~Round II~
The Saviors just keep coming.

Edledhron and Doyle work in tandem and the Goblin before them is put down quickly, with a bit of healing given back to the Elf, the meaningful look between them an honest one. The arrow barely hangs into the Elf's ribs, ready to fall out with but a moment's notice.

Behind them Igna makes quick work of the last Goblin at the rear and takes a step back, while Choni charges forward, past Venka, to the Goblin that still hung to life. A scream, and her blade makes short work of it, sending blood flying. Rapid has to admit she's a damn good warrior. Having stepped back, though, he notices some of the blood from his own kill. Sprinkled onto Lonjiku Kaijitsu's encasement of glass, it drips down, rolling to the floor, in small rivers.

Choni looks beside her to the fire, to see prongs, tongs, and all manner of molten glass still hanging on. Weapons to a warrior's mind: flaming ones. She prepares to use them, with extreme prejudice.

Venka sees her chance and charges forward, stopping before the one on the table, gnawing on a removed hand. Holding her weapon forward, the Goblin drops it, though not his weapons, and squeaks. Realizing the attack is not coming, he almost jumps away, but Venka has a use for him.

The other two Goblins left don't. They fire two arrows at her, but fortunately for her, fury is a shield today, Attacks: 10 and 11; I hate you, dice roller off-siteand both go wide.

The Goblin wisely answers her question. "Big Ears take girl! Bright sun, in morn! Pretty sky, orange sea, dark west." The Goblin points out the window, to the sea. Cryptic but not inaccurate. "No tell where go, just take friends! Please don't kill! I have doggo to feed!"

He opens one eye, wondering if that worked.

Venka barely paid attention to the arrows whizzing by her, instead her focus was on the goblin that was cowering in front of her. The answer didn't make her any happier, it sounded like they were hours behind Tsuto and had no idea which direction he had gone. "Fine, you can live, but don't move or my friends will kill you." She shifted her attention to the next goblin and stepped forward and around the one that seemed to have surrendered. It was a little risky turning her back on it, but she knew the others would have her back if it changed its mind about cooperating.

Suddenly, she thrust her polearm forward, G6, 16 to hit, 4 piercing damage.striking one of the two furthest goblins in the stomach. "One of you can live too, but only if you can tell us where big ears took the girl. What's it going to be?" she asked, slightly twisting the blade still sunk in the goblin's flesh.

Igna ‘Rapid’ Pigro

Oh sweet goddess, no. The sounds was becoming way too much for the youth. He blamed the nausea that had overtaken him right from the start. Where is the heroism in all this? He backed away from the blood, the gore, the death, the insanity. There is only so much backing you can do on a table, though and soon, Igna let out a yelp of surprise as he fell from the table and rolled into a crouch. From this position he could see Choni’s boots stomping down the workshop in slowmotion. Sprays of blood with every boot planted in the pools and the wet-cloth-against-stone-sound as meat and intestines gave way under her weight. unbearable... There was no way, Igna was running through the mass of dead people lying in the center of the room. The others were quickly ganging up on the goblins and for Igna it all became a hoarse, barely inaudible whisper, I’m keeping an eye out here, guys.

He bolted for the door. Marginally fresher air and no sight of mauled and shredded faces and bodies. No glass-encased nobilities or anything. just a normal day at the Glassworks...

He drew in breath and started running down the hallway, listening for threats and making his way as quickly as his wobbly legs could carry him. If the goblins saw the futility in the assault, they would surely bolt for the door and he guess that stopping them out here, was better than in there. Everything is better than being in there..

