Theme Survival of the last outpost.

Plot Summary A powerful caster has created a new breed of undead that spawn at a tremendous rate. He & his lieutenants have nearly taken over the entire world with this new strain. All it takes is one bite & you're almost guaranteed to become one within an hour. You are in the last known outpost of the living, racial adversities have become non-existent. Drow, Human, Orc, Kobold, Elf, Dwarf, Giant, all races are now working together, the old hatreds died away when the fate of the world came into the balance. Fortunately the vast majority of the Undead are mindless, just wandering aimlessly for their next meal. Though there are vastly more powerful undead, rumors abound of powerful creatures & individuals that were turned into undead, but retained all the powers they had in life, though you have never seen anything more than the common zombies & skeletons.

Character Creation This is a mostly open-call recruitment with very little filtering done here. Everyone will start at level 1, full "squishy-mode" in place. I suggest having a backup character in place. Though there are those that will need to make epic level & confront the masterminds to ever finish this campaign. Turn/Rebuke undead, control/command undead & anything related to taking control over the undead is severely hindered, you affect HALF the HD listed in the books. Feats, Spells, Class/Racial abilities give half their listed bonuses as well, this ONLY affects abilities intended to gain control over undead. You are allowed 2 flaws & 1 trait RESOURCES All Official PRINTED WotC 3.5 books & magazines are allowed. Web sources on a case by case basis & require approval. 3rd Party As a side note, you may request a review of a 3rd party book, if I have it I will review it as I'm able to determine whether or not to approve it. If I do not have it, it's denied. Currently the only 3rd party publishers I have are AEG, Green Ronin, Mongoose, Slayer's Guide, & Sword & Sorcery, This does not mean I have all their books, just that if yours is from another publisher, please don't ask. I have more AEG or Mongoose than the other 3rd parties combined. List of Approved 3rd Party Sources & Web Sources Quintessential Fighter 2 from Mongoose publishing Kobold Variant Special The Homebrew link in my signature, everything there that was uploaded by me is available for use. If you know any homebrew material THAT IS BALANCED, ask about it on here & I will review it. There are certain ones, Swordmaster, Totem Barbarian, & numerous others that are completely broken. I look at what you get upon completion of the class, the full picture, please don't waste my time with a request for something that is obviously broken. Thanks. Dread Necromancer is NOT allowed. Any Race of +1 LA or less is allowed without adjustment, nothing higher will be allowed NO TEMPLATES & NO CONSTRUCTS Alignments are irrelevant. LG works alongside CE because all know they need each other. Good & evil have become outdated, the only thing that matters now is survival. ABILITY SCORES Point buy on a 1-1 basis, no 2-1 or 3-1 junk. All scores start at 8 & you get 28 points to spend. Range is 8-18 before racial EXAMPLE ARRAY: 18, 14, 14, 12, 10, 8 Submit a character with a background & a completed character sheet for admission. & be sure to include your posting rate. Minimum number of times per week you are capable of posting.

Campaign Information Infection: If you are BITTEN by an undead you will immediately be required a fort save DC=10+attackers HD to stave off the infection. 3 consecutive fort saves & you're safe. A save must be made immediately & every minute thereafter until one is failed or 3 are successful. 85% of Undead are 1 HD. IN CHARACTER INFORMATION: Everyone knows that if a person is bitten, they might change within an hour & that if they have not changed after 2 hours, they are safe, this time. There is no known method of healing/curing a person of the infection & nobody can predict if a person will survive a bite or not. If a person is found bitten they are immediately chained up for the protection of others, all have accepted this treatment regardless of background/race. If the individual has not changed after 2 hours they are cleaned up & treated to a nice meal. Resurrection: Is incredibly difficult, the only known person that is capable of resurrecting someone from the dead resides in Talonhold. His temple is protected via unknown means & the journey there is incredibly difficult. It is openly known he cannot restore undead back to life. If a person is converted to an undead, the only thing left is to put them down. Forewarning: Character death is a possibility. You are welcome to have backup characters for this campaign. If your character dies you are welcome to remake a new one with your prior characters experience - 1,000 per character level minimum 0 XP. If a character remains inactive for 7 consecutive days WITHOUT notice to me, they will be joining the ranks of the undead. I don't like slow pace campaigns & if you cannot post a minimum of once per week, please seek another game.   Final Note: I have a group of PCs already running that are level 5. They will choose groups of their own from applicants, they are basically your leaders. They are charged with keeping you alive & helping you get stronger because the higher ups want to eventually be capable of striking back instead of merely defending. You get 500 gp to purchase any equipment you like at book prices. Please make sure your character sheet is public as you may be chosen by 1 of them to join their group & they will want to see what you're made of, as would any superior officer.

1.) I take it from the flavor text that Remove Disease or similiar effects won't cure the bite victim?
2.) Does the Paladin ability Divine Health make them immune?
3.) Any chance we could get a rough outline of what's known about the capabilities of these undead? For instance, can they climb trees? Do they use tools or weapons?

Oh, and one thing I'll do to help PCs. We're gonna use pathfinder skill sets. There are no synergy bonuses from within a skill group. but this will free up skill points.

Background: Akros has been around far longer than the undead pests currently plaguing the earth. In fact, many thought he was one of the individuals who caused it twenty some odd years ago. But that's what being born with horns will do for you. The prejudice was almost too much for him to handle at first, and he did his best to make his own way in the infected wilderness for a few years. He realized before long that he couldn't make it, and eventually found himself at the gates of Kapua, begging for sanctuary. To his surprise he was let in without contest and welcomed with open arms. We could use an archer up on the walls. One man said as they saw his bow strapped over his shoulder. We can put you to work real soon, if you're interested. Akros accepted the offer, and started on patrol the following evening. It was an odd feeling for him, working side by side with a human, and elf and a hobgoblin, with no judgmental stares or bigoted remarks. If it wasn't for the undead hordes outside the walls, he might argue the world was better off than it has ever been.

Genesis, read above. BITTEN only. A hit, a grab, a slam, NONE of these carries a disease. & 85% chance the save DC is 11 on top of that. Also, open call recruitment, this here is mostly formality. Plus i have a couple "team leaders" That are level 5 doing "recruiting" of their own.

As far as quota, there really isn't one. Right now I'm looking at 4 teams of roughly 5 each, but each team leader has the decision on the size of their team.

This had been the reason why Magog sought out Bahamut, even while still faithful to Pelor, his patron deity. He was tasked with destroying the undead enmass before they could get a foothold over the world, and ruin countless generations of advancement and culture. Though his rebirth had been now more than a score of years ago, Magog was still fervent and determined as the day he left his chamber and saw the new world. Additional Information Posting Rate: I can usually average 1-2 posts per day, more during combats if needed. I don't post very often (if at all) during weekends due to scheduling conflicts and children. So, on average, 5-10 a week, give or take depending on situation.

Undead are capable of anything they are in the books. Biting, Grappling, Slam attacks, etc etc
