How to use The Storyteller
Morthos the Wise ![]() ![]() Thematic Music "Artists should always think of themselves as cosmic instruments for storytelling... I think that instinct, that storytelling instinct, rescued me most of my life." Morthos is a prophetic oracle of Shelyn. Among Morthos' followers are bards, minstrels, performers, actors, actresses, etc. and has been at the inn longer than his memory serves. He considers it his divine and blessing and duty to tell the tales of the greatest heroes across space and time. While he has a flair for dramatic tension as a master bard, he is versed in all types of story telling, though Morthos is not prone to singing and prefers to tell stories to an audience around the fires of the common area taproom. Using the Storyteller function is another fun activity for players to engage in (like the arena) during downtime between missions and it will also qualify them for altar bonuses. This gives also players a lot of free reign for freeform options to explore things they always wanted to do with their characters and encourages the creation of Eternity's End fanfic. MOST IMPORTANTLY: This allows PC's to advance their own character stories/legends which will mostly be neglected by the Inn GM's for the most part due to the nature of one shots. The Process: The player rents room in front desk for freeform rather than guildhall or meeting room. When completed the player tells the story to Morthos (by posting the edited version of the thread). Morthos then repeats the story whenever anyone is listening (when a player reads the thread).