Choni Kokip

A whisper, a small plea behind her drew Choni's shoulders up tight. A voice, she knew, she understood well and in it she felt the anger surge through her that yet another had to be exposed to such horrors as the darkness, the disgusting things of the world might offer. The low hum broke into a harsh grate of sound, caught between a discordant harmonic and a raspy hum. "Ga-le-yu..." The word was lyrical, even in the harshness of tone which surrounded it as the last note hung a moment. A flicked snatch of the air with her left hand as she strode forward toward the pair on the far side of the room. A glance to the side as the goblin finished his whimpered answer and looked to see his fate and her left hand released. "Na!". A sharp end to the rasped, throaty growl of tune, the finality a pure, clear note, and for the moment, Choni fell silent once more, the hum gone from its place in her undertone.

One might have been forgiven if they had watched the woman's sword instead of say, the air above their head. If the Shoanti had focused longer on the draw and aim of glass slag, she might have managed more within her 'grasp', though her attention seemed to have wavered somewhat in her movements. Glass slag, cradled in an invisible hand, was indeed released to splatter unceremoniously onto the unwitting goblin, though with far less damage than it might have. Another near call for the pitiful creature it seemed.

Edledhron nodded to Doyle as he felt the stinging pain at his ribs heal. He appreciated the assistance, but his mind didn't allow for much more than the simple acknowledgement. He left the arrow, stuck to his clothes more than his flesh at that point, and looked over the battlefield. He watched as everyone but Igna pressed forward.

The two further goblins fired another volley of arrows, though the elf remained still as the arrows flew wide of any target. Another goblin unwisely spoke out a lack of knowledge. They had to have known that vengeance would come for the slaughter in the room, so even lying about knowing something was what might have kept them safe. Venka pressed the more militant goblins for more information, as Choni pressed forward and Igna retreated into the hallway. The magus' sharp eyes saw the young man's lips move but even his sharp ears could hear the whisper.

Edledhron let the rogue slip from his mind as he returned his attention to the battle. Venka seemed intent on getting more information and he calculated the distance between himself and his enemies as he planned his actions in his mind. Then he Moves ne, n, ne, ne, ne to the spot above Venka's previous position.moved in a graceful gait, brandishing his blade in a way he hoped was menacing, but was actually aimed at throwing the goblin blood from the blade.

When he reached the proper spot, he spoke the elven spell in a strong voice, "Huumata.Elvish for "Daze"*" As the air around him shimmered, he pointed to the further enemy and the hazy air shimmered around the goblin as well. And Edledhron watched closely, but gritted his teeth as the goblin's eyes unfocused for just a second before their focus had returned. The goblin's The goblin rolled a 17 to save against Daze.will was stronger than the elf had expected.

Doyle Costello

Doyle Costello
They were winning the room. Administering justice in what little extent the wrongs committed could be righted. This left Doyle none the happier. Quite the contrary. It made room for his frustration.

He heard the others continue the questions and demands, while they slaughtered their way through the goblins. It was the only mean they had and it was somewhat effective, but Doyle’s limited mind had a hard time grasping the puzzle words of the goblin, Bright sun, in morn! Pretty sky, orange sea, dark west Was he simply talking about the sun setting or dawning? The rose knight shook his head, which led his visor to surge past a forgotten goblin to his right. That would not do.

This was the one Venka had promised life, but Doyle was not content with letting it go before it had explained itself. He leaned right and followed his weight with all his speed, charging across the room towards the little creature as quickly as he could, YOU! Doyle was still mad and now he threw away both weapon and shield to grasp the goblin in his arms and lift it up in height of his visor slit, Explain yourself, you wretched creature. Which way did they go?

~Round III~
It starts coming to a close.

Rapid can see that, anyone can. But Rapid sees the last two in the other side of the room, knowing full well they could make a run for it. He knows they could warn whoever has Ameiko, whether it's Tsuto or someone else. He knows that there's a chance he can stop them.

So he does the most logical thing and leaves.

