Idle chatter, empty bragging, lame jokes (and introductions)
This is the OOC thread for people itching to play a solo game, willing to GM one or just snooping around. Go ahead and introduce yourself, chatter a bit, get to know people! The actual matchmaking is made over in this dedicated thread next door. Head there to find your game, but don't forget to introduce yourself here first!

a few thoughts: - I think anyone can create threads, no need to wait for a gm, and no need for the gm's to watch and create threads for others - I really dig the table, and kudos to Jester for doing it, but it might get out of control with lots of participants (let's hope for the best), and people's tastes change over time. How about everyone making just one post in the matchmaking thread, and it's everyone's responsibility to keep that one post updated? That way, there's no need to pester a gm to add / change / remove preferences. Last edited by Karver; May 10th, 2018 at 11:43 PM. |

[moved by Karver to OOC from another thread]
I see at least a couple reasons why we should not allow anyone to create threads and have a party: first, non-GMs cannot create folders (and every games need at least its own folder); secondarily (but more important), we are basically asking the staff to hand over to us a de facto "semi-admin" status, since we'll be able to create games without passing through the advertisement/request phase. The very least we can do is take upon ourselves the duty to filter and organize the process. Speaking of more important things, what's with the games? I see many posts regarding the organization, very few about the actual matchmaking and solo games. I know this is a ramshackle hut compared to the glorious, marble palace of the Bazar-to-be, but go ahead and start partnering! edit: regarding the table, it's fundamental to have a centralized place (ie a single post) to do the actual matchmaking. Asking somebody to dig through a multi-page thread just to find who's playing what is bound to fail.

Hi greenvoid! :in that cheerful yet just a little too Stepford Wives voice:
I'm Zagros and I like long walks on the beach at twilight, the soft whisper of a dagger leaving its scabbard... :looks around at the sound of crickets chirping: and occasionally a rampaging draconian. _______________________________________________ I just had a housekeeping thought - should we add a column to the table to show who's actively looking to play or run games? Or color code it? I anticipate some of us will be active in the games but not looking to add a new one. Or want to run another game but not play one, or vice versa. Just tweak thoughts, I love the idea of this bazar and am surprised it hasn't come up before. (If it has and it crashed and burned, don't tell me!)

Hi, I’m Karver (Rob IRL) and I’m an Aquarius. I’m a big fan of zombie fiction, romance in most stories and guns. I hope this game forum is used by tons of people, even long after I’m gone from this site (which won’t be anytime soon).
I think we should have everyone make one post in the advert thread, stating what they want to trade for, or are looking for. Then we add that, linked to their post, in the big table. That way we can keep the table simplified (like it is now) and still let people get wordy in their posts. Last edited by Karver; May 10th, 2018 at 11:50 PM. |

Karver, great job on tidying up the info thread and adding the other three of us as DMs. Thanks! I am now able to create folders (and I did).
Also, I think your idea above is great: Quote:
Right now the Info sticky is more or less OK (I added pointers to the DM's profiles). Maybe Karver, you can work on this thread, and Jester on the matchmaking one? In the meantime I'll set up Confidential in the game folder, so we can prove to the world that we are ready to go ![]()

I like having everyone make one post and linking to it from the table. I also think we need to add a desired posting rate to the table, that seems to be important for many people when selecting games.

Now the big matchmaking thread contains the central chart and everyone should make one post there, detailing their wishes.
So, where should matchmaking discussions happen, then? How about an "[Information] Offers and Wishes" thread containing what's in matchmaking now, and an "[OOC] Matchmaking" thread for discussing and finding partners? Last edited by greenvoid; May 11th, 2018 at 08:16 AM. |

@Jester: good idea! Posting rate is usually higher in solo games, but somebody could desire a more leisurely pace. It'll be very useful to add it to the table. Go ahead and make that first post your own, detailing all your requirements and advice (as I said , you should feel free to edit my post).
@green, the matchmaking discussions should go... well, in the matchmaking thread! It's exactly its purpose: a game-oriented thread with the updated table in the first post to greet newcomers and keep things always clear. Jester said "one post", meaning the one that details all your requirement and wishes (and that he can link in the table). That doesn't mean that you cannot talk about games in the same thread. Let's keep it simple: splitting the discussion further would be overkill and confusing. (At least, that's my opinion)

I've watched multiple dm vidoes and have done one failed session back in middle school. I like doing rangers though currently ive been doing more random characters and developing them in game.

Hey folks, Just popping in, I offer my 'mild' skill as a GM in exchange for a request.
Would anyone be interested in/ feel capable of GMing a little one-shot 5e homebrew for James Bond/Superspy character?
