Pathfinder: Goblin Horder: Chaos Ensues

It's been about 3 years since I tried this so I thought why not. For those who are looking for a fun side game feel free to jump in!

Credit to Spazztick for creating this game originally as we worked out the rules.

Rules of Things and Stuff. Beta Version 3.0.3
Here's the premise of the game: An endless amount of goblins are gathered together, and have triggered a massive symbol of insanity. You start by creating a goblin, you can have any name you want or it can just be goblin #343. You're welcome to give them a small description / personality, but the odds of living are not in your favor. All goblins will have the same starting stats, and equipment. Though various things throughout the game can alter your stats and equipment.

AC: 14 Touch AC:10 HP: 6 Reflex Save: 0
Melee Weapons: Short Sword:+2 1d4 19-20x2

The game will go in stages.
1) Make a goblin.
2) Roll a % die for that goblin and any remaining goblins from previous turns. See how they handle the Symbol of Insanity.
-Exception: If you have 4 or less goblins, your goblin that enters the battle that turn, is unaffected by the symbols magic.

Percentage of Insanity1-25% Act Normally.
-Continue to step 3.
26-50% Does nothing but babble incoherently. (AC drops to 12 while babbling, due to being flat-footed.)
-End turn.
51-75% Deal damage to yourself: ( No Levels = 1d6 Damage | Level 1+ = 1d8 Damage | Unarmed = 1d4 Damage ) *New(3.0)*
-If you survive, continue to step 3.
-If you die, End turn..
76-100% Attack nearest creature.
-If you have more than one goblin, attack one of your own goblins and End Turn.
-Attack the most recent player to post, and End Turn.
(1)^-If you kill a goblin, friendly or not, the goblin that got the kill, may pick up his sword if he had one. That goblin now can make two attacks, suffering a -2 to hit for dual-wielding.


3)*New(No post range limit)* Attack a player that has posted before you, then End Turn.
(1)^-If you kill a goblin, return to step 1 and make another goblin, take that goblin through the phases.
(2)^-If you kill a goblin, the goblin that got the kill, may pick up his/her weapon. That goblin now can make two attacks, suffering a -2 to hit for dual-wielding.
-Dual-Wielding Short Swords(Hit:1d20+0, Dmg:1d4, Crit:19-20x2)x2


-If you kill a Sorcerer, you get a special Boomstick, that you may use during your next attack with that goblin, it will be an extra action. (Even if you're dual-wielding.). See chart below.
Boomstick!You will roll a 1d10 to determine what he outcome is.
1. Explodes deals 1d6 Damage to self, and 1 damage to all of your goblins. (Boomstick is Destroyed.)
2. Turns into a magic missile, hits automatic 1d4 to any target.
3. Explodes deals 1d4 Damage to self. (Boomstick is Destroyed.)
4. Heals 2 HP.
5. Nothing happens.
6. Provides 1 round of Rage (+2 Damage to all attacks.)
7. Explodes deals 1d4 Damage to self. (Boomstick is Destroyed.)
8. Enlarge person spell, permanent. (Self: +1 DMG, +4 HP -2AC )
9. Explodes deals 1d4 Damage to self. (Boomstick is Destroyed.)
10. Summons a mindless goblin dog. Acts on your next turn. (AC:11, 4 HP, +0 hit, 1d3 bite, is unaffected by the insanity symbol ) (Yo may ride it for style points if you'd like.)


The Maximum Limit of Goblins is 10. Once you reach the max, you can not create one until one of yours has died.

END TURN: When your turn ends, then that post is finished, and you have to wait until 2 people have posted after you, before you can post again.
(1)^ This rule can only be broken, if there is not an active third player for a reasonable amount of time. (2-3 days, use a good judgement.)

While you are posting your thread, keep a "Finished." or "Not-Finished." somewhere on the post, so other players can know you are still working on your post.

Posting Again:. If you have goblins still alive when you are able to post again, you may include them in your next game, as well as roll up another goblin. All goblins have to roll % dice for the symbol of insanity each time you use them. : If you have 4 or less goblins, your goblin that enters the arena that turn, is unaffected by the Symbol of Insanity. Otherwise, all goblins must roll for the insanity symbol.