No one seems to notice, though, as they prepare for the final bouts, as best they can fight them. Venka gets her answers, but warns the Goblin not to move. He closes his eyes again as she moves on, and he misses his chance to flee. Instead, he hears some strange song coming closer, and then suddenly feels a burning sensation. The Goblin cries out, almost turning to see Choni as she delivers the final note of her procession, before large hands grapple the Goblin's shoulders. He screams, taking the arrow in his hand and stabbing at Doyle with it, AoO: 14scraping his armor but not breaking through. He squeals, legs flailing, but he cannot escape. He points behind it, past Choni, with a pointed broken nail at the doors near the end of the room. "That... way. Please... no keel. Me too much to live for."

The other two do not.

Edledhron attempts to daze one of the two remaining Goblins with a spell but the Goblin merely laughs, thinking about firing at him. Instead, the armored visage of Venka appears, stabbing at her companion. She growls, as her companion 5 ft' step, in accordance with our previous shenanigans bending the rules steps off the table and downward, putting his bow down and drawing his sword. Ducked down, he has cover from Venka, though she can see the green ears and hear the grunting from the near-deadly wound she gave him. The other Goblin laughs, pointing. "You red! Almost dead! Now she die!" She pulls back her arrow and lets it loose at Venka, Attack: 19
Damage: 4
catching her in the left leg. Doyle sees it go all the way through. The Goblin cackles with delight.

The cackle echoes through the rumbling halls, the Glasswork's forge booming as Rapid runs behind it, the heat coming through the walls sending streaks of sweat down his brow. Turning down the hall and charging as quick as he can, he spies a door deeper down, opened, with light emerging from it.

A sure sign of the Goblin's path... or where Tsuto has gotten off to.

Venka hissed with pain as the arrow struck her leg, causing her to stumble even as she stepped closer to the two remaining goblins. Without sure footing, her attack had little chance of finding purchase. She glared at the goblins, one cowering behind the table, the other taunting her from atop it. "You're both idiots, and now you're going to die. Congratulations on scratching me though. It's probably the crowning achievement of your pathetic life."

She turned her head to look at where the goblin behind her was pointing, still hoping beyond hope that Tsuto hadn't managed to get far.

Choni took another step forward as the one creature offered up her resistance to the inevitable onslaught. Granted it would have only been inevitable if the young woman could have managed any real focus on the battle at hand. Gore everywhere, a twinge at the back of her mind that Rapid had fled, a memory of lost siblings, of the shock on the battlefield when it had been her first. Couple that with the searing heat of the glassworks and the sickening shlick as an arrow found purchase and passed through Venka's leg to Choni's right, Choni was not actually in her element at all, or at least not in the mindset needed to actually handle the situation with any actual deftness and thus bring it to a rapid end.

A swing, a little too short when given the height offered by the table and the slight jerk of Choni's arm as she half glanced sideways to see just what damage Venka had suffered.

Edledhron watched as the battlefield continued to evolve, but as he saw it, it seemed obvious that the battle was essentially over. Though he reminded himself that he couldn't lower his guard because as Sarouna had once taught him, complacency kills.

The elf centered himself as the battle moved. Doyle grappled and held the goblin who seemed willing to speak, but the other fool goblins seem intent to die. They even spoke out taunts as the goblin on the table repositioned and the goblin to the left put an arrow through Venka's leg. When the woman warrior replied with her own taunt, the magus wasn't sure whether he should smile or shake his head. But when her blow went errant and Choni advanced and flailed her blade, Edledhron did shake his head. He didn't think badly of them, but it did make him realize that most of them lacked experience.

Glancing to Doyle, Edledhron spoke in his monotone way, "Hold him, Sir Doyle, but make sure he knows that we might kill him if he doesn't cooperate." The elf wasn't entirely sure if the paladin would do so, but the effect should work, as the grappled goblin also has ears.

