Dell, just a quick note on Briggs’s sneak attack. Since he’s a swashbuckler, he can sneak attack a baddie if there are no other baddies within five feet of him (plus all the other ways a rogue can sneak attack). So if the shark is five or more feet from the other shark/tentacles, Briggs SA damage would apply even if no other allies are attacking that shark.

Yes, this is completely fine. Just so your aware though if your trying to be 5ft from the shark your leaning over the railing of the ship to get to it.

Why not just hit a tentacle? I assume the sharks can't do any harm right now anyway.

Well at first it was an RP choice b/c Briggs has had bad run-ins with sharks. But if they’re not in easy reach, it does make more sense for him to attack the tentacle.

delpinator, what's the situation with melee attacks against the shark? You seemed to say that they're possible, but maybe with disad, or some vulnerability?

Yes it's possible to attack with melee but it gives the sharks advantage in grapple checks to pull the attacker into the water.

Arro's familiar is giving ADV for someone versus the shark Arro just wounded.
