Good to run into you again, Insacrum. Hopefully this time my character won't think your character is a member of a foreign and enemy race, with mysterious and frightening powers and an antagonistic philosophical alignment. Lets see... CN Fighter/Barbarian Survivalist Half Orc... LN Magus-with-an-intelligent-weapon Dwarf-in-a-world-where-dwarves-have-now-become-a-near-myth....... Well, at least Garrin is usually a pretty tolerant guy

And if I can get into a serious, mechanical question right off the bat: rngrbob, I believe you said 25 point buy for our characters. Would that be the traditional d&d 3.5 point buy where 25 points means a relatively low powered campaign, or the new pathfinder point buy system where 25 points means a very high powered campaign? I'm figuring the former, but I definitely wanted to ask you before I start the mechanics of my character

I won't have Tobias up as a completed PC sheet for a bit... juggling work and real life, as always, but I will work on him every evening until he's done.

Regardless, unless we start immediately in combat, I can probably Role Play a bit without my exact magic items, etc., so let's not hold up the start just on my account.

That and preparing to co-DM a campaign that already has 14 pages of obscure banter and complicated rules questions.

Yes that's true my good sir that we have those with the company. Its the new pathfinder point buy rules, were it a vary high powered or aka epic fantasy powered campaign. Since the games on par with the aforementioned Skyrim and up there with the Lord of the Rings. Tis fine to ask already my good man . That's cool and I'm sure there is already lol. Yeah lets hope that some one doesn't lose an arm or something, eek. Accidents do happen. Very funny love the Monty Python quotes, I hope that doesn't happen in play like with in the quotes hehe.

I know I'm not a lycan (yet), but as players, do we still abide by the CR +1 (ecl +1) if we are/become a lycan?

Also, the majority of my character sheet is up and running. I just need to buy all of the non-magical equiptment (which takes a while of digging). On a side note, I spent gold on my dwarven waraxe, considering it masterwork for the purposes of character building. Is that acceptable?

Could I combine Lunge with a readied action to prepare an attack with 5 feet of extra reach against advancing enemies? I'm looking for ways to use the halbard's "brace" ability against enemies with 10' reach.

Lunge is used with your melee attacks.
Brace requires you to use the 'ready' action which is a standard action.
You can ready any 'standard action' (a melee attack).

Ruleswise I would say you could do it, but RW says that it would be hard to both brace a weapon, and lunge with it. I would say this is a DM decision.

Mhm, good point. Arguing for it in RW terms, I would first point out that you can still use the other creature's momentum against it even when you're lunging forward, which I understand is the reason why a spear set against a charge deals extra damage.

Of course, you still need to be stable enough on your feet and have a firm enough grip on your weapon to make use of all that extra momentum, problems that bracing a spear solve but a "lunging brace" wouldn't obviously avoid. I would argue that, not only is Garrin a pretty heavy-set, solid guy, but perhaps that his halberd has one or more "vamplate(s), a small circular plate to prevent the hand sliding up the shaft upon impact", like a lance. FYI, the other purpose of a vamplate is to keep the thing on the other end from sliding down. That's why Boar spears have a big cross member behind the head... nothing worse than a wounded boar that doesn't know it's dead yet, sliding down your spear shaft and gutting you with tusks as it dies.

Yes that's correct, you would abide to the CR+1 (ECL+1). Even if were born or was bitten as a Lycan (werewolf).