With his mind clear again, the swordsmen Move to spot SW of G-6 (ne, ne, ne, n)advanced on the goblin to the left with flowing strides, as his companions had gone after the one to the right. Edledhron briefly looked into the hateful eyes of the bow-wielding goblin and he saw the twisted joy it felt as it reveled in wounding Venka. And the forlorn elf felt a flicker of emotion at the evil feeling. He spoke to the goblins in a condescending tone, "You don't get it. You stand no chance." As he spoke the words he swung his thornblade at his opponent with an almost inaudible grunt, and he watched as he Confirmed Critical attack, damage of 13beheaded his opponent. And before the head ever reached the floor, the elf's viridian eyes moved to the last standing enemy.

He felt like every step down the hallway took him away from the horrible your committed by goblins. He knew it was wrong, because the whole idea about running away, was to cut off the flight of those horrible deed-doers.

A few steps down the hall, focus changed. A door was open and emotions wracked the youth. What would he find? Ameiko ready to be escorted home? Doubtful. More dead people spread over the flooring? Likely. He steeled himself and took a careful step closer to the frame of the open door, his whole body already reacting on the sounds from within, but still when he saw the goblins he was near swearing loudly. He came away from the door with the greatest of care, bracing himself for the worst. It felt like he had left the others in the gore room hours ago and he wondered what was taking them so long, please, please, please... Any of you, come to deal with these...

As he stood there with withheld breath, buying time, he tried to discern what exactly happened within the room before him, how many goblins and if they had Ameiko there?

Doyle Costello

Doyle Costello
Doyle felt the heat of the furnace warming up his plate mail rapidly as he struggled to get a firmer grip on the goblin. The little foul creature had nearly had luck with sticking an arrow into the visor split and made a mess of Doyle's eye, One more damn move, and you have used up my patience. That was of course a lie. You did not use up Doyle Costello's abundance of patience so easily, but the utter act of evil committed by the goblins did call for justice, no doubt about that.

Eledhron's words echoed his own and he shifted his hands around, so that the useless flailing arms now was brought still and locked down. Through the visor, Doyle searched the table for anything to tie the goblin with. Rope. Chains. Anything to your this one up with... Maybe the others had been more proactive since their last fight with goblins, where Doyle had found himself in a situation much like this one.

With the goblin secured, Doyle looked up to see Eledhron behead a goblin. It was fierce, swift and just. Doyle was certain that the last goblin would not make it anywhere, with the other three ready to intercept it, so he glanced up towards Igna...

Where is Rapid? Granted his sight was hampered by the helmet and the rake was deft at hiding, but he had been sick last time Doyle had looked at him and now he had just disappeared? Doyle sucked in his breath, RAPID!? had the Milani initiate known the peril Igna was in, he had avoided shouting, but he was well into being loud and did not want to backtrack when the goblin had pointed them in the direction of Ameiko.

~Round IV~
The battle is winding down but not quite over yet.

Doyle continues holding down the one Goblin, while the others head for the final two. Choni and Venka valiantly try to take down the injured Goblin, but he holds on, watching as the Elf approaches. Edledhron appears, blade at the ready, and the last of the uninjured archers turns, looking direclty up at him. The shark-like mouth opens, squealing as the sword goes, and then off flies the head. It goes directly into the closed door of the furnace, throwing them open and disappearing into the flames. Instantly the smell of burning hair and flesh picks up as the furnace roars.

This final act of extreme violence propels the final, free Goblin to drop his weapons, scream, Full withdraw, so no AoOand then flee.

Turning the Goblin heads for the doors and throws them open, heading off into the darkness. Edledhron sees the turning, leaving a blood trail for them as it heads north, then opens doors and disappears therein.

Doyle asks a fair question in response: where is Rapid?

Rapid is not cutting off paths of escape, but has found something more interesting. More Goblins, doing more Goblin-y things. They stand around a table, on which sits a poor middle-aged Tian woman, her eyes looking directly at Rapid. She's been dead for hours, by the look and smell of her, and her arm has been cut off, her stomach opened, her throat torn into. The Goblins are experimenting on smaller things, fingers and bones and the contents of her intestines, though not playing with them in the same way. They're not as involved in it, either, as at least three notice him through the opened door frame.

