[Game Thread] Chapter 1: Festival and Fire

Nodding with satisfaction when one of the goblins fell asleep under her hex, Mouse scurried forward a few more paces and cocked her to let fly her birding club at the head of the next goblin warrior.

It eviscerates the creature, killing it. Findal, not realizing his rat is asleep, calls for it to attack while he steps in to try killing the sleeping goblin. He drives his dagger forward, and while the goblin's armor takes the brunt of the damage, the blade still sinks in. The pain causes the goblin to awake with a snort. The goblin warchanter, seeing Andrezi as the biggest threat, tries to neutralize the ranger. She casts a spell, and Andrezi's head seems a bit muddled. The spel doesn't take, however, and with a shake the ranger clears his head. The whip-wielding goblin takes a few steps backwards - which just saves her from being brained as Mouse's aklys goes whistling past her face. Edi runs forward, and with a glowing hand fills Andrezi with positive energy, healing the ranger's wounds. The goblin that Findal just stabbed grabs the dogslicer it had dropped and begins to pick itself up...

 

Just noticed that Saidande has been rolling 1d4 for damage - a small sized dagger does 1d3. OTOH, you forgot to double it for a CDG. Though it doesn't seem to have mattered - you can't get close enough with a 5' step, so you'd have to take a move action to reach your enemy and could only attack as a standard. (A Coup de Grace is full round. Your handaxe does a d4 and would be good for such an attack.)
It might be a touch tough to tell, but the goblin to the west of Findal is greyed out, because he's dead.
Findal and Andrezi may make an attack of opportunity on the standing goblin. (Since you only get one w/o Combat Reflexes I don't roll those for you.)

This time his horsechopper strikes home, stabbing into Able's shoulder, but the goblin dog's bite misses.

Findal looks back at his minion and finds it sleeping on the job.

"AGGGGR!" He snarls, stepping back and stomping his foot down on the ground. Another ring springs up around him and this time he holds his hand up above him, willing another spinning summoning circle to spring to life above him. A shrill cry echoes out and the rat squeaks in its sleep, dissolving into a mist that rapidly dissipates.

Above him the cry resolves into a celestial eagle that swoops down upon the goblin standing before its summoner.

 

Findal will step back five feet and summon an eagle above the square he was in, the eagle will then get all three of its attacks as it doesn't have to move.

Dice rolls. Possibly confirmed the crit... otherwise just 4 damage. Eagle is better than rat...should have summoned it first anyway

[Ieiunitas]

Edi stands behind his fellows in arms, again finding himself with little to do now that nobody is damaged. He moves around to the nearest goblin, trying out the weapon he acquired against a more...conscious target. His lack of skill with the weapon is quite apparent, as he misses by a wide margin.

 

Does a -4 hit?

The half-orc growled as he sidestepped the 'dog's' snapping jaws into the path of the crude halberd. His blood coated the blade and blue aura around Able shifted to the head of his weapon. Desna's guidance of the heavy implement did not prove as helpful as the inquisitor hoped though as the wild swing came nowhere near the goblin.

 

Changing to Judgment of Justice as a swift and then missing on the attack roll against the goblin while doing decent incidental damage

Father Zantus reaches a hand out and casts another healing spell on Able, returning him to wholeness. Andrezi, panting from his brutal strike on the goblin, takes a moment to regroup and catch his breath, focusing on defense. Findal steps back, dismissing his dire rat, and instead conjures a celestial eagle. The eagle swoops down, scouring one talon across the surviving goblin's face. The warchanter moves forward again, still singing, and flings out her whip. The tip wraps around Andrezi's legs and pulls, but the ranger keeps his balance and the goblin pulls her whip back.

 

Remember, I will still be doing an update tomorrow, unless Firkraag doesn't post.

Andrezi swings at the goblin next to him. Attempting to end his hated enemy. Enough of this!

Edi steps forward to attack the nearest goblin, but his efforts prove fruitless. The goblin launches his own strike, on Andrezi, and is just as effective as Edi. The goblin rider ignores Able this time - his ire turns towards Father Zantus. While the priest avoids the dog's bit, he does wince as he suffers a slice across his ribs.

Able growls as his frustration rises with the slippery vermin. It clouded his judgement, followed swiftly by his aim. He would need to keep his head if he was to stop missing the goblin by mere inches.

Findal smiles at the goblin as his summoned companion swoops down again, assaulting it a second time.

The eagle scores a single hit, nearly finding a vein but fails to do more than strike a solid hit.

Findal simply waits, biding his time for the proper moment to act.

 

Looks like 1 hit...failed to confirm the crit. If a 15 hits then woo! Oh wait... high ground... that is a 16 actually...I think that's a hit for 1 more damage... still not enough to kill the thing though. The bird will float down to level with the goblin after the attack, Findal does nothing. He's letting his minions do the fighting for him.

Well that was a short update. Abstalar wasn't meant to be a combatant, and wouldn't have any weapons or offensive spells on hand anyway today.

However, the evasion carries it right into the path of Findal's attacking eagle, and one talon rakes deep across the goblin's face. The fire-happy runt goes down, unconscious. The warchanter, seeing both her companions dead, drops her whip and pulls out a shortbow. She fires a shot at the summoner, the arrow leaving a gash across Findal's temple.

 

Firkraag hasn't posted in the game thread since the 6th. That means that Mouse might be leaving next Sunday - and I'll definitely be recruiting at that point. Unless you want to play with three people...
I didn't upload a new map because it seemed such a small change, but the goblin in front of Andrezi is down and unconscious.

Edi, seeing this battle mostly finished, goes to assist Able in dealing with the rider. The Pharasman cleric strikes with his plundered dogslicer, but the blade doesn't penetrate the goblin's armor. The goblin, seeing a fresh victim before him, launches forward... and in a crimson splatter, both goblin dog and horsechopper cut through the elf's body. Edi has gone on to join his deity.

 

Ieiunitas gave me permission to kill of his character, and he'll create a new one if he comes back. I didn't expect to be that effective, though...
Firkraag will be dropped on the 27th if no post is made.At that point I'll recruit two more people.

Andrezi's blade misses the goblin, however, the path of the blade continues as he twists his body to the west in a wide arc. He smiles as he realizes the goblin to his west has no idea what's coming to him.
