Aurora Downtime @Mindsiege 1. "Fixing" Aurora Months ago we did have a short, private chat about helping Aurora turn normal again... but I think I want to keep her the way she is, as it turned out to be fun and refreshing to play such unreasonable character. 2. Carousing Aurora attempted the carousing option for 2-3 weeks. I made the rolls with assumption that we are counted as level 2 already. Fist one ended in a positive romance. Second one was: You earn modest winnings from gambling and recuperate rate your lifestyle expenses for the time spent carousing. I assume that it gives me the 28 gp back, as it was the price of lifestyle, right? If it does, the third one is... a positive romance again/still. So, here goes 56 gp... I kind of hoped that the 2nd part of romance would end badly, to be a bit more interesting. Am I allowed to just make it go bad on purpose, if I want? I never even had a love interest in mind for Aurora... but she might want to find that woman, who she set on fire inside the dream. However, I do need DM's approval for it. 3. Exercise I used the reminder of my time on "I Need Some Exercise!" I rolled 15 against a DC8, so I guess it was a great success. I will probably describe it as just some sword duelling. 4. Race change I asked about changing race long time ago and it was allowed by the DMs. I assume that I should add the details of it in the level up section. Link to rolls

1. That's perfectly fine with me. It certainly is refreshing, and while I was a little excited to see a ceremony spell in action, it does consume gold and isn't a certainty for a mere cosmetic choice (as long as the alignment shift doesn't doom the character to doing something they'll regret). Also, finding an available cleric to perform the ceremony would have needed a bit of a deus ex machina too. I don't think Aurora and Oguun ever warmed up to each other, and my own cleric is a bit of a shy one too. I would have liked to make a character connection, but following your vision for your character is plenty of a good reason not to mess with anything.

2. The carousing checks out for me, 56gp for three weeks.
About your choice of the love interest, I'm fully on board with that. It might take Aurora a few days of camping the road where they met in the dream, but they'll certainly meet each other that way. I'm fine to say that there can be a romantic involvement.
As the GM, I will allow you to ignore the success on that second romance. Have fun with the bad.
Have you considered that it in fact could have been two different romances? Nothing says that it has to be, but that could be fun too. There's certainly an opportunity to adapt both Aurora's bond and Aurora's flaw, though I gather that's optional too.
I'll look forward to your narrative, though you do have me worried for Aurora's eternal soul.

3. All of that checks out. Aurora can note down Inspiration for her next adventure.

4. Yes, please cover all those changes in the Scarlet Legion thread. I recently changed the race on my Thri-kreen character Cha-kra, so you could use that as an example. The new image looks great by the way.

5. I think that covers 7 of your 8 downtime weeks. Does this mean that Aurora is going the Earlamar route? Creating distance to what happened on this quest?

Yeah it was supposed to be full price. We (I?) just never got around to making the rules edits. I think all rules and links are now correct.

It's only 333gp split 5 ways. Earlamar actually stole the 35gp from Geghard in the previous post. Canonically you have good reason to be mad at him, though effectively it increased your cut.

I'll say those two topics together will take Derek a month to research for starters. Please give me five checks: an Investigation (CHA), an Investigation (INT), an Arcana (INT) about oneiromancy, an Arcana (INT) about onomancy, and then a Religion (INT) about fiends. Please label your rolls so that I can differentiate the results. I'll let you know how far this will get Derek for that month and then you can decide if you want to continue your research in a particular direction.

Oh, when you get to it, could you please also secret the rolls to me and put them into a spoiler button so that they are easier to avoid for secretID? I'm trying to help the others to make their decision for personal research easier while avoiding getting influenced by how well it goes for Derek.