The room had been a shop room of some sort, but also a break room. Ink paintings in the Tian style are visible, poems written in the same strange character language, and just bits of ordinary, everyday life. Lunch pales, made of wood, reveal rice cakes, now covered in flies, and celery, now browning. People in this room were taking a break from work, when the Goblins attacked. Rapid hadn't known them; who in town knew the insular Tian population of Sandpoint? Outside of Ameiko, they keep to themselves, mostly. You might drink with one occasionally, but by and large, they kept to themselves.

And now, they were almost extinct, from a single, brutal action.

The Goblins who see him are munching; on rice cakes, fortunately, not on flesh.

"You see longleg?"

"He not Big Ear."

"You want stab him?"

"Nah. Me munchin'."

"But Big Ear say—"

"Big Ear no let munch! We munch now, then stab later!"

The other two begin to notice.

"Longleg got weapon."

"You got weapon too!"

"It biiiig weapon."

"Make munch!"

Two stand up, with bows in hand. They go for arrows.

The biggest of the five shakes head. "You stab if dumb. Me munchin'."

The other two stand, and go for their arrows too. As a precaution, the leader takes his dog-slicer, and brings it closer, before popping another rice ball into its gigantic mouth. "Taste like sea salt and oink pig!"

măgar vāntVarisian: Donkey Fart* A Varisian curse much stronger than its silliness hinted, but appropriately fitting in the circumstance where you find yourself face to face with five murder hobo goblins and a molested glass works worker. There was little Igna could do and his craven heart knew it in the instant the goblins saw him and called him out. Had he been a braver man or at least a stealthier rogue, he might have stayed and done something, but this was not the case and besides... Doyle was calling for him.

Igna shook his head in a 'no-need-to-see-me-as-a-threat’ kind of way and ran. He sprinted back the way he came and turned around the frame of the door in a flurry of adrenalin and withheld breath. The heat, the stench and Lonjiku in glass made him second guess what nightmare was the worst, but then he saw the others far down the room, Oy. Got five more goblins coming after me this way... They've killed more...

He was about to scream for help, but luckily got a grip on himself before the last drop of hero in him would evaporate before the craven sun and settled with, Should I come to you? No. Please say no. Save me from wading through the dead....

Choni Kokip
left-aligned image
It had been chaos, utter and complete chaos. None had ever fought side by side, the day before had been a mash of skills in different directions, today in unity, they had floundered more than maybe one might say they ought to, though in truth, the fact that each had still managed to maintain even a small measure of unity spoke to their skills and what could be should they continue to wage battle side by side.

As for Choni directly, the woman felt stifled, choked by the enclosed space, the strange fires and molten glass. Everything, from the moment she arrived to this, blood and gore splattered second, had been over and over a shock to everything she knew about the world. To be blunt, she had failed to fall into her trained battle skill, the words of her father, the drills at her uncle's hands, had all fallen into utter disarray, they would be most displeased with her showing.

Teeth bared as she gritted back against her frustration as she paused in reaction to Doyle's sudden call for Igna. He had spoken somewhat about cutting off escape, though as the pitiful creature ran off, he was not there. It was enough to give her pause before she ran down and slaughtered the vicious little thing, and long enough for the namesake to return with desperate words of warning.

She did not miss the second question as she turned begrudgingly from the doorway and considered the room they had just waded through. She did not revel in another battle to take place on gore slicked floors, the hallways were better at least for footing, though the narrow space... "That one runs, don't let them force us back in the room, we don't know what lays beyond that door and I do not wish to run blindly into the unknown and end up surrounded." Even as she spoke, Choni turned back and made her way across the room once more, a low hum accompanied her as she began to shape and form the words she felt she might need. It was with a grimace that she slid her sword back on to her hip and drew her bow, she had to focus, remember her training, and truly needed to stop her wild swings born out of anger and not keen attention.
