New Community Supporter? Solo Game - All system options.

This thread is for Community Supporters only. To become one, click here.

Hey, are you new to the site and confused about how play by post gaming works? Maybe you are new, have some idea how the site works but want a chance to try a game out to get a feel for what kind of commitment you can make to a group game you're planning applying for. Or maybe you just want someone to walk you through the basics in a game like atmosphere.

Well, if any of those sound like you, and you're still under 100 posts, then why not check into playing a solo game called..........

The Tower of Mage Newby

This is a solo game to teach new site members and players on this site the basics to help them along. If you are interested please post here. Just post that you would like to have a game. You need not have a character concept decided upon, or character sheet created, prior to being accepted.

Every new member who wants to play will be accepted!

Because you have chosen to support our site, you are allowed to skip the other queues of NPSG members and get a head start. Hence, the separate application thread

Some Additional RemarksWe are all doing this on a voluntary basis and dedicate a huge piece of time out of our lives to this. It could take some time for us to reach your post, but please be patient - we like to play, too! While you're waiting, feel free to check out other parts of the site like General Discussion or apply for "normal" group games in Games Seeking Players.

For those who want to play DnD 3.5e: If you are new to the game, try reading through the 3.5e SRD while you wait. It's all the rules you'll need to play. If you have at least a basic understanding of the concepts of the game from reading this, it helps the games run a lot smoother.

For those who want to play Pathfinder 1e: If you are new to the game, try reading through the Pathfinder SRD while you wait. It's all the rules you'll need to play. If you have at least a basic understanding of the concepts of the game from reading this, it helps the games run a lot smoother.

For those who want to play 13th Age: If you are new to the game, try reading through the 13th Age SRD while you wait. It's all the rules you'll need to play. If you have at least a basic understanding of the concepts of the game from reading this, it helps the games run a lot smoother. You can also read through the Pelgrane Press website to get a better understanding and feel for the game.

For those of you who want to play DnD 5e: If you are new to the game, try reading through the Basic Rules while you wait. It's all the rules you'll need to play. If you have at least a basic understanding of the concepts of the game from reading this, it helps the games run a lot smoother.

For those who want to play FATE Core: If you are new to the game, try reading through the Basic Rules and Character Creation Information while you wait. It's all the rules you'll need to play. If you have at least a basic understanding of the concepts of the game from reading this, it helps the games run a lot smoother.

For those who want to play Traveller: If you are new to the game, try reading through the Basic Rules SRD and Character Creation Minigame while you wait. If are already a DnD 5e player, you might enjoy this 'quick start' DnD 5e to Traveller Video Guide. Character creation and playing the game is all covered in this game tutorial so don't feel overwhelmed - we have you covered.

Examples of character creation based on these systems can be found Here.

Whichever option you choose, please clearly note your choice in your post , and we'll see to it that you are contacted by the appropriate GM. Thanks!

AddendumNote to all applicants: For those of you that want to mull over character options before your game starts, please note that you should focus on a 1st level, non-evil alignment based character.

Different GMs may allow different source material, but for D&D 3.5e and 4e games, you will likely be sticking to the appropriate edition Players Handbook. And for Pathfinder based games, you would likely be just using the Core Rulebook material.
For D&D 5e games and FATE Core, Basic Rules are fully available.

If you have any further issues or questions, please send zevonian or Retry a PM.

On behalf of all the NPSG GMs, we welcome you to RPGCrossing.com and wish you Great Gaming!
