As a Canadian, my wife and I once got a rental car that was from the states and didn't realise the speedometer was in mph. We were very confused on the highway.

Canada sounds great - England was the right side of the road, but everything was in miles, whereas we use kms The three biggest issues were that the roads were all very narrow, people parked all over the place, and there's this unwritten (at least, on the roads) "national speed limit" that exists. I was driving down the main roads, with everyone going much faster, and me being unsure how much of that was to do with their speeding, and how much was me not knowing the actual limit!

That's a pretty good start to driving anywhere

The Netherlands? You should've called me, I'd happily have come to wherever you were for a drink.

I've driven a car and/or motorhome in... 14 countries. Scariest was the wild Atlantic way in Ireland along the west coast with a motorhome.
I've been in a car in 4 more countries, but driving in Indonesia when you are not used to that would be suicidal, and is way too expensive in Singapore.

@sed; that was... 18 years ago, I think. I was still a half decade away from finding this place, and knowing you.

But, if there's a next time, I sure will!

@Sed - I returned in time to get the almost-no-rain-anywhere-across-this-big-island. And major bushfire concern yesterday, too...

I remember driving in St John on the other side of the road. My brother in-law also made sure to drink and drive because you can there, you just can't drive drunk

In other news, I just broke 7k posts and I'm just shy of 20k RPXP, time flies when you're having fun!

Congrats Imveros!

Just broke 4,000 rpxp thanks to the good Wynamoinen; maybe in time I'll reached a solid 1:1?

You will, and then surpass it. And then someday, never ever be able to catch up.

I think we had a discussion about that earlier on these pages.

Once, a long time ago, my RPXP vastly outpaced my post count. But through hard work and dedication, I've managed to flip the two. Dream big, Admin Dirk. With some perseverance and a bit of ingenuity, you too can reset your RPXP to 0.

Milestone: Just surpassed 9kRPXP. Thanks, Imveros, for putting me over the top. In January, you were listed as one of the top RPXP-givers on the site. Keeping up with that reputation, I think!
