Known Spells
Cantrips 1 Action, 30 ft, Instant or 1 hour. You choose an area of water that you can see within range and that fits within a 5-foot cube. You manipulate it in one of the following ways:
  • You instantaneously move or otherwise change the flow of the water as you direct, up to 5 feet in any direction. This movement doesn’t have enough force to cause damage.
  • You cause the water to form into simple shapes and animate at your direction. This change lasts for 1 hour.
  • You change the water’s color or opacity. The water must be changed in the same way throughout. This change lasts for 1 hour.
  • You freeze the water, provided that there are no creatures in it. The water unfreezes in 1 hour.
  • This spell can be used to remove water from a food item or ingredient, or to drain food. Alternatively, it can be used to chill liquids, such as drinks.
If you cast this spell multiple times, you can have no more than two of its non-instantaneous effects active at a time, and you can dismiss such an effect as an action.
Shape Water, 1 action, 30 feet, 1 minute. You create a sound or an image of an object within range that lasts for the duration. The illusion also ends if you dismiss it as an action or cast this spell again.Minor Illusion, 1 action, 60 feet, Instant. A frigid beam of blue-white light streaks toward a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, it takes 1d8 cold damage, and its speed is reduced by 10 feet until the start of your next turn.Ray of Frost, 1 action, 60 feet, Instant or 1 hour. You choose nonmagical flame that you can see within range and that fits within a 5-foot cube. You affect it in one of the following ways:
  • You instantaneously expand the flame 5 feet in one direction, provided that wood or other fuel is present in the new location.
  • You instantaneously extinguish the flames within the cube.
  • You double or halve the area of bright light and dim light cast by the flame, change its color, or both. The change lasts for 1 hour.
  • You cause simple shapes—such as the vague form of a creature, an inanimate object, or a location—to appear within the flames and animate as you like. The shapes last for 1 hour.
If you cast this spell multiple times, you can have up to three non-instantaneous effects created by it active at a time, and you can dismiss such an effect as an action.
Control Flames
Level 1 1 action, self, 1 hour. For the duration, you understand the literal meaning of any spoken language that you hear. You also understand any written language that you see, but you must be touching the surface on which the words are written. It takes about 1 minute to read one page of text.Comprehend Languages, 1 Action, 60 feet, Instant. You create a shard of ice and fling it at one creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d10 piercing damage. Hit or miss, the shard then explodes. The target and each creature within 5 feet of it must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 2d6 cold damage. This spell can be used to summon a 2⭐ chef's knife, which grants a +2 equipment bonus to checks made with Butcher Kits, Prep Kits, and Roasting Utensils. If cast as a 2nd level spell or higher, it gains an additional 1⭐ (and thus an additional +2), to a maximum of 3⭐s.Ice Knife, 1 Action, 60 feet, 1 minute. Slick grease covers the ground in a 10-foot square centered on a point within range and turns it into difficult terrain for the duration. When the grease appears, each creature standing in its area must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or fall prone. A creature that enters the area or ends its turn there must also succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or fall prone. This spell can now also conjure an amount of oil enough to fill a cooking implement and be used to fry foods in!Grease

Chef Features
Media Umami, Stew
Taste Test You may expend a serving of a dish of ⭐⭐⭐⭐ or lower that you have crafted to attempt a Taste Test by rolling an Insight (using either your WIS or INT bonus) check. DC: 1/2 the RL x ⭐ value. If you succeed this check, you get a sense that something is missing from the dish and can perform one of the following:
  • If the dish is ⭐⭐⭐ or lower, you can season the remaining servings, increasing their ⭐ value by 1⭐, to a maximum of ⭐⭐⭐⭐. You can only do this once per dish.

Backstory

There are only 2 items on the dinner menu at the Silver Scale Inn. There is the Traveler's Meal: basic sustenance for the weary adventurer that consists of a small loaf of bread and a bowl of the Daily Stew (usually cooked from local vegetables and seafood). And then, there is

The Rainbow Meal

Obsidian-Shell Bisque
Rainbow Ambrosia Soba with Wisp Tempura
Frozen Cream with Seasonal Fruits

A meal so fine that according to family legend, a silver dragon in disguise had once dined upon it and enjoyed it so much that the noble entity returned to the inn and blessed the proprietor's bloodline. Hundreds of years later, the Silverscale family, bearing clearly visible draconic features marking the blessing, continue to run the establishment and serve the Rainbow Meal to guests.

Though lauded by Drakkator locals and frequent travelers, the Rainbow Meal costs a hefty price. None could begrudge this, especially with the rare secret ingredients and generational techniques involved, but it certainly limited those who could comfortably afford to enjoy the delicacy. Given the Silver Scale Inn's location in a heavily frequented border region of Drakkator, the Rainbow Meal's usual clientele was well-off travelers staying in the luxury rooms.

Of course, such an exquisite meal requires immaculate preparation, and not just on the day it is cooked. The Silverscale bloodline heirs begin training from a young age to eventually master cooking the signature dish. Years of practice on fundamental techniques are needed before a chef is trusted even with the Daily Stew, let alone any portion of the Rainbow Meal. The recipe of the signature Rainbow Ambrosia Soba is so complex and secret that only a few elder masters have ever grasped it at a time. Hired chefs or younger family members do not even know the ingredients comprising the dish, let alone the methods needed to prepare them.

Khrysanthenum Silverscale was the eldest child and designated heir to the inn from the youngest generation of the family, but at an 'under-ripe' 29 years old, had not learned the pinnacle secrets of Rainbow Ambrosia Soba. Khrysa had only recently been promoted from supervising the Daily Stew to being responsible for Obsidian-Shell Bisque and basic prep for the other courses of the Rainbow Meal.

A long road to mastery of the ethereal soba noodles and inheritance of inn operations awaited Khrysa...but interacting with the motley crowd of travelers that passed through and occasionally catching glimpses of the world outside her region of Drakkator took her breath away. Growing up with it, she did understand the reverence for Rainbow Ambrosia Soba and the Silverscale Inn, but what other incredible places, people...and food! awaited around the world to be explored? She couldn't bear it any longer, and after some familial strife, made her way out as an adventurer in order to find out.

Cooking Style: Khrysa has the most experience with stews and broths, and is trained in the culinary arts in general but had limited experience actually cooking other dishes before she ventured out to travel. She hopes to learn about all types of foods and cooking methods in her adventures, having recently picked up a newfound interest in fried foods. The chef is not the most careful or scientific, preferring to just go with her gut instead of measuring everything out exactly.

She loves to incorporate flashy presentation into her dishes, especially with use of her spells, but this was not always appreciated in the formal and 'classy' Silver Scale Inn. Since she has began traveling, she's tried to incorporate unique local ingredients of the areas she has passed through into her cooking, with drastically varying results.

Ate Milky-Fried Caspian at the Little Lamb Eatery!

Sniffed some Valleyspice lilies that Rahat gathered...apparently they have a peppery aroma but need special preparation

Tried some curious purple berries with a soothing, possibly drowsy effect
