Oh man, okay, so I've had quite a few days here! (This isn't game related, but I promise I'll try to get something up tomorrow or so.) I have been trying to get back into school for the last almost ten years - most of which have been filled with poverty, strife, mental and physical illness to varying degrees - and this is my first semester back since I was a stupid kid who thought I knew everything and abandoned a free ride when I was 16. But more than that! This is the first time in my entire adult life when I feel like I have a sustainable job and a sustainable home! (Not sustainable in an ecological sense, which would be better, but I do what I can.) I'm 34 next month, by the way.

So I was finally in a class and had a job and stuff, but it was only really this week when I managed to meet with an adviser from a proper university instead of my little community college, and this is DEFINITELY the very first time in my life when I know the career and the life's work I want and I can see the path to it! Like, we mapped out the next 3-5 years (depending on how many credits I can handle at a time, and summer course availability and stuff) but at the end of that I will be a fully qualified and (highly eccentric) highschool English teacher! It's...it's almost like a real thing, and not some faerytale I tell myself when I'm trying to fall asleep in a hedge somewhere.

Thanks! I'll try not to stress - writing here should actually be good for me, keep up my momentum! (Got five papers to write just for my comp class alone this semester.) I was literally just in the middle of drafting a new post but also now I'm in the middle of a thunderstorm without a surge protector, so...soon. But not today.

Wow, that storm was my only window this week, too! I have been annoyed about this for days, because it was half-written on here while I was stuck doing Social Work readings. Today's my first free time (well, I'm ignoring a paper I have to draft) and it's long enough that I had to spend some time remembering what in hell I was writing. Bleh. Being a student was easier when I was younger, living alone, and not working twenty hours a week at the same time!

Ooooooooof. Sorry everyone, high anxiety week(s). Juggling too many pies and before I blinked a bunch of time had passed. Working on some writing right away...

Also sorry that the setup for this campaign is kind of...beyond that one potential encounter, there's not a lot of early choices. It's interesting for character/aesthetic foundation I guess, but not especially open. That'll change real soon I promise! (Actually if we move through the first book or two, I'm planning to sort of sandbox the last 3-4, to give the whole thing a more organic sense of progression. I hope.)

So does this excitement just sound like "wee, carnival" kind of noise, or does it sound more negative, angry etc?

Definitely not big enough for a proper carnival - sounds like an interested murmuring, like when a traveling salesman or a skilled tinker comes through a small town. The kind of noise of a town trying to figure out how they feel about this disturbance.

No worries, I don't imagine a lot of early choices in most of these adventure paths really. I wanna say the only real option I noted early Jade Regent was being called out for a duel. Note, and spoiler? Don't, unless you are reeeeeally confident in your martial ability. I just got lucky as sin as my rogue ><;

This is going to be a regular occurrence, so we'll just take the apologies as granted. If you all are patient enough to stick with me, there's just gonna be probably waves of time and huge lags as work piles up and I clear it and it piles up again and my sanity ebbs and flows...

I should like to attempt to keep at least this one thread going, you know? I'm writing a lot for school now, but this? This is just for me, and hopefully for you.

I'm going to try not to drop it.
