rl4, 1d12rl5)

Maximum gold for your class, Level 5.

We will be using the rules for Hero Points! Each character will begin the adventure with 1, modified by any applicable feats or bonuses. I will award more for great posts and significant milestones.

Each character will be allowed two Traits. You may pick one from any of the trees, but the other absolutely must be a campaign trait!!! I will also allow Jade Regent campaign traits since it's the same setting, just a few years earlier. The Rise of the Runelords Player's Guide is a free download at Paizo! It has a lot of really good information if you'd like to check it out. It also details many of the available campaign traits not listed on the d20PFSRD.

Don't forget your Favored Class Bonuses! (+1 HP or +1 Skill rank for every level you attain in your favored class.)

HOUSE RULE!When casting healing spells, consuming healing potions, or rolling for recovery after a rest, you may re-roll for anything less than half. (1d6rl2, 1d8rl3, 1d10rl4, 1d12rl5)

DamageWhen your current hit point total is half or more of your hit point maximum, you show no signs of injury This is entirely up to you. Play it off or play it up.beyond cosmetic damage. When you drop below half your hit point maximum, you begin to show signs of wear, such as cuts and bruises. An attack that reduces you to 0 hit points strikes you directly, leaving a bleeding injury or other trauma, or it simply knocks you unconscious.
Short Rest (1 Hour)A character can spend one or more Hit Dice at the end of a short rest, up to the character's maximum number of Hit Dice, which is equal to the character's level. For each Hit Die spent in this way, the player rolls the die and adds the character's Constitution modifier to it. The character regains hit points equal to the total. A character regains Hit Dice to be used in this fashion through longer periods of rest.
Long Rest (8 Hours)At the end of a long rest, a character regains all lost hit points. The character also regains spent Hit Dice, up to a number of dice equal to half of the character's total number of them. For example, if a character has eight Hit Dice, he or she can regain four spent Hit Dice upon finishing a long rest.

A character can't benefit from more than one long rest in a 24-hour period, and a character must have at least 1 hit point at the start of the rest to gain its benefits.
