POST XP "not that again"
Here's the equation: (PR x CL = Pxp) or in long form (Post rating x Character level = Post xp) Each post gets rated 1-10 and due to the steady inflation of experience points needed to level a character, the character level becomes a multiplier. What's a good post, poor post, outstanding post? For me, an outstanding in-game post takes into account previous details, interaction, length*, following procedures, intutitive play, and immersion in the role. Yes it's subjective but that's what DMs do all the time. *Length isn't a very important factor because sometimes a post just has to be short but still will fill some of or all of the other requirements. Length does however help to include details, etc. SO, Character Daffodil posts 6 times (8,6,5,6,4,5)=34. Daffodils CL is 2. At the end of the day Daffodils posts garner 68 points above and over xp for encounters successfully completed. So the question is does this system appear fair and balanced? |

it does seem nice.....not only does encourage participation and good posting, but it also gives a slight acceleration to the characters, which is always nice in this type of an environment, as its typically slower than RL gaming

Seems well thought out and easy to apply no problems with it at all, it will also help characters level up more quickly something which is not so easy online.

Yes looks good but I'd sort out some criteria on whats good and whats not otherwise it'll take too long to sort out each post. Also have you thought of minus exp for playing out of character.

I think we shouldn't do disincentives like that, receiving less Xp than others is bad enough... at worse, give negative RPXP. but penalising Xp is just...wrong...

Yeah but every player needs a good kick every now and then
![]() I would only penalize XP of they broke a rule (one of mine is playing out of character is verry verry wrong.) |

I'm not going to neg anybody anywhere. DnD Boards or in-game. I just won't give and that'll be message enough. So far I made my first tally and it seemingly worked real well. I have one highlevel character that topped 600 with 9 posts not including his various encounters points. Can't give out too much stat info because of possible peeping PCs. I'm happy with it.

600 with 9 posts? That's 66.66 per post... how do you get that???

Using the equation at the beginning ot this thread. Do you see a problem? I would very much like to know so I can adjust my system and thinking.

An interesting system.
If I had the time or fortitude to DM on this site, I'd totally use it.

I know the equation, just that that guy must be a high level guy..
Say, all his posts were rated 10, thus 9 posts means it is 90, which means he is level 6-7 to get about 600xp... Thought you were workimg with low level guys.... |