Critical Hits and Fumbles: All critical hits are auto-confirmed. If you roll a natural 1 or score a critical hit, you must roll a d6 to determine the severity of the fumble/crit. If it says "Hit" something, you do not roll to hit, it's an auto hit with your main-hand weapon.
Critical / Fumble ChartIf you roll a Fumble, roll a d6.
1.) Hit One of your Allies, and Hit yourself. If no friendly target exists, hit yourself twice.
2.) Lose your weapon. Weapon flies and hits friendly target, if no friendly target exists, hit the nearest neighbor.
3.) Hit yourself once.
4.) Lose your weapon. It soars through the air, hits a random goblin 5 posts prior to yours. (You may pick.)
5.) Lose your weapon.
6.) Hit Nothing.
(If you lost your weapon, you now deal 1d2 damage for being unarmed, until you kill a goblin and take his sword.)

If you roll a Critical, roll a d6.
1.) Crit the target.
2.) Crit the target, and gain 2 hit points.
3.) Crit the target, and automatically hit one other enemy target.
4.) Crit the target, and RAGE gain +2 to damage permanently.
5.) Crit the target, hit all goblins within 2 posts for 1 damage.
6.) Crit the target, find a better weapon!! See chart below.

(If you find a better sword, and that goblin dies, the attacking goblin may also pick up your better sword.)


Leveling Up. The Leveling system. You will get 25xp for every post survived, and 50xp for every kill the goblin gets. Once a goblin reaches 200xp, it can choose to take one of the following tables.

(The spell critical is to heighten your chances for using the critical chart.)
(The Sorcerers maximum attack range increased to 5 posts prior to yours.)

Goblin Thinning: Giant Fireball.Goblin Thinning: Giant Fireball of Fiery Death: Every 30 posts, a Gigantic Fireball will detonate, which hits everything on the field. The poster who posts on post #30,#60,#90 (So on and so forth.) will state in their post, however they would like to, that the a fiery source of death, has come to take many to the afterlife. This is here to try and keep a balance in the game, so one player doesn't stay with max goblins for a long period of time.

The fire hits before your new goblin of that turn comes out on the field that turn.

Goblins that have at least One Kill, are granted evasion for this fireball, and do not need to roll to survive.
All Goblins are affected.

All Goblins must make a DC 15 Reflex save, or Die. *New(3.0)*
-Exception: Players with 4 or less goblins, make a DC 10 Reflex save or Die.
-Exception: Level 1+: Their DC for the save, never drops below 15.
-Exception: Level 1+: Goblins take half their maximum life as damage if they fail their save.
-Exception: Level 1: Dies from a 1-5 roll on reflex save, no matter the health.
-Exception: Level 2: Dies from a 1-3 roll on reflex save, no matter the health.
-Exception: Level 3: Dies from a natural 1 on reflex save, no matter the health.

The player who introduces the fireball, makes the saves for any living goblin that was there before the post that introduced said Giant Fireball. The reason for this player making the saves, is so the next players know what creatures are still targets. See post #30 for a perfect example.

*NEW*: Goblins who survive the fire-ball are instantly granted bonus XP of 50 points! Go you, while you may have all of your hair singed off, you stand among the living.(For now...)

Its measured by your own posts. So my goblin will have 1 post survived if he lives on my next!

OOCThe rule is if you have 4 & Under Then the NEW Goblin that turn doesn't deal with insanity. It was a way for newer players to have more control over their Goblins each turn. But as soon as you have 5, every goblin has to deal with it.

Also I know I had a crazy good turn, just know the Goblin Lord giveth, and the Goblin lord easily takith away!

He had a family, you monster! Sure, they all hated each other, but still!

Also, holy crap, that rule about new goblins on kills didn't sink in until now.

Shamm races in after hearing the screams. He's initially not sure where to go from here.

Heely runs in to complain about the noise, then sees the melee and decides to heck with it, he's had a bad week.

Sorry, not sure what the deleted roll is. I think because I started to prep another insanity roll before realising I didn't have to even for the second new goblin.

Boblin then take a

swing at Ebs in retaliation, making slight contact.

Gronk waddles into the fray to assist his 12th cousin 5 times removed and

swings at Ebs also, causing more damage.

OOC RulesOne thing that's not really explained in the rules is the order that things are done. I am going to go put this in. Generally we do the rolls of insanity together and then just do them in the order the goblins were generated. Especially if you get to 10 goblins the coding gets insane and its generally easier to go top to bottom.

Shamm is disgusted by this; what good's a goblin who won't move in the middle of the fight. Blinded by indignant rage,

seeking out Ets. They clash, Heely just just breaking through the other goblin's two-bladed defense for a minor wound.
