Post of the Month Winner Announced! New Contest Open!
Another month and another selection of wonderful posts for our judges to wade through. Now, with no further delay: the Post of the Month winner for May 2012 is ... Outcast! You can read Outcast's winning entry here. Please congratulate him for his exemplary work. Is there anything worse in a game than ending up with captives? You never know what to do with them, and there is always an intra-party argument about it. You've got the characters calling out for merciful treatment, you've got the characters demanding execution and more times than not there's the one player with the "grim and gritty" character yammering on about different methods of torture to apply. In this post, Outcast has come up with a solution to the problem that has vexed so many groups of adventurers, while at the same time allowing the events surrounding the character to provide insight into the character's past. It is done without dialog, without excessive description, but conveys a clear sense of what he's doing and why. The other nominations for May 2012 can be read here. Each is an exceptional entry and well worth the read. The PotM contest for June is going on even as you read this. Be sure to nominate your favorite posts from the month of June.
